The Gorbaji is a dangerous race to go hunting. Aggressive, strong, and for a race of brutish beast surprisingly cunning.

- Hunter remarks about the Gorbji

The Grobaji, sometimes known simply as Ogres, are a race of brutish creatures believed to be closely related to the orcs. The Grobaji is an ancient race, existing for thousands of years in the in the Tropical Lands. Tales of Grobaji dismembering and eating the unfortunate ones who stumble into their territory is common and for very good reason.

History[]

Since the Grobaji has never founded a nation, most preferring the live solitary lives or in small tribes, there is little actually 'history' of the race. However, sometime during their history they developed a simple form of cuneiform-type writing and metalworking which is usually passed of from the parent to child.

Grobaji also has a long history of being hunted for sport and for their skin and bones, both of which are very strong and resistant against all forms of magic. Some suggest that this long history of being prey has added to their territorial tendencies.

Characteristics[]

Biology[]

Grobaji is large creatures, easily reaching 8 feet tall and 700 pounds in weight. These beings are adapted to living in the thick rain forest and can easily move around in even the most dense of brush, moving surprisingly quickly and quietly giving their size. These ogres are famously strong as well, being able to easily rip apart even an armored foe. They're also surprisingly quick, being able to run down many who try to flee from them.

The Grobaji is a long living race, often reaching the age of 800, and sometimes, 1000 years old. Grobaji reaches sexual maturity at 20 years old however they reproduce very slowly as female Grobaji only become fertile once a decade and only give birth to one child at a time. Grobaji children have about a 15% chance of being stillborn.

Besides their strength one of the most notable features of the Grobaji is their skin and bones strong resistance to all forms of magic and their ability to quickly recover from injuries. This has made the Grobaji a target for hunters who would kill the ogres and harvest them to make armor. In fact, Grobaji skin and bone robes and armor are highly sought after in some parts of the world.

Another amazing layer in the Grobji biology is the fact that their skin produced a pungent onion odor whenever they are threatened. The smell is so strong that it can make some vomit uncontrollably.

Both male and female Grobaji possess large horns on their heads with the male's horns being notable larger. Male Grobaji also uses their horns to attract mates.

Society[]

Little is known of Grobji society due to the fact that they're so territorial and very few have been able to observe them without provoking their wrath. However, what is known is that Grobji either live a solitary life or in small clans, usually consisting of about seven or eight individuals.

Behavior[]

The Grobaji is renowned for being extremely vicious and territorial beings, attacking those whom they see in sight. They often eat those they kill and use their skeletons to mark the borders of their territory to help ward off trespassers.

Some Grobaji have been known to activity hunt other sentient lifeforms, stalking at the edges of trails and attacking those who pass by them.
