(The capital letter in the article's title is due to a technical limitation of wiki sites. The correct spelling of this race's name is "xx" with no capitalisation; this is due to the race's paticularly unorthodox speech patterns.)

The xx (pronounced "icks" or "ix" in human english) are a race comparable to a cross between squids, eels and crabs on Earth. They inhabit the stars around the Auriga constellation, but are not talkative about which is their true homeworld on which they evolved. They occupy rather strange oceans that consist of water in which the oxygen element has largely been replaced with sulfur - how this happened is completley unknown. They are unusual furthermore in that they are asexual, yet display mammalian tendancies such as pairing for life.

A size comparison between xx and Humans.

xx are a rather strange combination, looking akin to something of a chimera of sorts from human legends. Their body is long and thin like an eel, and is used for swimming through the water. For attacking and defending, they sport claws on both arms - one set is long and scissorlike, used for cutting, and the other is like a broad clamp used to hold prey in place. They also have spikes on the end of their tail for clubbing pursuers with or dissuading bites, and they have three tentacles at the front of their head, used to either hold things or place them in the mouth (which is located under the base of the three tentacles) for eating. They have good field vision due to their six eyes, arranged about their head to see in as many directions as possible.

Despite looking like they may be some kind of cephalopod, they are distinct from normal species due to their strange mix of habits. They are asexual, having no distinct males or females, but require another member of their species to successfully breed. Despite being egg-laying aquatic creatures, they display mammalian tendancies such as pairing for life or grouping together in protective colonies. They lay a large amount of eggs - most of these do not hatch, the average successful hatch rate is around 1 in every 50 eggs. This prevents them from overpopulating and destroying themselves. The average xx will only have around 4 successful offspring during their life.

xx do not breathe in the same way as most aquatic lifeforms do; though they have vestigal gills from their early evolution, they have very advanced skin pores that absorb sulfur (the mineral needed to saturate their blood) from the water around them. Since sulfur is in nearly limitless supply due to the planet's atmospheric cycle, they can breathe continually. As of such, they do not require a heart, instead having filters from the pores that deliver the sulfur directly to their vital organs, which are all contained in a small sac of blood. This eliminates the need for artieries/veins and such, as their blood remains saturated through constant filtering, and desaturated blood simply rises back towards the skin through osmosis. Unfortunatley, this renders the xx paticularly susceptible to suffocation and poisoning in bad water. Poison or undesired chemical elements are in paticular very deadly to the xx, since their pore filters cannot filter certain elements and deliver them straight to the blood or organs, resulting in a painful death.

Due to their unusual blood system, removing a limb from an xx will not kill it, or even cause it much pain - the arms do not require as much blood as the vital organs. The xx's good knowledge in biology has allowed them to gain access to growing replacement limbs which can then be grafted on to replace lost ones. Removing the head will not even kill an xx instantly - the body will almost immediatley stop functioning, but the head will continue operation until it dies of starvation. Nevertheless, this is extremely painful to the xx and will render them irrevocably insane and hysterical within a few minutes due to lack of nervous and hormonal input.

The xx later found through their discoveries that they, as a race, are very resistant to psychic manipulation of any kind. Likewise, the xx themselves did not have a concept for psychics until taught about it by other races, highlighting the lack of natural aptitude xx have for it. The prevalent theories among xx to explain this, are that the xx mind is either too expansive, or the structure of the xx mind is too unusual to allow for anything other than internal processes going unmolested by outside interference, yet at the same time being unable to reach out and affect anything outside. Another theory, though less popular, goes by the apparent generalisation that xx come off as less emotionally pronounced than other races. After some research, the xx found somewhat of a correlation between emotional aptitude and psychic aptitude, though exceptions do exist.

Even before the xx attained true sapience, they were unquenchably inquisitve beings, always looking into things and chasing whatever caught their interest or attention. This trait traced back to even their cellular times - suprisingly, their rampant thirst for more knowledge or experiences did not stifle their evolution and proliferation at all. They eventually became sea creatures, and from there they evolved up to sapience, banding into several tribes. The claws, tentacles and tail they had evolved allowed them quite a degree of object manipulation, and they found themselves crafting tools and the like.

[edit] Tribal

Their tribal times were somewhat harsh owing to the fact that centralised xx culture had not came about as of yet, resulting in violence, but curiously few deaths given the scope of the conflicts. Most of the deaths caused were owed to accidental use of excessive force or the like. From this point, the rule that it is absolutley forbidden for one xx to kill another came into force; a rule normally applied in many cultures across the galaxy, yet not always adhered to. The xx managed to obey it rigidly, perhaps a product of their developed intellects. Nevertheless, the tribal times were far from easy due to xx finding ways to drive one another from resource-rich areas, impeding their progress.

[edit] Civilised

In spite of this usual inter-species competition and the like, the xx managed to bring themselves up to more and more advanced stages through theorising, researching, discovering and the like. They formed a culture centred around knowledge and science. Religions that had been formed in tribal times fell out of favour, considered disproved and therefore worthless in the eyes of the xx, who favored the comfort of knowledge and progress before anything else. They eventually made a startling discovery - they were far from the first sapient species to have come to their world. The world outside the oceans was unbearably harsh, most of the life having been burned away into the dusty dunes that made up the landmasses. Relics of a civilisation long dead were found, and the xx were inspired to one mass push for knowledge on the subject.

The period was somewhat difficult, xx often falling over each other to get to the big discoveries first, to formulate reports, to figure it all out, but most importantly, to know. It would not be until their spacefaring age that they would piece it together - somehow, the atmosphere of their world had been partially burned away, allowing in far more radiation than was safe, cooking all land and air creatures on the world. Somehow the oceans didnt boil away, and they were the only place where life could safely form, the harsh radiations too scattered to do much damage. These revelations only fuelled the xx curiosity and drive for knowledge even more, eventually pushing them past the threshold and into a more advanced age.

[edit] Early Advanced Age

xx culture revolves around pursuit of knowledge and discovery. Even from an early age, xx are curious and will explore as much as they can, and look for reasons as to why something works or why something is as it is. The highest profession one can hold in xx culture is a scientist or a pioneer - they are revered much like generic celebrities in human culture. Many of their myths and stories revolve around a scientist and a pioneer inventing and using something to resolve the problem at hand. Their heores are always ones who look into everything possible, and the quick one who jumps to conclusions early and the like always meets an unplesant end.

Despite this, their progress has not been quick due to dissention over exactly WHAT it is the xx should look into. It is a largely evident factor that xx are prone to arguing over what project or research to spend their resources on. Regardless of this, wars or the like rarely break out due to the xx's loathing of wasting resources on much other than research, and the fact that xx have been forbidden as long as they can remember from killing one another. Murder is almost an alien concept - if someone stands in your way, you attempt to disprove them rather than slay them.

The xx eventually developed space travel and began to explore their own star system, and the systems beyond. A suprising thing they found is that they were heirs to an ancient, unknown legacy within their own solar system - the same culture that had been on the xx's homeworld before it's burning had also created colonies on several planets, and various facilities on the less habitable worlds. A disconcerting thing that the xx found was that there were no corpses, skeletons, genetic material or records of the species that had occupied the region - it was as if the race had not gone extinct, but instead utterly vanished. The profiling of the facilities had the closest estimate of the race being land-based, with fine manipulators and stood at around five to six feet tall on average.

A handful of the facilities and colonies had technology that remained operational. The technology was studied, and in many cases replicated for xx use, resulting in a few minor advancements in the xx technological prowess. Some of the facilities even contained information, though the xx were never able to translate it until very recently, with the advent of their universal translator. The first few pages translated were rough translations, though the xx could surmise that they were translating a form of log or journal. It appeared that the paticular facility was a research institute. Then, the xx translated the next page; what they found caused them to promptly evacuate all the facilities in a panic and quarantine and check all personnell who had been in the facilities. Ever since, the xx have been too scared to go near the facilities again. In the early build of the xx translator, the entry read thusly;

phase : current : rotations : 7
event : terror : absolute
laboratory : visited : other
other : hostile : omnipresent : omniscient
hope : survival : zero
other : presence : now : here
other : presence : NOW : HERE
OTHER : PRESENCE : NOW : HERE : TERROR : TERROR

TERROR : TERROR : TERROR : TERROR : TERROR : TERROR : TERROR : TERROR

Ever since that day, the xx have been too frightened to enter the facilities and find out the rest of the story, due to fright that they will cause harm not only to the individuals researching, but the entire xx species as a whole. The xx are generally so frightened by the potential lingering death that they often refuse to even speak of the event. The xx have blockaded off the facilities and refuse outright to let any other races visit them, for what the xx percieve as their own good.

A Pioneer-class Science Frigate.
A Pioneer-class Science Frigate.

After the shock had died down, the xx went back to their usual business of research. Their space-exploration proceeded well, and they eventually invented the Pioneer-class Science Frigates that the xx use even to the present date. The first Pioneer ever created was known as the "Discovery's Will" in the xx's own language, and was one-of-a-kind due to being scaled 50% larger than standard Pioneer vessels. From there, the xx set out - not far away, the xx had their first contact unfortunatley with the Vashkk, who were incredibly hostile from the beginning. The xx escaped, and the Vashkk were unable to trace the xx, leaving them lost in their own mire. From there, the xx decided the universe had the potential to be hostile and harsh, and that they should protect and gather sapient races so that no disasters may befall them. Though this provoked much dissention among the xx, as to whether they had the right to do so.

Dissention to this day remains a restricting factor of xx culture. To other races who have met the xx, their senate is ridiculously inefficient, often arguing relentlessly about almost every topic that occurs. The most recent example is regarding the Grell and The Alliance of Free Will - in paticular, this is a topic many xx feel very strongly about, though the debate is seen as being divided amongst social class. The labourers and industrialists of xx society say that it is the decent and done thing to throw in their lot and help rid the galaxy of a threat to all life, but the xx scientists and thinkers want to study the Overdeity of Fear in order to understand how such a powerful and malign creature could come to be, and to further their research into psychic matters (a field of expertise the xx have had little success with). Some theorists believe that the Overdeity of Fear could be the "hostile: omnipresent: omniscient" something described in the log.

[edit] Recent Advanced Age

The xx have recently went through a large-scale reformation. The culture shock of finally meeting sapients and even sharing the homeworld with them provoked many different reactions from the xx; the labourers were overjoyed with their new friends and allies and welcomed their company. The scientists were endlessly curious, asking many questions and finding out as much as they could within ethical reason. The Senate, however, grew paranoid. They had not had these issues to deal with before and some senators began to grow wary of any possible intentions or discoveries they could make.

When the Rinthuu crisis broke out in deep space, prompting dimensional invaders known as the Rinthuu to flood out of gates, the Senate was thrown into a panic but also siezed on the moment. They attempted to evacuate the system of all non-xx using their covert ops arm, Perihelion 7. Those in-system at the time (the Grell, Tiki and Wexxians) were asked to evacuate the system to avoid any harm befalling them. Unknown to them, the senate was already hunting down any non-P7 who knew anything of the blockaded worlds in system containing precursor relics. The Tiki and Grell promptly left, but the Wexxians persisted in asking for any ways to help that they could.

The Wexxians in-system noted calls for help from a civilian vessel, and moved to help it. Perihelion threatened the Wexxian vessel at the behest of the senate, and destroyed the civilian frigate, enraging the Wexxians. Around that time, an escaped xx skiff escaped from the system and informed the Grell of the senate's blackhearted deeds. The Grell arrived and were promptly attacked by P7, by order of the senate. The civilian xx vessels on the battlefield fled, not wanting to harm their allies. The P7 vessels remained, refusing to disobey the senate. When the battle was turning grim for the P7 vessels, the senate pulled a foul trick and detonated the shield generators around the blockade planet, allowing a dimensional anomaly to form, which the Rinthuu promptly hijacked.

The last P7 vessel sacrificed itself to destroy the relics on the surface, stopping the dimensional anomaly and thus, the Rinthuu reinforcements. Meanwhile, the Senate had since killed all non-concordant members, but were nontheless captured by the civilians and P7 turncoats when the Grell broadcasted throughout the entire system what the senate had done. The xx public refused to break the ancient xx law like the Senate had, and left the remaninig senators's fate in the hands of the Grell, who promptly exiled them aboard a prison ship for the rest of their lives.

Afterwards, the xx have been left with a society with no internal command structure, so they applied to join the Coadunation of Autonomous Beings (CAB), allowing CAB to govern the xx in full until they had time to sort out their society. How long that will be given the sudden shock all xx have had to face, a severe blow to their confidence, remains to be seen. However, the xx have been left free to make some long-overdue decisions, such as pledging their help to the Grell in combatting the Overdeity of Fear. They also await the return of their friends.

[edit] Communication

Communication between xx has evolved in a very strange way. Speech between xx is more gesture-orientated than anything else, due to the limited possible vocabulary of the xx (their biology and aquatic habitat renders them incapable of making many noises other than various sequences of pitched hisses). This has given the xx great difficulty in sharing their ideas, or even communicating with other races, hence their unusual name (which translates roughly to "They who find" in their primary language). Their vocabulary has very few letters, correlating closest to the human letters h, k, s, x, and z. Spoken and written words are only used extensivley for named objects, which gestures cannot convey accuratley.

The five letters of the written xx language.
The five letters of the written xx language.

The xx written language is used entirely for naming objects, or very basic significations such as "DANGER" or "PRIVATE". Due to the xx's expansive and high-capacity minds, they are also gifted with an excellent memory. Written language originated in the late tribal age, mainly on slabs of rock that had been carved with the letters and then put somewhere to signify a place as one thing or another, such as denoting the presence of a Pit Horror in a reed field.

Typical names for xx are tri-sectioned. Two are chosen by combining two of the parents names, usually the one who laid the egg's first name goes first, and the partner's last name goes last. The third, which is the central part, is chosen later on in life when a profession is chosen. A typical xx name might be ksshXzzXskhs - translated, this would mean kssH~Skhs the Scientist. Adult xx with no central name are usually outcasts or criminals.

Unlike many other races, xx do not wear clothing. This is due to their pore-based respitory system; if the xx were to wear any garments, it would severely hamper their breathing and they would become ill and die if the offending article was worn for long enough. The xx often appear even more bizarre to other races due to this fact, along with their strange methods of communication.

[edit] Gesture Communication

The Gesture system seems bizarre and convoluted to any other species, but to the xx it is second nature, taught extensivley from childhood. All limbs are used in communicating, often giving the appearance that two xx are dancing together when really they are just conversing. Different meanings are affixed to different limbs, such as;

Middle Tentacle - The middle tentacle is closest to the tone in which information is relayed. If pointed directly at you, the xx is accusing or confrontational. When arched in a way that it hugs the chin and neck, the xx is submissive or respectful.

Side Tentacles - The side tentacles are used to tell what exactly the information relates to. For instance if an xx is accusing you of something, it will point both side tentacles at you. If it relates to something not present, it will arch them upwards. If the information is unimportant and not really related to anything, it will flatten the tentacles down.

Tail - The tail relates to the supposed validity of information. The tail is arched forward as far as it can go when the xx is certain about what it is saying, and arched backwards when it doubts the validity or accuracy of the information.

To provide an exhaustive list would be difficult, as the xx often have varying meanings that do not translate well. Needless to say, they have poor success rates at communicating with other species, and this has caused some xx to ponder if the gesture system is an old tradition that needs to go. The xx are nevertheless working on a method of communicating with other races without using true language as such; this has resulted in them inventing a Universal Translator which analyses patterns, intonations and all other mannerisms of speech in order to figure out what a given being is saying.

With the advent of the translator, the xx still have not adapted it en masse, preferring to leave it's use to explorers and space navigators.

[edit] Technology

[edit] Buildings

A primitve hut from the xx tribal times. It is crafted from failed egg residue.

The have xx shown their resourcefulness in their technologies and inventions even from early times. Their primitive huts in their tribal days were crafted out of the residue inside eggs that failed to properly form. The substance, named zssh, hardens and is fairly durable after a few hours in the sulfurous waters of their worlds, but is pliable and sticky enough to be molded into various shapes. Once they have it shaped as they desire (usually a hollow oval shape), they decorate the interior and exterior with the egg shells before it hardens. The xx then acquire a few specimens of a plant found in their oceans and use it to prop the home off the seabed. The plants serve the xx and in return are protected from herbivores and parasites. Since xx lay eggs in clutches of around ten and most of them will fail to hatch, often tribes have a decent supply every so often which they can build a hut with.

In more modern times, they use refined ores, metals and stone to build more advanced structures - this has given the eggs somewhat of a negligable use, but the failed eggs are still used to decorate buildings, giving them a characteristic patchy green look. Many other races have accused the xx that this practice is barbaric and horrifying, but the xx see no flaw in it - the eggs did not form a life in the first place and only contain nutritional paste for the life that would have gone in there, had one formed properly.

[edit] Vehicles

The xx have invented many vehicles during their time, though they tend not to create too many, as the resources they use to make stable chassis for their schematics are rare in their own system, and difficult to synthesise. Many xx non-aquatic vehicles incorporate large pressurised spheres, 15 meters diamater at the smallest. These are akin to the pressurised gas many species have aboard their spacecraft - the xx would not be able to survive without it. They often have several Sulfur Synthesisers attached to keep the air breathable for the xx.

[edit] Commercial

Very few vehicles are available for commercial use by individual xx. As it is, they are fairly quick in water as it is, so there is little need to waste resources building transportation devices. The only available commercial vehicles are privately commissioned exo-suits for xx that can afford to pay the high prices. These are often inferior in quality to industrial or science exo-suits and lack the arms, but are still up to the task of safely exploring out-of-water environments.

[edit] Industrial

What the xx can't create robots to do, they build exo-suits to help other xx do the task. These are often heavy-duty, powerful machines to be used in non-aquatic mines and salvage operations. The most common design, and the standardised one for it's efficiency, is that of a pressurised spherical liquid container in which the xx sits and controls the machine, with a metal band encircling the sphere, upon which the arms and four walking legs are attached. The hands are interchangeable with various tools depending on the mission.

[edit] Spacefaring

A small xx city in their advanced age.
A small xx city in their advanced age.

The xx's space division is one of the most researched things the xx have - as a result, technology in this field tends to be the most advanced the xx posess. The mainstay of their expeditions are the Pioneer class Science Frigates, said to be the pinnacle of xx technology. These enormous frigates carry a lot of equipment and supplies, and are huge and advanced enough to support a crew of around 200 xx for around 25 years. These vessels have many purposes - make new discoveries, research encountered phenomenae, scout out new areas of space, make contact with new races be they advanced or primitive, uplift primitive races, and so on. Despite the xx's bias against violent research, the resource cost of these crafts is obviously astounding, so the xx protect their investments by practically coating the outer hull in several self-sustaining laser turrets, and the occasional bitemperate plasma rail cannon. They sometimes also carry a small compliment of robotic, unmanned fighter craft if they believe beforehand that the mission will take them to hostile encounters. The Pioneer is currently in it's 14th revision, having been advanced upon several times to keep it at the peak of advancement.

The xx also have several lesser ships, none as impressive as the Pioneer. Their most advanced cargo transporter, the Gift class Logistics Frigate, are the only xx ships to feature cloaking devices, a device the xx have had a great deal of trouble getting to work. The first attempt the xx made at creating a working cloaking device is a frightening story that has gone down in xx legend and leaves lasting effects even to this date. When the cloaking device was engaged on the Eluder's Tryst, the ship faded out entirely - and would not respond to either radar or radio communications. When a team went to investigate, they found out the ship had literally completley vanished, not just from sight but from existance altogether. The ship was later found wrecked on a small moon nearby, but everything from within the ship was gone - crew, machinery, liquid, everything; leaving only an empty metal shell. To this date, the xx cannot figure what happened.

The xx have no purely offensive vessels to speak of, aside from small robotic fighter drones that are occasionally taken on Pioneers when they believe hostile contact is a risk.

[edit] Weapons

The xx dislike having to spend resources on developing weapons, but they are not silly enough to venture into the universe without the capability of defending themselves. The majority of their weapons are, strangely enough, rather basic in premise, firing a stream of superheated plasma to melt or cook offenders with. The catch, however, is that the xx have applied their considerable knowledge to these weapons and developed a new form of plasma. Firstly, the plasmae are compacted and miniaturised as much as possible, resulting in an extremely concentrated burst which can scorch down to the molecular level. Secondly, they include streams of super-cold antiplasma along with the regular super-hot plasma; most materials cannot take the high contrast of temperatures between spots and are warped out of shape as freely as waving your hand through water. The downside is that these weapons are prone to the same kind of damage themselves, and the firing mechanism must be replaced every few shots.

Curiously enough, the xx never developed more primitive weapons for use on predators and the like - their well-armed bodies were already well up to the task of offense and defense, rendering the need for weaponary moot. Science into offensive technology is usually seen as a taboo in xx society, and researchers into these things risk being shunned or exiled.

[edit] Communications

In more recent times, the xx have invented a form of Universal Translator, a device capable of processing patterns of speech in order to translate them, no matter the actual language used. The xx consider this a major breakthrough, given their previous language barriers; the results are far from perfect as of yet, however. To other races, xx communication seems parsed and almost robotic in nature due to the way the translator interprets the xx language. The first recorded use of the translator between the xx and one of their children races (see below), the Zrchi, is now a famous excerpt to the xx:

[xx Linguist] translator : question : output : acceptable
[Zrchi Linguist] Yes, we can understand you.
[xx Linguist] translator : assertion : Zrchi : speech : understood
[Zrchi Linguist] It is good to finally speak directly with our mentors.
[xx Linguist] xx : phase : current : joy

[edit] Relations with Other Races

The xx attempt to play savior around the galaxy, bringing salvation to doomed worlds and helping out developing races. They are master uplifters in a sense, though the whole xx race is divided on whether this is right or wrong. Nevertheless, on their travels they have come across other races.

[edit] 'Children' of the xx

The xx refer to any uplifted and adopted races as their children, and are rather protective and fond of them. They often trade resources and the like with such races, and try to teach them ideals similar to the xx way of life.

[edit] KOR

The KOR are/were a Children Race of the xx, but not in the conventional sense. They are a major scandal among xx society, especially given that many xx question their right to interfere with other sapient races. The KOR however, were not sapient when the xx found them; they were akin to wild creatures on their homeworld. The xx expedition to the KOR homeworld, under command of zhzsXzzXkkkh (known later only as zhzskkkh), in an attempt to apply their latest genetics and bio-engineering technologies and theories, attempted to bio-engineer the KOR up to true sapience. Whatever gene the xx altered, they missed; though the KOR were brought to sapience, they were gifted with completley and utterly demented personas and illogical, bizarre behaviour.

The xx were attacked and chased away by the KOR after some time, the KOR accusing them of attempting to steal their atmosphere. The xx did not have the heart to fight back, and left the system entirely, leaving the KOR to themselves, hoping no-one would find out. Unfortunatley, they eventually did when the KOR embarked on a universal jihad against the colour blue. zhzsXzzXkkkh was stripped of his title and banished for his crime; an action that would later prove costly to the universe at large.

[edit] Hadarii

The Hadarii, a race of avian/hominid hybrids, utterly detest the xx, seeing them as godless and perverse. The Hadarii are convinced the xx are attempting to tinker with other races for their own benefit, and that their unquenchable pursuit of more and more knowledge is seen as a lust for power and influence over others. The Hadarii High Priest of Iikasuus has declared the xx to be fiends that should be hunted down - the xx bore the Hadarii no ill will, but since there is active war between the two species, the xx defend themselves and their adopted children races with vigor.

[edit] Grell

The Grell, a robotic race of much interest to the xx, came to them asking for help, as they needed to defeat the Overdeity of Fear to end it's threat to known space. While the senate was still in power, they did not come to a concordance or decision. After the senate's downfall however, the xx immediatley agreed to help the Grell in any way they can.

[edit] Tiki

The Tiki recently became the first race to appear on the homeworld of the xx. Their resistance to radiation allowed them to arrive and actually walk upon the surface of the planet, which is soaked in deadly radiation. The Tiki seem to have taken something of a liking to the xx, making paintings of them. The xx are likewise fascinated with the little creatures, and treat them with respect and friendliness, somewhat happy to finally have another race walk upon their homeworld.

[edit] ViS

The ViS recently contacted the xx, warning them about the Tiki. It was the first encounter between xx and ViS, and though some xx were worried that they were being caught up between an inter-species feud, it soon appeared that the ViS harbored a distate for the Tiki but little more severe. The ViS were greeted and welcomed to make use of xx hospitality, hoping that the relations between the two would remain friendly. In xx society, the xx laborers have taken something of a liking to the ViS, seeing them as cute. However, the scientists of the xx find their uniformity somewhat jarring and difficult to deal with - the senate has advised them not to make these opinions known at large, for fear of angering the ViS.

[edit] Wexxians

The Wexxians have come to be admired by the xx for their staunch dedication to the protection of all life, even in the face of extreme danger. During the Senate Crisis, it is well known that a Wexxian Ship pursued a crippled (and later destroyed) civilian vessel despite the intense danger it faced. Also, since Wexxians are robotic in nature, they are immune to the radiation of the xx homeworld and have become the second non-xx race to be present upon it's surface.

[edit] Torpal

The xx have recently met the Torpal as a fellow member of CAB. After the xx homeworld was attacked not long after the xx joined CAB by a race of parasites, the Torpal came to defend them very quickly, earning them the respect of the xx.

[edit] Current Events

Recently, the xx Senate was found as corrupt and overthrown. The Grell and Wexxians were instrumental in overthrowing the Senate and bringing freedom back to the xx people. In the aftermath, since the xx were left with no government of their own, they decided to join CAB and allow themselves to be governed by it.

The xx were finally freed to make a decision on the Alliance of Free Will, and pledged themselves to aiding the Grell and Renfold in any way they can. After the Senate Crisis was over, they immediatley entrusted the Grell with a number of their fleets - though the xx do not make fully combat-based ships, they will nevertheless come in handy one way or another to the Grell and Renfold.

Meanwhile, unbeknown to the galaxy at large, the exile zhzskkkh waits and watches, formulating a plan to get revenge on his xx exilers. He recently tricked the KOR into attacking the Grell/Renfold blockade, and used the distraction to steal samples from the Overdeity of Fear. He now lurks somewhere out in space, plotting the next stage of his vile plans...
