This is a Dracoptera Arborus, or "Dragonfly Tree". It is a plant that has insect-like seeds. After it is fully grown, it hatches eggs from a hive-like organ and small dragonfly-like seeds fly out and look for mates. Once they find a mate and their eggs are fertilized, they find a good place to dig and plant themselves there for the rest of their lives. Once their body transforms into a sapling, it looses its eyes and its wings turn into leaves. The tentacles on the back turn into roots and the body into a trunk. After it becomes fully grown, its abdomen forms into a hive-like organ and all the fertilized eggs from when it was a "dragonfly" mature and burst out to mate. Like any tree it gathers nutrients and water from its roots and performs photosynthesis with its purple leaves. After the babies leave it lives the rest of its life as a tree, but never reproduces again.
