[edit] Overview
Draco Cruisers are the mid-sized ship and a staple of a Draco fleet. Their balance speed and power makes them invaluable. Because these ships have larger crews, they are capable of performing maintenance on themselves. As an added bonus, their size and shape allow them to serve as temporary brides for units over rivers or canyons.
[edit] Armor
As cruisers have a large crew on them and are very important to any battle, they are equipped with a minimum of 8 feet of armor. To compensate for this, the ship uses ion propulsion engines.
[edit] Propulsion
Cruisers in the Draco fleet are equipped with 4 ion propulsion engines for overall speed and 6 medium sized plasma-based rockets for initial acceleration. In order to take part in atmospheric combat, the ship is also equipped with anti-gravity thrusters which even the top scientists can't really explain, so don't ask.
[edit] Draco Cruisers
[edit] Ion Cruisers
Weapons
- 2 double barrel ion cannon turrets (180 degree arc)
- 8 double barrel ion turrets (2 on on each wing, 1 on the top and 1 on the underside (360 degree arc))
- 1 rear firing ion cannon turret (180 degree arc)
- 4 double 10 barrel chain guns (for anti fighter combat, placed on wings)
[edit] Proton Cruisers
Weapons
- 2 double barrel proton cannon turrets (180 degree arc)
- 16 double barrel proton turrets (4 on each wing, 2 on the top, 2 on the underside (270 degree arc))
- 2 double barrel proton cannon turret (90 degree arc, rear firing)
- 4 double 10 barrel chain guns (for anti fighter combat)
[edit] Chaingun Cruisers
Weapons
- 2 double barrel guided missile launchers.
- 1 rear firing double barrel guided missile launcher.
- 1 double 10 barrel chain gun (rear firing, 180 degree arc)
- 20 double 10 barrel chain guns (5 on each wing, 2 on the top, two on the underside, one on the side 270 degree arc and 360 degree arc on the side guns)
[edit] Missile Cruisers
Weapons
- 2 double barrel guided missile launchers.
- 1 rear firing double barrel guided missile launcher.
- 8 double barrel guided missile launchers (2 on on each wing, 1 on the top and 1 on the underside (360 degree arc))
- 4 double 10 barrel chain guns (for anti fighter combat)
[edit] Seige Cruisers
Special Notes: These cruisers are specially equipped for attacking ground targets. They need an escort to handle air supperiority issues.
Weapons
- 4 Large bomb bays for huge payload, for bomb types, see Draco Bombers
- 1 double barrel ion cannon turret (180 degree arc)
- 1 double barrel proton cannon turret (180 degree arc)
- 8 double barrel guided missile launchers (2 on on each wing, 1 on the top and 1 on the underside (360 degree arc))
[edit] Quick Attack Cruisers
Special Notes: These cruisers are unique in design and method of attack, the have similar design to the troop carrier except they can be any length, and have a huge amount of weapons. All of the weapons are placed on the side allowing the ship to fly by the target quickly but still shoot it multiple times.
Propulsion
- 3 ion propulsion engines (overall speed)
- 3 plasma-based engines (acceleration)
Weapons
- any even number of double barrel proton, missile, or chaingun cannons. The average cruiser is 80 feet long, so the average quick attack cruiser has 160 cannons (2 rows, 80 cannons on each side)
- 2 10-barrel chaingun turrets for anti-fighter defense. (360 degree arc)
