[edit] Overview
The Centapedus are an insectile race. They are green with yellow stripes along their entire body. They have a small mace on the their tales, along with several spines on the head. They have large mandibles and four arms, two strong arms (upper) and two small, skinny, and weak arms (lower). All of their characteristics are shared by all subspecies of their kind. The Centapedus have evolved on a rather large planet known as Blrince, the planet that all subspecies call home. The Centapedus have several subspecies which are the Firepedus, Crystalpedus, Spikeupedus, Spined Centapedus, Terapedus, Armorpedus, and the feared Gigapedus

The Centapedus have one of the largest empires in the galaxy. They are well known for being a great ally but as well as a devastating force to be reckoned with. They're empire is mainly traders. It is made up of them and they're subspecies. Each species in the empire play a different role. They control the outer parts of the galaxy but are moving closer to the center. It grows by buying other empires completely out or viciously attacking others. They have a grave dislike for Zealot and Warrior empires. They are friendly towards all other types of empires. The Centapedus make allies or enemies depending on the other empire's personality. If that empire is arrogant, boastful, or over confident, the Centapedus will wage war upon it. Much of their empire is actually built from fallen empires. They will defend their allies from any other empire, including defending them from the Grox. They're allies are almost completely protected, with Centapedus fighters patrolling all along the boundries of their empire and others. An Uber Turret is placed on almost every planet controlled by the Centapedus. This makes the ultimate defense. Most Empires have a lot more to gain if they ally the Centapedus.The exact number of allies out ways the number of enemies.
Expanding is one of the fastest things the Centapedus do. With their extreme intelligence, they have mastered the art of Terra forming. They can Terraform any T score0 planet to T score 3 just in a matter of minutes. They keep in their cargo a couple of species to fill in a food chain.
[edit] Clothing and Markings
The Centapedus take pride in their race. This is shown through their clothing. They wear certain parts of their armor according to what happens in the Centapedus history or in the history of their family unit. The Centapedus symbol is worn by all species of Centapedus (except the Gigapedus). Their symbol is a simple, three sunsets, one on top facing upward and two others facing each

Though it may seem as if the Centapedus would uphold The Galactic Code, they are actually very rebellious towards this code. The code states "fairness for all interactions between empires", the Centapedus response "If we were to be fair to our enemies, that would lead us ever closer to certain destruction"-Centapedus Commander, Jargin. l Though the Centapedus do not obey the Galactic Code many empires do nothing to stop them, for they fear that they would begin a war with an ally that has been protecting them for many years. Many empires that do not know about the Centapedus in person, but still have heard about them stay away also because they most likely heard that Centapedus are merciless in combat. Though many empires would fear to start a war, the Centapedus would actually try to resolve the problem diplomatically and if that doesn't work than war will start.
[edit] War Tactics
Centapedus are extremely skilled in the art of combat. They have been known to bring five star empires to their knees within a few hours and they have a reputation of never taking prisoners. Once a war is declared, the Centapedus will not give up until the opponent is wiped out. Fortunately for most empires, Centapedus tend avoid conflict and usually resolve it by using diplomatic means. When at war, the Centapedus use massive attacks to capture several planets at once. If one planet is successfully defended by the opposition, then the Centapedus will send another squad of ships from another captured planet. Once all planets have been captured (except for the home planet), they will ask the enemy to surrender one last time. If the enemy refuses, than the Centapedus will gather hundreds of ships and assault the planet. When doing this Centapedus will use powerful weapons such as the Anti-Matter Missiles and Anti-Matter Bombs.

[edit] The Falling Age
The Falling Age is a time when the Centapedus were still beginning the Tribal parts of their species and were just beginning to understand their existence. They were primitive, Adaptable and able to hunt with great ease. Then out of nowhere an outbreak of Controller Spiders appeared. The Centapedus had to kill tons of men, women, and children to control this out break. Many were forced to kill their own families, for controller spiders use the body and become very aggressive once they've found one. Many tribes were completely infested with controller spiders and their hosts, some tribes actually became secret nests. The Controller Spiders would infect several villagers and then hide before they are noticed and then begin to lay eggs to infect more and more Centapedus, thus creating a nest. oddly enough after over 12 years of fighting this menace, the infected Centapedus become less and less common. Soon just as fast as this happened, the infection vanished without a trace. To this day many are stilled puzzled by why this happened and how it disappeared just as quickly.
[edit] Exile of the Gigapedus
For many years, tension between all subspecies of Centapedus and the Gigapedus was extremely high. The Gigapedus have always thought that superior gentetics should rule over all others, while all other subspecies especially the Crystalpedus, thought that all should be equal. The Gigapedus thought that any baby that had physical disabilities or was mentally challenged, was not worthy, so the they tossed them out of the hatcheries. The Centapedus did not know they were doing this for quite some time. They did not know why the babies were disappearing or how. On one day while a mother went into the local hatchery she caught them stealing her young. For a while the Centapedus thought that it was only this particular Gigapedus who was taking them. Soon more were caught. That's when the Crystalpedus accused all Gigapedus of being Octauragawd's (the Centapedus devil) minions. This angered the Gigapedus, and so they started to murder the Crystalpedus. Soon the entire planet was abuzz with rumors about the Gigapedus. Soon they found evidence of what the Gigapedus were planning. They were planning to take over the entire Centapedus government. That's when war started. All Centapedus along with their subspecies were at war with the Gigapedus. The war lasted over 130 years. Until all Gigapedus were driven out of the cities. Once space technology was invented, the Gigapedus were banished from Blrince and forced out of the empire. The Gigapedus became bandits in space. They started raiding other empires and laying waste to civilizations. They grew and began to attack the Centapedus once they're empire was big enough. Soon the Gigapedus became an ally to the evil Hermicee Legion. This angered the Centapedus even further. This led to more war. Both empires are still currently at war.

Two years after the Gigapedus were banished, the Centapedus started to search for intelligent life. So far all colonies that were placed were on barren planets. The Centapedus were starting to become lonely and felt that there is no one else in the galaxy that was intelligent. After six years of construction and planning, the Centapedus launched a massive search, of over twenty thousand ships were sent out across their star cluster to search for any intelligence. Years of searching turned up nothing. They were not discouraged by this. They launched probes to search the star cluster. Soon one probe started catching strange radio signals, the Centapedus were excited about the whole thing. They started to launch even more probes to the area, and they picked up the signals too. The Centapedus knew they were on to something. Soon a ship was launched to search the area. The ship had one of every subspecies aboard it, and had a small radio on board to pick up the transmissions. As the ship neared it's destination the radio started to pick up signals. Unfortunately the ship could not find the exact planet or star where it was coming from. After many years of searching a strange object was spotted hovering over the colony Dvoiv. A signal came down. It was a message from a space faring empire. It said "Greetings we've seen your ships hovering above our colony. We didn't know who you were or why you didn't contact us. We are the Richer Empire and we welcome you into our territory under one condition. You buy at least one thing from our Bazaar!". This became known as Project S.F.L or Search For Life.
[edit] Fluor Fiend Wars
After about 200 years in the galaxy, the Centapedus encountered their first real threat. A five star empire known as the Fluor Fiend Empire. The war began when their allies, the Calerby, contacted the Centapedus for help and that the Fluor Fiend were attacking. The Centapedus responded by successfully defending colony. The Fluor Fiend counted that as an offense against them. They declared war upon the Centapedus. They soon attacked several Centapedus colonies at once. The Centapedus Military Rulers (CMR) was outraged by this and demanded to attack at once. During this war the Centapedus government was weak, so many decisions were not wise. The CMRs' decision was not approved by many of the Centapedus branches and citizens. The Fluor Fiend continued their relentless attacks. This angered the CMR even further. The WRO (Weapons Research Organization) soon found a new break through in proton weaponry, the Mega Proton Missile, and the new Justa Bomb. These new weapon breakthroughs allowed the Centapedus to fight back. Soon the Fluor Fiend attacked the Centapedus home world, Blrince, taking thousands of lives and two cities. This was the final straw. The CMRs' decision was now approved. With this new technology, the Centapedus viciously took back all captured colonies. The Centapedus also called upon the help of three allies, The Vectron, The Calerby, and The largest in the star cluster, the mighty Richers. All three empire fleets joined the Centapedus in the final assault upon their home world. The Fluor Fiend Empire pleaded for mercy and even offered to give them 1,000,000 spore bucks, but the Centapedus denied the offer and savagely attacked the every city. Without taking prisoners, the Centapedus wiped the Fluor Fiend off the face of the galaxy.
[edit] Introduction of the Hermicee
Several hundred years after the Flour Fiend wars, the Centapedus were starting to mysteriously lose contact with some of their ships, never to be seen again. They soon designated a nearby nebula as a cause due to the high levels of radiation detected from it. The Centapedus simply avoided that region of space, but it never seemed to solve the problem. It actually seemed to worsen it, as the "danger zone" was growing ever larger. Soon one of the Centapedus' allied races, the Vectron, complained about a planet being attacked by an unknown threat. The Centapedus assured the Vectron that it was going to be looked into. The Centapedus just saw the situation as a Grox raid. The "Grox raids" became worse, until the first Vectron planet that was attacked was destroyed. The planet itself wasn't destroyed, but it was heated to massive temperatures. The planet was known as "The Flaming Ball of Pink" due to it's pinkish color after the attack. This horrified the empires in the star cluster. The Centapedus set out an all out search for the culperate. Over 1,600 ships were sent out and only about 100 returned. None of the ships that survived knew what happened to the others. All they did know is that something was stalking them, and they were picking up blurry transmissions from creatures with very small and squeaky voices. Soon similar transmissions were picked up by other empires and the Centapedus' home planet, Blrince,. This worried the Centapedus. Then stories of a vicious empire known as the Hermicees were destroying other empires for pure entertainment. That startled the Centapedus and gave them a hunch that this was their mysterious destroyers. The Centapedus sent out a transmission asking "Why are you doing this?". Soon a mysterious ship with a peculiar shape arrived. That's when every screen on the planet Blrince appeared with a transmission from a short, stubby creature with several weapons surrounding it. The creature had a shell like structure upon his back. It said "We are the Hermicee Legion and we require that you pay us 40,000,000 moneez or you will suffer the same fate as your hideous allies. So PAY UP!". The Centapedus denied this request, but insisted to start a trade route saying that this will get them money and spice. The Hermicee Legion accepted their offer. The Centapedus soon saved their empire by creating an unstable relationship with the Hermicee Legion. They did this for the safety of their empire, but this did not garantee the safety of their allies, especially the Vectrons.
[edit] Blrince
Blrince is the home world of the Centapedus and their subspecies. It is a rich, lush T3 planet with a turquoise pigment in it's soil, this pigment is caused my a chemical released into the soil by a single celled organism, native all around the planet. Its plant life are usually fungal shaped, with mushroom like caps and gills on the top of each tree, bush, or grass. Life isn't as common as you'd think it would be on such a planet. Forests are scarce and flat lands are bountiful. Organisms have developed blue pigment to match their environment. Many Centapedus believe that the number of animals outnumbers plant life. Most animals that live on Blrince have developed insectile features, mammal like creatures are very rare. Though it is a T3 planet it has fairly dry weather and lack of oxygen, but the creatures of blrince have found a way around this problem for they have developed two sets of breathing organs, one the size of a football, the other the size of a human fist. The "football sized one" is the lungs wich take in oxygen, while the "fist" is an organ known as a Cordogak (cor-duh-gak) this takes in methane, which makes up 35% of the air in Blrince.
[edit] Seasonal Changes
Blrince goes through some major changes at the start of each year (439 earth days). During the Fall season, Blrince's foliage begins to lengthen about 3ft because the planet begins draw further from the sun, thus sunlight becomes out of reach. So the foliage stretches out further to store some of its precious energy for the harsh winter.This is the mating season for most mammal like creatures . The temperature in the hottest locations becomes 78 degrees Fahrenheit, while in the coldest becomes -54 degrees Fahrenheit, in the Winter they can drop 10 degrees more. Winter is the harshest for life in all of Blrince. The plants begin to recede into the ground and not allowing last minute grazers to feed upon them. The grazers have found a way around this though. With their tough exoskeletons and sharp claws, they can withstand the cold and uproot receded plants. Predators use a thick carpet of snow to their advantage and hide beneath it to ambush prey. Spring is where change is visible on a planetary scale. The Great Rivers that run along Blrince's surface become a green color. This is due to a type of algae that thrives in the conditions. This is when most plants begin emerge from the ground and bloom, for the plants on Blrince, blooming is when the color of leaves, caps, and stems change color. Spring is also the mating season for most insecticidal animals. Summer is when the trees and bushes begin to bare fruit. The fungal like plants develop large edible spores in between their gills ranging from turquoise, to purple. These spores make a nice treat for Centapedus. You might expect the summers to be unbearable, but in fact the hottest temperature on the planet's surface is 106 degrees, but underground can be 135. It is unknown why the underground cave systems are so hot and humid.
[edit] Creatures of Blrince
Blrinces wild life comes in a range of sizes, from the mighty tyrant known as the Herblore to the tiniest of things like a small unkown rock like insect that has yet to be named. Here are a few of them.
[edit] Herblore (Hexa-insectizoid)
The Herblore is also known as a hexabug because of its six eyes and six legs. They are a common species among Blrince and they do in fact come in many colors, such as jade, sapphire blue, and purplish but their exact height is unknown for they are to dangerous to get within 20 ft of them. They are highly aggressive and their tough skin allows for maximum protection. They have no natural enemies but are extremely susceptible to disease and have problems with tiny parasites. They are hunted by tribes for a test of strength and endurance. Herblore shells are were worn as armor in the Centapedus's tribal history. Many have a blue tint which allows it to blend in with the soil and most of its environment and the water it lives near. Its diet consists strictly on leaves and caps, since the plant life is in a smaller supply, Herblores form groups to help spread out and find plants. The Herblore can have up to six young (another reason for its nickname). The young stay around their mother for up to 12 years, and feed on plants from birth. Family groups are extremely large holding up to 30 individuals that are all relatives. Sometimes family groups merge to create a massive heard 60 or more strong. Herblore are found all over Blrince.
[edit] Pot Bellied Worm (adip-gastr-ed)
The Pot Bellied worm's name comes from the extremely large, double chambered, stomach. It feeds on almost everything living ,it can find. It feeds by clutching its prey with its massive, tooth filled, mouth. Once latched on, it will never let go and will rapidly swing its prey up and down. While the prey continues to struggle, it will begin to devour it live. With this trait and its brutish behavior, Centapedus compare them to Hermicees. The Pot Bellied Worm is an ambush predator because it is to sluggish to catch up to anything with its massive body. Since it is so veracious, it has little known predators and is not afraid of anything. With its massive girth, Pot Bellied Worms can eat up to half a ton of food in less than 24 hours. They've been known to commit cannibalism and have even walked into Centapedus cities and have tried to devour its inhabitants. The Hermicee put these worms to use in their own schemes for biological weapons. They have been known for dumping over 30 Pot Bellies into enemy cities and then locking the city down so the civilians will be eaten alive. One thing that the Centapedus highly prize is the Pot Bellie's tasty, fatty, flesh witch has been marketed at auctions with other empires for 3,000 sporebucks every 10 pounds. Many empires say that it is worth the high price it sells for and that it is the most delicious they have ever tasted in their lives. Some farms can be seen all around Blrince farming these gluttons. The Pot Bellies live solitary and lay eggs in bushels of over 150 but not much survive because once the young emerge, they only have minutes to escape the jaws of their mother and other predators. Once out of danger, the young begin eating small creatures about the size of squirrels. Soon the young double in size and begin to start gaining a large appetite. They soon try to eat things twice their size.
[edit] Controller Spider (Mento-sumpt)
Controller Spiders are the most destructive species on Blrince. It has been the largest nemesis to many species, including the Centapedus. It has played a roll in Centapedus history, such as The Falling Age. This is an ancient event that happened just when the Centapedus entered Tribal stage when an outbreak of Controller Spiders somehow traveled across the Great Rivers and started to infect Centapedus. Controller Spiders live by inserting a stinger, located on their backside, into the back of the victim's head. Once the stinger is inserted, the nerves begin to connect to the host's. This allows complete control of all functions of the body, the host's pigment changes as well and matches the spider's. While being controlled, the host's nerves begin to flare uncontrollably causing immense pain and seizures. Once controlled, the victim has no control over it's functions except for thoughts. The spider gains some of the diet and abilities of it's victim witch expands and helps nourish the spider further. After many years of control, the host's brain begins to be sucked away into the stinger as a last resort nutrition meal for the spider as it wanders the plains of Blrince for another victim. If the spider can find one within a day, it will live but if it cant it will try to use the brain meal to survive another day but will soon die after. This is another bio-weapon that the Hermicee love to use against enemy empires. They use them for torture instead of attack and they will if they capture a leader of the other empire they will infect him/her and send him/her directly back while infected to as a warning to other empires. The Centapedus are just beginning to understand these parasitic creatures.
[edit] Rosehead Roach (Antho-capit)
The Roosehead Roach is the planetary symbol of Blrince. They are have been the beloved companions of Centapedus for many years and have been seen as their greatest companions such as how dogs are to humans. Like humans, Centapedus have been breeding Roseheads to match their needs and now have over 1,000 different breeds of them. They aren't exactly the most cuddly of pets but Centapedus choose them for their social and loving personalities. It is still unknown why they act this way for they are solitary killers. They hunt by running down their prey and the rapidly slashing and scraping their teeth against it. The Roaches mouth has the strangest structures of any creature. It has a hollow, tooth filled, upper jaw and two slender lower jaws. This unique feature allows for a unique lifestyle and diet. It also has no eyes but its smell and hearing are the most advanced on the planet witch allows extreme accuracy of where its prey is. They have been trained to sniff out any illegal weapons and Hermicee stowaways. They have short stubby legs but have incredible speeds, they can hit up to 45 mph and ram into predators if given the chance. For some reason they are very docile towards centapedus, this maybe do to the fact that many Roseheads have been tamed and then re-released into the wild by ancient Centapedus tribes. They may approach centapedus curiously and then begin to show signs of affection, strangely they are more friendly to Centapedus than their own kin. Some Roseheads have been trained to ward off Hermicee and to scare off intruders.
[edit] Bouquet Slug (Kil-or-verm)
The Bouquet Slug is by far the strangest creature on Blrince. It has nine jaw flaps on each side of its mouth and has two tiny mandibles on within this mess of flailing teeth. They live in small family groups and hunt by ambush. Their jaws are especially designed to rip, scrape and tear into their prey and rivals to mortally wound it and get into the soft insides. The teeth and jaws are tough and powerful witch allows it to take off any shells or exoskeletons of its prey. It has a bite pressure of 8,000 pounds psi ,almost a half more than a crocodile's bite (5,000 psi). Unlike what many people would think, these creatures actually rarely eat but when they do it is in small portions. They are mainly scavengers and prefer cold instead of warm flesh, to sustain them. When it is time to mate, males would crowd in locations and find a female but not fight with other males, instead they all open their mouths and the female will judge them by the mouth size. Unusually, males never fight during mating time they only fight after mating season. Most fights are over territory and usually end in a deep, but not fatal, wound. An underground organization known as E.C.T has been trading these and other exotic creatures for money. With this trade going on, many empires pit these creatures against each other for money and entertainment. At the start of its life, the Bouquet slug starts out as a tiny blue worm the size of a grain of rice. Whats unique about these young is not their size, but their diet because they feed on spores from the large fungi that grow. After just a week they are 5 in long and from then on they double in size every year. When 10 in they begin to acquire a taste for rotting and living flesh. Once at the length of 10 ft they are a quarter ways through their life and stop growing. Once they die, their bodies for some reason decompose within a year. This strange phenomenon may be do to the fact that they have a thick slime around them that kills bacteria. Centapedus use this as a cleaning agent.
[edit] Sting Hog (Acu-porc)
The Sting Hog is a rare mammal like creature that stands 6ft tall and weighs 180 pounds. It is tall and slender witch allows for fast sprints and careful navigating. Out of all the wild creatures among Blrince, this is by far the most intelligent. Its pink texture is actually a warning to most predators saying that it is poisonous, witch it actually is. For the Sting Hog has a long tale that comes from the back end and curves towards the front. This stinger has the most powerful in all of Blrince, and combined with the Sting Hog's large brain it is extremely dangerous. The Sting Hog uses its stinger very wisely and will only use it if physically touched or stared down for a period of time. They are extremely athletic and have been known to run around an area for over an hour and look as if it had just started. They run with great speed but not enough to outrun its number one predator, the Rosehead Roach. Since they live in packs, they have a slight advantage over Roseheads, with their large brains they constantly disperse and then re-organize to confuse the hungry Rosehead. Once the Rosehead begins to become more veracious, the Sting Hogs quickly disperse one last time and then change direction and ward the Rosehead off with angry growls, horns, and stingers. Most of the time, the Rosehead retreats but if hungry enough will try to attack a vulnerable Hog the outcome is random and may end up with a poisoned Rosehead or a fully devoured Sting Hog. Sting Hogs have been known to pick up sticks with their mouth, tilt their heads slightly and scrape off spores from underneath tree caps. They also use their brain power in fights over females by swinging their heads side to side trying to avoid the oppositions horns. In these battles the Sting Hog that is worn out or mortally wounded is the loser, the winner can end up having up to three mates. When born, Sting Hog young are extremely vulnerable to attack so they stick to their mother for 5 years and then become a member of their group. Groups are highly organized and advanced, they have alphas, foragers, janitors, care takers, and bodyguards. Each job is assigned at different ages, the young are janitors, the middle aged are foragers and bodyguards, females are caretakers, and the eldest but not to old, are alphas.
[edit] Snelly (Micro-amor-imic)
The Snelly is a tiny, pink, curious little snail like creature. Many say it bares resemblance to a Hermicee even though no Hermicees ever evolved on Blrince. Not much is known about tiny creature for it spends most of its time underground searching for tiny roots. Do to its curious appearance and odd behavior, many think it is actually larvae of some other undiscovered creature that spends its life underground. Snellies are described, by other empires, to be the cutest and cuddliest little thing. Their large eyes suggest that they are nocturnal or live in deep and dark caves. This also explains why they're rarely seen and why their pigment is so bland. They seem to not be afraid of anything when waddling out in the open and for some reason go unnoticed by larger predators. If spotted the Snelly will just stare curiously at its enemy, this stare seems to have a hypnotic sense to it, for even Cenatpedus seemed hypnotized when staring down a Snelly. It may leave the predator staring at the ground for several minutes while the Snelly waddles away unnoticed. Crystalpedus have been known to worship these tiny creatures during ancient times because of its stare and large beady eyes. Many actually believe it is the ancient ancestor to Hermicee and that Hermicees actually originated on Blrince but then traveled across the Milky Way and left the Snelly behind. This theory is highly unlikely though the Hermicee say that Snellies do seem familiar. Another theory is that Snellies are actually an evasive species and came from the Fluor Fiend wars when a E.C.T cartel was destroyed and let loose many species into the planet, but not much supports this because ancient Crystalpedus tribes had drawings of what looked like glowing Snellies. The glow maybe do to the fact they either they were holy or they did in fact glow if there was glowing Snellies this lead to the fact that Snellies are not one of a kind but in fact an entire group their own.
[edit] Pillar Worm (Styl-verm)
The Pillar Worm is a 15 ft long caterpillar like creature that lives in volcanic regions of Blrince. It can withstand extreme heat and can blend in with solid, volcanic, rock. They are called Pillar Worms not because of their appearance but because in ancient times, they were always described as "pests who live in the mountains of fire and bit the foundations of our holy areas", as in they ate pillars of holy churches. They are the only creature on Blrince that have rocks in they're diet. They use the rocks minerals and transport it to their tough skin to further strengthen it. Pillar Worms usually spend their time around ancient ruins and volcanoes due to the high bacteria and mineral content. They have a small pair of mandibles for warding off predators, such as the Pot Bellied Worm. To stay safe from this glutton, they stay in hot rocky locations and if not near one they will fight to the death, unfortunately the Pot Bellie almost always wins. Pillar Worms also have a pair of long arms that help it climb through the molten rock fields and also have helped it climb pillars. These arms have a gripping force of 40psi, witch allows for excellent gripping. They lay their eggs directly over lava so no predators could get to them and since they're good at climbing, they just climb back the way they're mother came.
