The Abyss skimmer is an incredibly fast underwater military device, used to infiltrate enemy territory by means of the deep underwater trenches that are scattered about the oceans of Nitaria can hold up to four chryididans at once. It is covered with thick pressure-resistant metal, to help protect it from attacks and keep it from imploding.

The abyss skimmer mainly consists of three long cylinders lined up next to each other. The outer two cylinders end with propellers, to help drive it through the cold seas. On the front ends of the two cylinders are glass hemispheres, both containing cockpits for the chryidians. The middle cylinder ends in a cone shaped backwards facing torpedo launcher. The front of the middle cylinder is topped with sloped iron bar, used for hauling it out of the water. The two front torpedo launchers are each mounted on two half crescents that are each fastened to one of the two outer cylinders. Its steering mechanisms are two short downward sloped "wings" that each come out of the outer two cylinders. These are strengthened by metal supports underneath.

sense the Abyss skimmer doesn't use lights to navigate, (That would give away its position in a dark trench) it uses a form of echolocation to maneuver the treacherous depths. This ultrasonic sonar can also scramble the radar of smaller enemy spy subs.
