They claim that men who cross her disappear shortly into the night, never to be seen again. That those whom she considers prey are destined to die. They say many things about the Outcast Huntress; stealthy, beautiful, a terrifyingly adept warrior. A goddess of rangers. Personally, I think she's an up-tight bitch who needs to take her head out from her arse.

- Kanna

Khadya, otherwise referred to as the Outcast Huntress and the Grotesque, is an Aithrena Elf ranger and a bounty huntress who roams the world of Koldenwelt in search of criminals, tyrants, warmongers, and all other forms of apparent 'evil' that plague the continents and beyond. Raised within a community of orcs Khadya knows little of her heritage and cares none for it, as it no longer holds significance for her and thus continues onward to fulfill her goal of ridding the world of vile scum and dark entities although she is known to exhibit many traits typical of her kind and has, reluctantly, come to acknowledge that she shares no blood ties to her surrogate family, despite treating them as such. A woman who takes pleasure out of hunting and the thrill of incapacitating and killing her opposition, she is a true predator at heart and many believe that she holds an insatiable lust for blood within her calm, collected heart.

A figure who has seen many battles and is well-accustomed to death and loss, Khadya is not easily stirred and her resolve is as sturdy as her aim, with little guilt regarding the lives she has ended and maintains no time for displaying mercy to her prey - she views those that cannot bring themselves to kill and end threats yet are sworn to protect are weak and vulnerable. While she is not as headstrong as her orcish brethren, she has inherited their brutal nature and their affinity for using the assets that nature gives them, allowing herself to amplify the potency of her weaponry through applying toxins while often camouflaging her skin to blend into her surroundings, and holds no qualms about using the dark, magical abilities that are latent within her Aithrena blood. Polite yet of few words, Khadya views most other people as little more than animals until they have managed to prove to her their worth and their acknowledgement of the cruelty and futility of the world around them.

History

Early Life

Khadya was born circa 9 BNA, nearing the end of the era of hostility between the Sovereignty of Dryada and the Honsaru Domain. Born on the outskirts of Sovereign territory to Aithrena parents, the village that had housed her was targeted by a fervent assault from Honsaru militia, which resulted in the arboreal homes of the Aithrena populace being razed and many elven citizens being slaughtered by Munki soldiers. Taken from her home by her father, Khadya was evacuated from the attack and taken into the deep wounds where she would not be found, although in the process her father was shot down by Munki archers and died on his feet, his arms wrapped around Khadya's infant form and his corpse hiding her from sight. It was by a stroke of luck that some hours after the attack had concluded, orcish foragers and hunters came across the Aithrena's corpse and discovered young Khadya in his arms - eventually, the orcs resolved to take Khadya in as one of their own and took what equipment they could from her father's body, including an Aithrena blade that would later fall into Khadya's ownership when she had matured.

Khadya was brought up by the tribal chieftain of the orcish people and was treated as any other orc, although as Khadya grew older she knew that she was different from her brothers and sisters; she was not as strong or as muscular as they were, instead being slim and lithe and more accustomed from maneuvering through trees and other complex, seemingly-arboreal environments, allowing her to be stealthy and remain hidden within forest environments. She came to believe herself as being little more than an orc runt, although it was during an encounter with Aithrena hunters prior to her teens that she began to question her own orcish heritage. Eventually, Khadya had managed to obtain information from her surrogate family that she was not, in fact, an orc at all and was but an elf like those they share the forests with, although Khadya quickly resolved that even if she did not possess the blood of her orc kin she was still recognized as a valued and beloved member of the family and in turn returned their affection despite the truth being exposed to her. Sometime afterward, Khadya began making a name for herself as she decided to leave the orc forests so that she may pursue ventures of her own and explore the world and see it for what it was with her own eyes.

During her adventures, Khadya hunted squads of soldiers and warriors from the Honsaru Domain and had claimed the lives of several large and intimidating beasts of burden, although it was only when she came across the utterly vile and corrupted Vila Elf known as Czaranis Sabustras that she began to realize the far more brutal and cruel nature of the world - a battle that she had initially lost and was forced to retreat from, resulting in the toppling of several local villages as she was incapable of saving them from desruction. As Khadya matured she had sworn herself to hunt down those that would seek to harm the innocent populace and grew to become desensitized to killing, eventually disregarding her sense of mercy as she began to hunt the criminals that plagued the underworld of the Sovereign. It would only be a matter of time until her ventures led her to come across the ranger Sefarina Brightwing and lead to them developing contrasting philosophies and ideals, as Khadya had come to realize at some point in her teens that the world was not a place for the weak and that only the strong or ready are the ones that truly thrive in such a place.

She would eventually become recognized as a bounty hunter and swiftly became a name uttered throughout most of inland Koldenwelt, including among the ranks of the Sovereign's military, eventually reaching the ears of the renowned Aithrena archer Daithelen, a man who could shoot dragons out of the sky with his longbow. Khadya would also come across Kanna in her later ventures and found a heated and bitter distaste between the two of them, as Khadya had made an attempt on the Lagosi's life while Kanna was on one of his routine mercenary assignments. She would also come to encounter the Lympharian Praenuntius on several occasions, with at least one or two of these encounters resulting in the devastation of a town while most of the other attempts have been successful in temporarily disassembling the entity. She would also spend plenty of her time trekking through human territories, particularly those under the ownership of the Empire of Man, and has had several run-ins with the Inquisitor Paladin Alfgund Stonesoul.

The Golden Necropolis

At some point in the present day, Khadya found herself having encountered the Berserker known as Ndrhthryr and attempted to strike down the mechanical enigma, believing that his artificial form, astounding size, and his archaic greataxe were prominent signs of potential evil and hostile history. Having fought for several days at a time, eventually the conflict was settled between them as they met a group of adventurers consisting of Kanna, the Sea Witch, Clothovera Moirai, Norrigan of Visonia, Ophellatar, Earath, and Pelagrios, eventually coming to meet the ancient Orichalcum Elf Septimus during their trek towards an ancient Orichalcum Elf tombsite to retrieve treasure and secure Septimus' crown. It would also be during this trek that Khadya would once again meet with her antithesis, Sefarina Brightwing.

Khadya would encounter threats such as Janos Omegon for the first time, tangling with the ancient and raging incarnation of the dark god Caligaduro Provectus for the first time, and would also come to encounter other servants and zealots of the maddening deity, Ánnoria and Leviathan, who were sent to retrieve a Void Matrix from the tombsite by none other that Imperator Kalarah. The adventure would concluded with the team unwittingly allowing the Void Matrix to fall into the hands of Caligaduro's servants and causing it to begin to emerge from beneath the earth where it had slumbered and accidentally releasing the last surviving Sun Drake in existence into the wild, although in the end Khadya managed to secure a variety of Orichalcum Elf treasures for herself and using the riches she had obtained to pawn for favours and more assets as well as bribe for the location of significant Koldenwelti figureheads.

Characteristics

Appearance

Khadya appears as a rather attractive and curvacious Aithrena Elf woman with dark green pigmentation atop the standard extremely pale and ghostly white flesh. Khadya possesses rather generous proportions to her form, including her breasts, hips, and rear, and is somewhat shorter than the average mature Aithrena, although it is likely that she has not yet reached her destined height as she is merely within her 40s, yet to human eyes she would appear to be within her 20s - a result of the prolonged aging process of many elves. She maintains an athletic build due to a combination of her orcish upbringing, which had involved her fighting her brothers and sisters in melee combat, and her Aithrena heritage, as the elves of the Aithrena are adapted to maneuvering arboreal and often forested environments. She possesses dark green eyes and allows for her hair to sink past her scapula, wearing orcish tattoos and green make-up derived from natural ingredients such as herbs and flora to assist in camouflaging her within forested and tree-filled areas.

In terms of clothing, Khadya follows the ideal of many rangers and has stripped herself down to minimalist supplies that assist her in efficiency; armoured plates find themselves strapped to her forearms and legs while she wears a vest of scale mail armour alongside some pauldrons that had been derived from the equipment used by her deceased biological father, whose corpse was stripped of its equipment by the orcs that had come to find the infant Khadya. Her breasts, stomach, and a large part of her legs are left exposed to allow for maneuverability, with metallic protrusions from her armour keeping her breasts held in place while her crotch and rear are hidden beneath robes sustained by a belt. She is never seen without her two blades - one of Aithrena design, the other orcish - and her iconic shortbow, which blends structural designs from orcish and elven weaponry to promote a balance between brutal velocity and portability.

Personality

Khadya is largely benevolent yet rather enigmatic, allowing her own personal sense of justice to influence her morality and thus her actions and decisions. While she prefers to stay away from crowds of people to avoid becoming noticed, she is not against the concept of conversation and merely prefers to roam while not in the sight of other people, as it causes her to become somewhat uneasy. Like most Aithrena, Khadya is well-spoken and polite, placing priority upon her use of manners although she inherits the typical arrogance of the Aithrena alongside, viewing herself as being more graceful and enlightened towards the nature of the world than most others are, particularly humans. However, Khadya is a firm believer in the idea of "hunting" and extinguishing evil and malign wherever it may be found and will stop at nothing to ensure that she has successfully terminated her 'prey', with an animalistic and bestial drive that disallows her from surrendering until she has been broken and beaten and broken again, and fears little from the idea of death.

Khadya's predatory side often displays itself while in conversation, resulting in her teasing those that she just so happens to like, or at least finds amusement from, and she is not ignorant to the attention that her otherworldly appearance, especially her attire, receives, using her 'assets' whenever she finds such necessary. Khadya is thought to possess, albeit restrained, sexual desires although they will always be second to her more immediate interests, and is noted for getting close to others and usually communicating through touch, often stroking and feeling her companions while paying close attention their facial expressions and body language, usually resulting in her taking advantage of such. Her charm is deceptive and can often allow her to get close to enemies so that she may vanquish them, although she will never resort to carnal activities with those that she deems as 'evil' as the mere thought of such disgusts her and unsettles the very foundations of her being. Khadya is independent and despite some of her more charming advances prefers to hunt alone, or at least without the company of large groups.

Abilities

Khadya is trained in both melee and ranged combat, although she is overall far more proficient with her shortbow but she can handle herself in both armed and unarmed melee fighting rather proficiently, making use of a large Aithrena short blade and an orcish hunting knife. Her movements are graceful and elegant yet her attacks are brutal and hard-hitting, an unforgiving and merciless efficiency behind her attacks as she often aims to dispose of her enemies as swiftly as possible rather than extending an conflict further than what is necessary or making her opposition suffer, as she believes that 'animals' should be dealt with quickly. She can maneuver across a variety of terrain rather effectively and makes extensive use of her environment to provide her with advantages, such as using cover and blending in with the area to hide her presence. Her senses allow her to detect and distinguish nearby entities and determine whether they pose a threat to her or not, resulting in her often acting with pre-emptive, stealthy mobility.

She makes use of stealth and ranged combat as a means to compensate for her humanlike strength and her overall preference for attacking at a distance through hunting tactics, usually establishing a series of traps that she prepares ahead of time in order to lure and trap her foes before swiftly delivering her killing blows. As an Aithrena, she is sensitive to bright light, loud noises, and particularly obnoxious stenches as she, along with the rest of her kind, are rather sensitive to such things. Khadya is an adept Source user and makes use of dark magic in order to conceal herself as well as enchant her shots for additional damage and makes use of occasional floramancy to trap her opponents and manipulate the local environment to her advantage, although she is rather vulnerable to both light-oriented magic and pyromancy as a result.

Ah yes, she is a good ranger and a perfect follower for Isiris! However, she is still the ugliest orc I've ever seen! I would really recommend some scars and perhaps a new haircut.
