- Ri'nanov

The Bisistar are a highly advanced and enigmatic species of pseudosaurians native to the artificial Oikoumene world of Daehhrex, deep in the Cyranai Galaxy. Though alien from the species in Cyrannus, the Oikoumene considered the Bisistar to be the Twelfth Tribe of the Capricyránae. A highly secretive and intelligent species, the Bisistar are the dominant species in Cyranai, and have long utilised their biological ability to shapeshift to influence the direction of other species, both in Cyranai and its parent galaxy, Cyrannus.

Masters of the powerful Bisistar Domain, the Bisistar have long been ruled by the Ri'nanov—a female Bisistar who holds absolute power over her intergalactic empire. Although largely isolationist, the Bisistar have involved themselves in the history of the Cyrandia Cluster on numerous occasions, be it their ancient invasion of the First Republic, their millennia-long conflict with the Neraida Gigamatrix and their Xeranbha-influenced attacks on the New Cyrannian Republic.

History[]

The history of the Bisistar is shrouded in mystery, although their evolution was influenced by the all-powerful Oikoumene millions of years prior to the modern age. Evolving on the artificial Oikoumene installation known as Daehhrex, the Bisistar utilised the Oikoumene technology discovered on their world to forge the Bisistar Domain, which swiftly emerged as the dominant galactic power of Cyranai. Under the absolute rule of the Ri'nanov, the Bisistar used their natural ability to shapeshift to infliltrate the native powers of Cyranai, bending them to the will of the Domain. Those who discovered their deception were quickly destroyed.

Their first contact with a Cyrannian civilisation came in 21,998 BNE, when a First Republic starship happened upon a natural wormhole leading to Bisistar space in Cyranai. Horrified by the contamination of their "clean" space by extragalactic interlopers, the Ri'nanov responded with rage, deploying legions of Bisistaran warships through the wormhole to Cyrannus. Upon arrival, the Bisistar viciously attacked the Republic capital of Orbispira, reducing much of the ecumenopolis to slag. Their conflict with the Republic would last for several bitter years, although they were ultimately defeated by an unexpected, and entirely situational, alliance between the Republic and their hated Nagith foes.

Swearing vengeance against Cyrannus, the Ri'nanov locked down the Realm and consolidated her power over the course of millennia. During this period of isolation, the Bisistar encountered remnants of the Nagith-created Neraida in Cyranai, and although the two became bitter enemies, neither was capable of destroying the other. Under the directive of their queen, a legion of Bisistar warriors and scientists travelled to the distant Plazith Rim galaxy, where they took up residence in the Orion Arm. While there, they began to influence the development of Humanity, utilising Oikoumene-inspired gene modification to create a servitor race known as the Chitauri to act as their vanguards.

During the Great Cyrannus War, the Bisistar encountered the species of Cyrannus for the first time since the era of the First Republic, when the United Republic of Cyrannus captain Helo Roslia arrived in Cyranai through the same wormhole used millennia ago by the ancient Republic. With their full might, the forces of the Bisistar descended on Cyrannus once more, concentrating their efforts on the Cyrannian Neraida deep in the galaxy's unknown regions.

Desolation of the Bisistar 13

The Bisistar fought against much of the conflict during the Great Battle of Venetia in 05 NE.

Although they had intended on invading the United Republic of Cyrannus during the conflict, the formation of the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus halted such intentions. The Ri'nanov sensed the great power within the Emperor, who had managed to influence one of her own to betray the Domain and serve the new Empire. Fearing Tyrómairon, the Ri'nanov withdrew all of her forces from Cyrannus. The Bisistar subsequently subjugated the New Ermitant Republic, which had arrived in Cyranai fleeing Imperial persecution, and continued their war with the Neraida, influencing the zealots of the powerful Cognatus Empire to serve their aims.

Although master manipulators themselves, the Bisistar unknowingly came under the influence of the mysterious Xeranbha during the New Cyrandia Wars. For reasons unknown, the Xeranbha mimicked the species of Cyrannus and attacked Bisistar space, prompting the Ri'nanov to launch an unprecendented invasion of the New Cyrannian Republic. During the subsequent Great Battle of Venetia, the Republic rallied their extragalactic allies in defence of the new Ermitant homeworld, resulting in one of the largest battles in the history of Cyrannus. Although they inflicted heavy casualities on the Mou'Cyran Accords, the Bisistar were ultimately defeated in the conflict.

The Bisistar subsequently involved themselves in the Neraida War, seeking to take advantage of the chaos to destroy their bitter enemies once and for all. During the pivotal Fall of Aevarin Prime, the Bisistar annihilated the peaceful Aevarin people and the Neraida both, forcing the Gigamatrix to redeploy their forces in a two-front war they could ill afford. With the fall of the Neraida at the end of the conflict, the resurgent Bisistar launched a massive campaign on the Neraida's territory in Cyranai, managing to overcome the cyborgs in a matter of weeks and securing their supremacy over their home galaxy.

SGCW Fall of Terrae 02

The Bisistar infiltration of humanity was revealed during the Fall of Terrae.

Although the Bisistar were uninvolved in the cataclysmic Second Great Cyrannus War, their ancient deception in the Milky Way was discovered by the Empire of Cyrannus during their invasion of the Allied Terran Republic. Revealing that the Terran President Elethien was in actuality a Bisistar infiltrator, the Empire usurped control over the Terran Republic and used the fear of Bisistar infiltration to ensure their dominance over humanity. With the fall of the Imperial regime toward the end of the conflict, it remained to be seen whether the Bisistar would once more attempt to shape Gigaquadrantic events.

Characteristics[]

Biology[]

Doubtlessly, the Bisistar are the most alien of the Capricyránae, having a bizarre appearance that makes them instantly recognisable when contrasted against the other races such as the Basileus and the Libertus. A unique biological characteristic is their feared ability to shapeshift. Even the weakest Bisistar is able to shapeshift into another creature, which allows them to easily manipulate "lesser" species that may one day pose a threat. Unlike most Capricyránae species, the Bisistar show no visible sexual dimorphism, with females showing no external variations to males.

Culture[]

The Bisistar are the sole cultural force in the Bisistar Domain and ruthlessly crush all evidence of outside influence. This xenophobia is a major factor in how the Bisistar conduct external relations, with the alliances they "do" form rarely being strong. Despite this, to an outside observer of a species which had initially made contact with the Domain, they will appear helpful and kind, using a growing sense of trust to manipulate their neighbours.

Individuals[]

Catulus

You're an interesting pastime, Ermitant Republic. Let's see how much of a benefict you can be.

Khathulusin, most known by the moniker of Catulus is a Filtroo of the Bisistar Domain who is a veteran of thousands of successful missions. His great skill is legendary across the Cyranai Galaxy, with him being credited as having subjugated entire civilizations single-handely with nothing but strategic thinking and elaborated planning. A cruel and malevolent Bisistar, Catulus is an infiltrator who hunts more vulnerable civilizations for sport, and takes great amusement in their futile struggle to oppose the Domain.

Bisistar Queen

We are superior.

Ruling the Bisistar Domain with iron claws, the Ri'nanov has ruled the Domain for thousands of years, with many of her children serving in high ranking positions across her realm, which spans the Cyranai Galaxy. Well versed in her people's ancient legends about the Neraida, she harboured a deep resentment to them, and was willing to lay down her life for their destruction.

With her real name lost to the ages, she is simply known as the Ri'nanov to her people. She is beloved by the Bisistar and is an expert in manipulation, bringing thousands of races under the command of the Domain, whether they know it or not.

Moranonúngur

The very shadows work against you. The Empire has eyes everywhere.

Moranonúngur was a male Bisistar that served as the leader of both Imperial Intelligence and the Imperial Inquisition as well as a high ranking member of the Phaedric Order, the closest acolytes of the Dark Lord Tyrómairon. Formerly a commander in the Bisistar Domain, Moranonúngur infiltrated thousands of civilisations across the universe, including the United Republic of Cyrannus, Rambo Nation and Humanity, all the while gaining much in the way of power, which increased expodentially when he was recruited by the Dark Lord into his ranks during the Great Cyrannus War.

After years of service to the Emperor, Moranonúngur was killed by Aoirtae Valaeris during the Great Battle of Orbispira in 20 NE.

Quotes[]

They list us as enemies, while we have only heard rumors about them. What did we ever do to them to anger them?

- Senator Chuinaylia of Rambo Nation

I have seen firsthand the true face of the Bisistar. They are monsters unlike anything we have ever seen. There can be no co-existence with them.

- Senator Milinitt of the Ermitant

Their unusual shapeshifting abilities would make them capable test subjects if we managed to capture some. Perhaps a few dozen.

- Tarygan Tersly of the Indoctrinate Collective
