More a portable spacestation than spacecraft, this is the ultimate in portable Arkarian weaponry. With a retractable electromagnetic acceleration cannon, this spacestation could crush the Death Star[[1]]with nary a thought.
[edit] How Is This Possible?
The MAC(GA) uses banks of electromagnets arranged along the bore of a large cannon-like structure, which consists of two large pylons and 2000 3 meter wide electromagnets. The station itself spins along the axis the cannon is placed on, increasing the rate of rotation and the destruction that ensues.
[edit] The Firing Sequence
A 2 to 2.5 meter wide boreshot, consisting mostly of iron and and titanium, is loaded into the firing chamber, near the center of the station. The station begins the cannon's spin sequence, usually getting the cannon assembly up to 10000 rpm before disengaging the cannon from the rest of the station, leaving only guidance wheels to ensure that the station stays fully assembled. Being placed permanently in space, the cannon continues its spin until the brakes are applied. The firing chamber stays stationary, as does the rest of the station. The firing chamber and the cannon stay connected with huge carbon bearings, this is so that friction is lessened and the bearings are not shot out of the cannon.

As the cannon spins, the electromagnets are charging up and switching between North and South, much like a maglev. The boreshot is South-charged, so the first electromagnet attracts it until a certain point, and then changes to South to push the boreshot away. This happens over the two kilometer length of the cannon, which is also spinning at 10000 rpm. By the time the boreshot exits the cannon it is going thousands of miles per hour and spinning even faster. When the boreshot hits its target, it rips through it, eventually coming to a stop.

As the designs call for massive amounts of hard to manufacture parts, to build one of these is a very long and time-consuming process, so long that three supercruisers are built in the time it takes to build one of these. As yet only two are known to exist. The Arkarian government decided to go with more conventional MACs and save these for planetary assaults.
