The Cave Roof Aetripus is an underground species of Aetripus.
[edit] Biology
Cave Roof Aetripus hang from the ceilings of caves, as the name says. It is a type of water reed that evolved out of aquatic life, and its seeds dispersed into caves. The plant is actually a small seed, and when it flies onto a wall of ceiling, it digs into the rock with its sharp thorns, and opens up, revealing thin, scaly stalks. The plant then stays on the top, feeding off minerals in the cave walls. The Etcherain used to annually harvest these stalks as ritualistic items, but the possibility of there being "False Aetripus" living in the caverns, the harvests were deemed too dangerous and were banned.
