While there have been images of "robotic parts", these parts are only part of the "costume design" of your creatures. Robots are not yet possible in the game, but there is a small chance they may appear in an expansion pack.

[edit] Software AI

The AI of Spore is not spectacular. It is not any better than the AI of any other modern game, as most creatures or sapient beings just sit in one place or walk around.
