The Dias-Faen (Die-Feign) is a member of what humans commonly refer to as birds.The Dias-Fean like other birds have a beak, feathers, and talons, but lack the ability of flight.These creatures have hallow bones, a distinctive avian trait, that allows them to move very quickly, up to a recorded ninty-five miles an hour on foot and have an average reaction time of .05 making the species exeptional pilots. The Dias-Fean is particularly weak, the first Dias-Fean where bred for speed to get away from their biggest predator, the Gigas, a huge but slow carnivore.
The Dais-Fane's arms and legs are long and thin with three bony phalanges. Its toes stretches out into a thin V shape, while It has two long fingers, and one shorter "thumb". These long thin fingers combined with the .05 reaction time has given the Dias-Fane a reputation for being great at building intricate and complicated things without mistake. Many Of them learn how to work with their toes too allowing the creatures to work on one thing while experimenting with another.The Body of the Dias-Fean resembles the body of most birds when it comes to organ placement, however they all have an extra heart and set of lungs to sustain maximum speeds for long periods of time. the back of the Dias-Fean is coveredin long thin boney plates that give some defense to the otherwise frail bird. Its feathers are very small and stick tightly to the bird cutting down drag and makes the Dias-Fean aerodynamic. The Dias-Fean has a long neck that has a unique pattern of bones keeping it and the head stable. On the head is a beak, a set of triple eyes, and a crown-like protrusion. The beak is made largely of a strong Keratin that is further strengthened by a vitamin found in the sap of a tree native to the Dias-Fean homeworld. the beak also has two small hole near the end for smelling. The Dias-Fean's eyes are protected by a thick third eyelid that gives the birds better vision at higher speeds. Finally, the crown on the head of the creature is soft, but hardens during times of greeat emotion.
The Dias-Fean are not intelligent, not the most intelligent, but smart enough to adapt to most situations. After the first decade, a tiny Feanling will go into a dreamlike stae, and when they emerge, they will seek out an object that willdetermine what they will specialize in, a master of the trade chosen wil teach him and a few others for the next decade, and the bird will continue the trade until he is one hundred, then he will tutor his own aprentice. When the Dias-fean is done teaching, it can choose to do whatever it wishes.
