The Hadarii are four-winged avian beings. They are known to be ardent spiritualists and are considered difficult to communicate with given their propensity for constantly alluding to complex concepts, and their tendancy to become offended easily. Their culture is largely peaceful, but if incensed they become fierce and tenacious. Another strange feature is their unusually long lifespan given their small size - they attribute this to their faith, though the truth is undoubtedly much more obscure.

[edit] Biology
Hadarii are fairly short, and are slender in build. They have two pairs of wings and also two pairs of short arms which protrude from the fronts of their bodies. They are covered in fluffy, downy feathers across their whole body, though their tail, crest and wing feathers are longer and more elaborate. There are several subraces of Hadarii which have varying colours and/or patterns on their plumage. Their faces are quite elaborate, featuring several striking feathers around the eyes and to the sides of their curved, powerful beak.
They are quite frail creatures, their bones hollow and brittle so that they are light enough to fly. As a result, they are rather easily injured and tend to shy away from direct combat with anything. However, their several wings allow them to flee or move with astonishing aerial speed and grace. They mainly eat smaller critters along with herbs, nuts and just about anything; they are omnivores and have a rather good digestive system, enabling them to eat just about anything that is not completley rotten.
[edit] Culture
Hadarii culture is extremely devoted to their spiritual religion, which is difficult to translate and understand. It is not a deific theology - no gods or anything of the like are present. Instead, the concept is somewhat more centered around the self and some form of inner harmony or disharmony. The name of the concept translates roughly as "Fifteen Inner Discord Kings", symbolising what they see as fifteen aspects of any individuals existance that must be attuned correctly to co-operate with each other if an individual is to become fulfilled and complete. Some of these concepts are basic, such as Body and Mind, but others are more exotic and difficult to understand.
The Hadarii believe the goal and reward of following this path is the ascension to a new form of being altogether, transcending the need to exist in several phases at once, instead "solidifying" their presence in any given one of their choosing. As there are fifteen of these phases, different branches of the Hadarii religion exist, though they are in harmony with each other as they realise they all correspond to vital parts of being able to master existance. This has contributed to Hadarii society being almost completley peaceful, at least internally.
Unfortunatley, the Hadarii are rather easy to offend when faced with some concepts. Robotic lifeforms, such as the Wexxian, infuriate the Hadarii as they consider such things to be soulless, twisted parodies of true living things. Also, science-oriented cultures like the xx are considered perverse and horrifying by the Hadarii, seeing them as twisting things from the paths that should be taken by any lifeform to achieve "truth of existance".
Regardless of this, the Hadarii recently consider themselves on somewhat of a mission to bring the Fifteen to other races they consider deserving of sharing in their enlightenment.]]
