Alien invasion

From SporeWiki, the knowledge base dedicated to Spore

(Redirected from Alien invaders)

[edit] Pre-Space Stage

The player is able to invade species still in their Tribe and Civilization stage, and the player will not be invaded by aliens during Civilization stage, though UFOs and Crop Circles do appear in Creature stage and Tribal stage. If the player decides to invade a Civilization stage planet, the player will not be able to capture it. The player will only be able to destroy them all and recolonize the planet. In the Creature and Tribe stage, all UFOs do is abduct and scare other species and pets.

To begin with, the user will only have simple weapons to attack other civilizations with, but later you will gain access to better weapons, such as super weapons, planes and the like and so will therefore find it easier to destroy rival Civilizations in Spore.

[edit] Space Stage

In one of the demonstration videos, Will Wright ends up attacking a colony of a species, leaves, and receives a message from the rest of the species. Although the actual details of the message are not clear, Will Wright went on to explain that the other species are now moving to attack Will Wright’s creature’s planet, while Wright's creatures call out for help from him. In one demonstration video during the Creature stage, Will Wright noted that the game will always try to balance out the food chain, creating creatures above you, so it seems that constant hostility will not always be the best option and care must be taken when interacting with other planets. After reviewing the message, It said the following: "Greetings! We Greevils will repay your aggression! You better rush home to defend YOUR homeworld!" Apparently, The people he attacked earlier by zapping, throwing, abducting, and drowning Greevils didn't go over so well. This is similar to what happens in the real game. After angering a species, they will send you a Declaration of War. Then they will slowly start attacking your planets. However, you should be able to capture theirs faster.

Being invaded by aliens works much like how you would invade other aliens. They target your cities if no spaceships are around, and eventually, the morale of the cities is decreased so much that your planet will be surrendered to them. Planets will only be attacked if they are inside a "Danger Radius" around Enemy planets, which may span a very large area. The Grox have the whole Galaxy in their Danger Radius.
