Yaccoms live on Altarion, the second planet from the sun in the Topican system. Altarion is a warm tropical planet. Its surface is 50% ocean, lakes, and rivers, 30% tropical rainforest, and 20% tropical plains/grassland. The usual temperature ranges from 50 degrees F in the winter to 80 degrees F in the summer, and stays humid, at 50% relative humidity. The Yaccoms thrive on eating the small amphibious and terrestrial animals which are plentiful throughout the planet. Yaccoms have a friendly and curious disposition and dispise violence against other Yaccoms unless they must to survive. A Yaccom will never attack unprovoked, but will go to extreme lengths to protect their young, sometimes becoming vicious. Young Yaccoms develop friendships early in life, and will travel in large social groups. The whole herd helps out in caring for the young.
