Empire (territory)

Empire in Spore refers to the territory of a species in the Space stage. While according to the definition of the word, an empire must be led by an emperor, empires is used in Spore as a very general term and has nothing to do with systems of government. The only empire that MUST really be an empire is Bards, which have an empress (as they say on delivery mission), and the only empire without an emperor is diplomat empires, which have a Grand Council. It can probably be assumed that Zealot empires are led by a theocrat and that Warriors have a Military Junta.

Empires have colors (lots of empires have the same color), making it easier for the player to check empires that are easy to conquer, like ones with three systems or so.

In the Space stage, a player's own empire and that of other species is always titled "<species name> Empire".

The empire's color appears to be related to the coat color of your creature.
