[edit] Section

Invented in 449 ABGA (After Beginning of Galactic Age), this walker tank is designed for carrying troops.

[edit] First Draft

The first draft, a turret-less version of this one with lighter armor and only laser blasters to defend itself, fell apart during testing once hit with a small missile. It walked with its legs directly under it. The glass cockpit was on top of the vehicle.

Errors: too heavy to walk without assistance, armor too light, joints not firmly attached, cockpit very vulnerable to aerial attack, weak defense system

[edit] Second Draft

The second draft was the first in the series to have small repulsorlift units just under the armor on the bottom. This was still not quite stable, as it still tilted a lot when it walked. It still had its legs underneath the body rather than sprawled to the sides. There was a turret on top of the body in place of the cockpit, but it was half the size of the one it has in the current version, and about a third as powerful. The cockpit was on the front of the vehicle, and made with blasterproof plastic. It would still shatter when hit with a medium sized missile or something larger.

Errors: Center of gravity unstable, cockpit vulnerable to moderately sized projectiles from the front, turret makes balance probelm worse, repulsorlift units not strong enough

[edit] Current Version

This version has many more, sronger repulsorlift units under it, and the leg configuration was totally different. Instead of straight under the body, they were out to the sides like a spider's. The stronger repulsorlift units allowed for a larger turret and body. This time around, the cockpit is on the bottom, and is made of two layers of VERY thick laserproof plastic, with a vacuum in between them like a thermos bottle. As an added feature to further protect the cockpit, there were two short-range missile turrets hidden beneath the body's outer layer of armor, one in front, and one in back. This discourages most infantry from trying to attack the cockpit from below.

Errors: Heavy duty seeking missiles can exploit the thinner layer of armor on the underside of the body
