Moxix Breek (HZC: Moxixxan Viccaradan Khabreek), otherwise known as the Red Emperor and the Butcher Lord, was a Zazane warlord and the Emperor of the Third Sovereign Domain prior to the reign of Tyraz Breek and the Sovereign Domain's eventual assimilation into the Brood of War. Moxix was renowned for his patriotic mentality and his loyalty and honesty towards the politics of the Sovereign Domain while also being considered infamous due to his violent and warmongering attitude and the various atrocities and controversies that arose surrounding it; encouraged by the acknowledgement of his heritage and his responsibility to his people, alongside an innate thirst for blood and destruction, Moxix was considered a powerful and intimidating presence and believed himself an example for others to follow, supported by his charisma and his affinity towards the virtues of law, pride, and truth.
A passionate and vehement individual, Moxix was an undeniable nationalist and traditionalist with a distaste for manipulation and otherwise deceptive or dishonourable tactics in combat and allowed little to obstruct him from his goals, whether it be political opposition or public opinion. Otherwise compassionate towards his followers and loyalists, with great respect held towards his regal ancestry, Moxix was considered by many to be a bloodthirsty warlord due to his lack of mercy towards his opposition and his fierce, expansionist values, which he exercised through acts of genocide and planetary destruction. While Moxix valued his position in the monarchy of the Third Sovereign Domain, he refused to marry and leave an heir for the throne due to his romantic orientation and died following his victory over the forces of the Kasnoth Empire during the Acquisition Wars.
History[]
Early Life[]
Moxix Breek was born October 2, 2739 as the eldest legitimate son of Khatanos Breek, the great-grandson of the first Breek Emperor and the then-current Emperor of the Third Sovereign Domain, and Mandanda Chaqod, the daughter of a political ally of Clan Breek that held a seat on the Free Senate. Placed into the Terrestrial Legions from an early age to be trained and raised alongside other Zazane, both regal and common, Moxix was deemed too valuable to the Emperor as an heir to be sent to fight on the frontlines against the Junction thus was instead assigned to defend mid-worlds from piracy and criminal syndicates, with occasional conflicts with the likes of the Freeblood Realm and the Affinity of Blades. Early into his service as a soldier, Moxix built a fond relationship with fellow soldier Jaralthar Khine, the son of the then-Warmaster of the Terrestrial Legions Dabharal Khine, to whom he eventually served under as a sergeant prior to being informed of the birth of his younger legitimate sibling, Khatanos II, who would begin his own military service serving as a soldier in the same company as Moxix and Jaralthar. Moxix would develop his brotherly relations with Khatanos II on the battlefield, attaching him as a member of his own personal unit to be trained beneath himself and Jaralthar, whom had since grown to become a surrogate sibling and, in certain aspects, an object of Moxix's own romantic affection. During his time in combating pirates and criminals in the mid-worlds, Moxix would come across the traitor Skar on occasion, foiling his activities although finding himself incapable of apprehending or executing him due to his slippery and nefarious nature.
Moxix would gain a mixed reputation amongst his peers due to having, on a number of occasions, supplied weaponry and equipment to civilians to contribute to military efforts rather than working to evacuate them, and had a record of success in mercilessly terminating and disposing of pirates, mercenaries, and criminal syndicates operating within the mid and outer-worlds. Due to an unsuccessful front established against the Junction in the regions near the galactic core, Moxix, as a Captain of the 13th Terrestrial Legion, was assigned to the campaign and eventually came into command of both Tyraz Breek and Keldar Teiran, who were attached to Moxix's company which in turn had been assigned as a personal defense unit for the Emperor Khatanos, accompanying as support for his own bodyguard during the course of the campaign. While serving alongside one another, Tyraz displayed an unpredictable refusal of command from Moxix out of personal spite, which in turn resulted in various brawls and outbursts between the two of them - one of which resulted in Moxix hospitalizing Tyraz with a wound afflicted to the throat. Despite efforts to defend the galactic core and the territories positioned near it, it was eventually lost to the Junction, with Emperor Khatanos and much of his personal vanguard being slain by the metallic claws of Silver Death.
Riddled with shame, Moxix abandoned the conflict with the remnants of the Emperor's personal guard and the 13th Terrestrial Legion, leaving a majority of the remaining forces to be executed in their resistance against the Junction while intentionally feeding them misinformation of reinforcements - of which never arrived, with resources instead being dedicated to defend the core worlds of the Sovereign Domain. Ascending to the position of Emperor of the Third Sovereign Domain, much to the dismay of a degree of the Free Senate, Moxix extended a temporary treaty of peace towards the Affinity of Blades and the Freeblood Realm some years following, desiring their involvement in the ensuing Great Migration to the Onuris Universe that was to occur to assure the survival of the Zazane species and its client and slave races. Eventually, Moxix initiated the Great Migration and resulted in the arrival of the Zazane in the Ottzello Galaxy, in which they reunited with one of the descendants of ancient extrauniversal explorators of the Second Sovereign Domain - the Kasnoth Empire, consisting of the Ottzelloan Zazane subspecies.
Acquisition Wars and War of Claim[]
Characteristics[]
Appearance[]
Moxix appeared as a tall and physically intimidating Zazane with a notable crimson complexion whose physiology was decorated with scars earned from experience in combat engagement and personal duels, with particularly prominent examples including one that stretched from his crest to the bottom of the left side of his face, with it being partially obscured by cybernetic augmentations, which he earned during his early years of service and another located across his right pectoral muscle. Moxix stood taller than the average Zazane and possessed impressive and balanced musculature which had been earned through rigorous exercise and training throughout his lifetime, and was considered by many to be a handsome and attractive example to others in regards to his appearance despite his reputation. Moxix was also recognised due to the possession of a marginally larger set of wings by comparison to other Zazane, which made his presence more notable.
In regards to his attire, Moxix wore sanguine hybrid armour designed to be both ceremonial and efficient in combat, with it being fitted with enhanced military hardware to offer further protection to its wearer while also emphasizing upon his abs and other features of his torso. The armour was adorned with various protrusions, such as spikes, to further boast the illusion of it being purely decorative and ceremonial. Moxix was also seen wielding an ancestral custom-vibroblade, dubbed Vanquish, that had been crafted by the first of the Breek Emperors and inherited throughout the generations following the coronation of each Emperor, which Moxix himself utilised as his most iconic weapon following his own reign as the Emperor of the Third Sovereign Domain.
Personality[]
Moxix was both charismatic and patriotic with a preference for traditional Zazane virtues; loyalty, honesty, and strength, which were supported by an inherent determination to both live up to the standards set by his royal heritage and to maintain the reputation he had established throughout his lifetime. Moxix was noted for being particularly bloodthirsty by comparison to his colleagues and peers, having instigated numerous controversies due to prevalent genocidal tendencies and his emphasis on traditionalist and expansionist values - he supported the ideal of racial inequality within the Sovereign Domain in favour of the Zazane and had led and participated in numerous engagements to quell and assimilate lesser enemies as second-class citizens. Moxix was also known for his mutual distaste for the Free Senate aside from his younger sibling, Khatanos II, whom he displayed a great deal of brotherly affection for and valued him as both a close political ally and someone to confide in.
Despite his - arguably unnecessarily - violent disposition, Moxix showed an evident distaste for the manipulation and deception of others and admired honesty and truth, nearly always displaying honesty to the public due to his patriotic and regal stance. Moxix was also known to be the initial founder of the Migratory Powers - an alliance of the Third Sovereign Domain, the Affinity of Blades, and the Freeblood Realm - prior to the Great Migration of the Zazane into the Onuris universe. Moxix despised cowardice and was nearly always seen leading major military engagements following his coronation as the Emperor, and would never take pride in retreat or the abandonment of others, instead becoming further driven to redeem himself for such actions and regain respect where he believed it may have been lost. While loyal and upstanding to Clan Breek and its regal status, Moxix refused to marry a member of the opposite sex and produce an heir to the throne of the Sovereign Domain due to his homosexual orientation, which had led to its own share of controversy - not due to his orientation but due to compromising the inheritance of the throne in Clan Breek's favour.
Abilities[]
Moxix was a proficient and infamous warrior, having been trained in both ranged and close-quarters combat from a young age and armed with an augmented ancestral vibroblade - Vanquish - and a sidearm, often a pistol, of some form at all times. He was a particularly astounding example of a Zazane specimen, displaying impressive stature and musculature which contributed to a versatile range of physical advantages - of which include strength, dexterity, durability, and stamina - while also supporting his physical capacity with a mind adapted to performing effectively and efficiently while exposed to stress, leading to Moxix to have been a difficult individual to outmanoeuvre in the heat of battle. Due to his charismatic nature and stubborn resolve, Moxix was more resistant to psychological trauma and affliction to his morale, driven by a combination of his pride and will.
However, despite his strengths, Moxix was not entirely invulnerable; his pride prohibited him from engaging in manipulative and other dishonest activities both in regards to combat and political philosophy, alongside causing him to be dangerously hesitant to issue commands of retreat or back down from opposition when challenged - when such results in personal failure or Moxix having to resort to dishonourable tactics, the damage afflicted upon his ego caused him to become misguided and distracted. Due to an uncommon medical condition, Moxix regenerated at a significantly gradual rate by comparison to other Zazane, which is a topic that Moxix felt was greatly embarrassing and attempted to hide at all costs.
