[Image:http://sv1.letmehost.com/sv1/20/SYLAUXE_ANCESTOR_0.swf] From earth the naked human eye can see about 9110 stars. One of these stars supported a small innocent looking planet called harvest IV (that means four) it is here, at this location, that we begin our tale. In a small lake in the northwestern part of the Arneo plains the beginnings of an empire is currently munching on a microbe. For reference sake let’s call this one mike. Mike has lived for a whopping seventeen hours, and is the beginning of the sylauxe. The proboscis morphed into small teeth, and the heat sensing organs elongated. Let us skip ahead a bit, as it would take too long otherwise. This is rocky: [1]

He may seem cute and cuddly while he’s small, but just wait till he grows up…

Rocky was merely swimming along, when two Raijuiik attacked! This is what happened next: [2]

Rocky has leveled up!

Chapter 2

As bob wandered the shallow waters of the lake, he spotted a school of pincer fish. Primal instincts and pure hunger rattled around his brain as gave chase. This is what happened next: [3]

{We’re almost ready to move onto land! Bob just needs a little more food, this area doesn’t have a lot of prey available, so lets move over to that underwater cave.}

Bob peered around the rough stone wall into the inky blackness of the cave. Most creatures wouldn’t be able to see the sleeping glimer eels. Then again, most creatures don’t have heat sensitive organs mounted on their heads. Bob sneaked around the corner, he was almost close enough to grab on of them…

“Rrriiiiiie!”

Just as Bob got close enough, a sentry, partially hidden by a large boulder, sounded the alarm. Thousands of glimer eels swarmed through the cave entrance, all frantically trying to escape. Bob pushed of the lake floor, thrusting out its powerful arms, and then: [4]

Bob has leveled up!

This is Arnold: [Image:Image:http://sv1.letmehost.com/sv1/20/sylauxe_ancestor_4.swf]

Chapter 3

Arnold hesitated for only a second, then he charged out of the shallows, and onto dry land. Surveying his surroundings, Arnold found he was on a sandy beach, with large rocks strewn all around. As he started to move towards a large outcrop of rocks, he noticed one of the rocks was moving. It was a razor crab!

Arnold charged at the crab before it could turn around and react. Using its powerful hands, Arnold crushed its shell into pieces.

After scooping out and eating the meat, Arnold moved over to a small stand of palm trees up the beach. Arnold noticed a small dugout area nearby that would make a very good place to sleep for the night. With all new instincts appearing in his head, Arnold got to work, dragging leaves over to the hole.

Chapter 4

-=Arnold has built a nesting area=- [8]

With a shelter built, and fresh water nearby, Arnold only main concern at the moment is food. After unsuccessfully searching the beach for more crabs, Arnold moved further into the small palm forest that separated the plains form the lake. As he left the beach, he noticed an odd trail that looked like something had recently dragged it’s body out of the lake and up the beach. He ignored it for now, but he didn’t know that this was the trail of his species old prey, the glimer eel, except now it was a glimer slug. As he neared the tropical bushes at the border of the forest, three small creatures suddenly sprang towards him. It was a trio of Arnitu-ravens!

The speedy creatures quickly got into position; the first stood in front of Arnold, just beyond striking distance, while the other two took position on each side of him. Arnolds muscles tensed as he prepared to smack down the first Arnitu who attacked. Then, as one, they pounced and…

(Don’t be confused by the video, those are spikes on the bottom of the Arnitu ravens.)

Chapter 5

[10]

Arnold smacked the first raptor down with a skull crushing blow. A second one pounced at his left side and received a kick that knocked the air from its’ lungs and fractured a couple of ribs. Before Arnold was able to get to the third arnitu, it pounced and left a deep gash in his front right leg. “ Haaarruuuuu!” He screamed in surprise and agony. Arnold lifted his back right leg as high as he could, and brought down on the last creatures head. Arnold was panting as the adrenaline left his body. Once he got his breath back his primitive mind took stock of his situation; his left arm was numb and throbbing, his right front leg was starting to clot, but he had three good carcasses, and there was a tree full of edible food just a little ways away.

[11]

With plenty of food, water, and a shelter, Arnold realized that nature was calling for him to pass on his genes to a new generation. He needed to find a mate.

Chapter 6

If Arnold was going to attract a mate, he needed to build a new nest. He wasn’t what you would call sentient yet, but his intelligence was high enough for him to start a mental list of what he would need to build a nest. Mental list can be seen here: [12]

Also, if you want to see what the layout of the new nest will be like, here it is: [13]

Arnold did a quick mental check of his memory, There wasn’t enough grass in the forest or beach, and he had only seen bamboo near the opposite edge of the forest. The palm trees didn’t have sticks he could use, but the forest did have a small grove of aclamatt flowers. He would have to visit the other edge of the forest, the plains, the aclamatt grove, and the single large glow fungus tree on a tiny island nearby. Now begins “The journey for a nest” Here’s a map of Arnolds current knowledge of the region:

Book 2 Chapter 1: One small step for man…

“Be open to your dreams, people. Embrace that distant shore. Because our mortal journey is over all too soon.” -David Assael

Although it may seem to you that our buddy Arnold has been living on the beach for less than a week, it’s actually been about four months.(I skipped ahead of time to get to the good parts.) This is the first chapter of book two, while book one was more about the development of the sylauxe species as a whole, this one will deal mostly with Arnold and his journey to attract a mate. So come with me, down to a familiar burrow on a familiar beach, a place where the anthem of sylauxe is about to truly begin.

Arnold began his trudge to the aclamatt grove just before the sun peaked over the forest. His trip was more or less uneventful until about halfway through the next day, that’s when he began to see the signs. They were subtle at first, a few little red vine hanging off a rock, soon they became thicker and more numerous. Arnold was nearly there when he saw the first one. Arnold discovered a carnage root. [The carnage root is a deadly fungus that takes over a victims body and transforms them into a horrifying monster]

The creature let out a horrifying screech, like a mix between a crying baby, and screeching crow. In the distance, Arnold heard the sound of approaching footsteps…

Book 2 Chapter 2

[16]

Arnold ran through the grove, grabbing a few flowers on the way. He could hear hundreds of footsteps crashing through the forest behind him, he was too badly out-numbered for a head on fight. As he came into a clearing, he noted that the carnage roots were falling back, apparently too much direct sunlight bothered them. This is his current position: [17]

Now that he was in the plains, Arnold decided to begin gathering grass. Afterwards, with grass in hand, Arnold made his way to the bamboo shoots. Later, after gathering bamboo and sticks, Arnold began work on his nest.

Book 2 Chapter 3

Arnolds nest was finished: See finished nest here: http://sv1.letmehost.com/sv1/20/nest_finished.swf Now he needed to attract a mate. First, Arnold gathered food; a pregnant female sylauxe wouldn’t be able to forage for food. Then, he went down the beach to where he had seen some female sylauxe, and did a mating dance.

This is the sylauxe mating dance: [18] Darn it, he forgot the jazz hands! Oh well, Arnold was able to attract a mate anyways. This is Sheila: [ http://sv1.letmehost.com/sv1/20/sylauxe_ancestor_4.swf] Isn’t she beautiful? (Note: That was a rhetorical question!)

Arnold then led Sheila to his nest and {CENSORED!}

Book 2 Chapter 4

Three months later, the first true sylauxe children are born, here is their info:

Sylauxe Picture: [19]

Common name: Sylauxe (sie-law-ks) Vertebrata-Mammalia-Marsupialia (Vertebrates) (mammals) (marsupials [kangaroos, opossums, etc.]) Diet: Consists mainly of glimer slugs, raptor ants, arnit land-ravens, and glow-fungus trees.

The Sylauxe is a hairless tan skinned marsupial that stalks the arneo plains for food. Sylauxe have four triple jointed legs that end in toe-less feet. Normally it's feet are firmly planted so that the ends of its feet form the edges of a large square, this allows the top-heavy animal to run at about 18 miles-per-hour. When in this position the sylauxe averages about 10 feet tall. When fighting other sylauxe over territory they raise up to their full height of 12 feet which lowers their speed to barely 3 Mph. The two short arms on the sylauxe are each tipped with two stubby yet immensely powerful fingers which it uses’ to rip chunks out of carcasses and glow-fungus. Although it lacks any true eyes, The combination of it’s large height and powerful heat sensors give the sylauxe a large range of sight on the open plains. Because of their large size, sylauxe only give birth to one or two offspring every 3 years. During the first 4 months after birth, the young sylauxe are kept in a small pouch on the mothers back. The male sylauxe has a small horn on it’s head. Scientists do not yet know what purpose, if any, this horn has.
