This galaxy needs some good, Cyrannian order.

- Lord Harana

Harana was an influential Heleanorian lord, who served as the Grand Mandator of the Borealisan Province of the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus prior to his death during the New Cyrandia Wars. Popular amongst the traditionalists of his kind, Harana was a key figure in instigating the Heleanorian Civil War, which concluded with the Empire annexing much of Heleanorian space and with it, much of the Zoles Imperium, making him one of the most hated people in the Polar Crystal Alliance.

During the New Cyrandia Wars, the New Cyrannian Republic and the Polar Crystal Alliance clandestinely organised a war between the Empire in Borealis and the Cognatus Empire. Fallout from the plot resulted in the outbreak of war, with future Cognatus Archon Vos Adamae travelling to Helanorbis and plunging his blade through Harana's back, killing the Grand Mandator and sending the Empire's territory in Borealis into chaos.

History[]

Early History[]

Harana's Plot

Harana confronts Prime Minister Friulum.

Harana was born into prosperity, despite being initially adopted. With both of his mothers being members of the Heleanorian House of Lords, Harana was automatically guaranteed a place on the prestigious committee when he came of age. As he grew older, he began to appreciate history more and more, becoming gradually more and more interested in the history of the Heleanorian's ancient origins in the Cyrannus Galaxy. He began to believe that the Zoles Imperium was holding his people back. By the time of the Second Borealis Galactic War, he was one of the most influential lords.

Second Borealis Galactic War[]

As the Second Borealis Galactic War continued, Harana grew to hate the Zoles Imperium more and more. Eventually, millions of other Heleanorian began to follow Harana's viewpoints. Researching the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus, Harana decided that his people would do famously as members within it. Taking his ideas to the leader of the Heleanorians, Prime Minister Friulum, she immediately dismissed Harana, who stormed out of her office, threatening civil war.

Imperial Intervention

Tyranus observes the negotiations.

A civil war soon erupted between the two sides, with neither side appearing on the upperhand, with a stalemate affecting both sides. However, soon afterward, both Harana and King Rebaris were called by an unknown party to secret negotiations. Both Harana and Rebaris had no idea who called the conference, nor that either one would be attending. Harana initally thought upon seeing Rebaris that he was under arrest. However, it soon became clear that the meeting was called by none other than Tyranus. Tyranus managed to strike an agreement between the two, where those who wanted to join the Empire should be allowed to. Thus, Harana and the majority of the Heleanorian joined the Empire, with Harana being promoted to Mandator.

Death[]

Prime Minister Lumian: "I can't help but feel sorry for him. He had good intentions before, but power must have gone over his head."
Republic AI Aible: "And through his abdomen, if the reports are to be believed."

During the New Cyrandia Wars, the New Cyrannian Republic and the Polar Crystal Alliance began to cooperate more closely as mutual members of the pan-Gigaquadrantic Mou'Cyran Accords. Though Harana remained ignorant of the plot, he came close to assassination when the allies sent a Garukut bounty hunter to kill him. Though the Garukut was killed by Captain Mortgrel, Harana was killed only weeks later by Vos Adamae himself, in response to a successful Republic/PCA mission to frame the Empire for an attack on the Cognatus Empire. Harana's death sent the Empire's territory in Borealis into turmoil, facing ceaseless attacks by the Cognatus Warlord Xarn Senakh'tenre.

Physical Appearance[]

A middle-aged Heleanorian, Harana shared features common with his race, including an icy stare and a deep, commanding voice. His aristocratic origins could be seen in his most commonly used attire, a stylish suit that was the envy of many of his fellow Heleanorian peers. The suit itself concealed a heating system, as well as a blaster pistol, which proved utterly useless against Vos Adamae's blade.

Personality and Traits[]

Harana was a perplexing individual. Though he may initially come across as being an elitist snob, Harana did what he considered best for his people, and acted on what he thought his people wanted. Despite this, he did hold certain portions of society in contempt and was definitely guilty of favouring fellow Heleanorian over other alien species. For this primary reason, Harana rejected the Heleanorian's membership in the Zoles Imperium, preferring them to be a member where he thought his people belonged, the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus.
