[edit] Basic information
The Aoringu is seen as an all-knowing figure in many cultures. Whenever they appear, which they rarely do, they will answer the other organism's questions politely without asking a question themselves. Like some sort of estranged god, the second you look away, the creature had disappeared.
Very little is known about these creatures, other than there numbers are few. Another one of the few facts about Aoringus is that they are extremely cunning. They capture, then play terrible mind games with their predators, causing such pain that the predators eventually kill themselves.
The one thing that Aoringus may be most well known for- there isn't a single male among them. Instead, it is theorized that one female may jump start another female's ovarian activities by tricking the body.
[edit] History
The first culture to ever discover the Aoringus were the Japanese and Chinese, who watched them float through the Earth's sky, casually looking for fish. The Aoringus are usually depicted as dragon-like creatures in Chinese art, while the Japanese art was more accurate. The Japanese name was a lot shorter and easier to remember than the traditional Chinese name, and after Japan invated China, the Chinese word for these creatures were forgotten. The Japanese word- Aoringu, which roughly translates to "Green ringed", is now the commonly used name for them.
The Aoringus have never used a name for their own species; instead, when asked who they were they simply responded with "A friend". What they truly call themselves is unknown.
The Aoringu disappeared from the Universe for several thousand more years- until humans landed atop their soil- Juusomu(じゅうそむ), another Japanese interpret of what their planet is called. The Aoringu warned them to leave "This ones place", what they referred to as their planet. The humans didn't believe the planet was theirs- they stayed to investigate more.
The Aoringu treated some of them like predators, tricking them into dungeons and playing horrible games with their heads, killing much of the exploration team. The rest of team fled back to Earth- with the first ever depiction of a true Aoringu- Their then leader, Keinana:
