Yes, come, challenge me, beast! I will cleave your body in twain, with but one strike! My grandchildren's grandchildren will sing of my victory for ages to come!

- Carchal Nal

Carchal Nal is a male Kulaung Warrior in command of the vessel Blade of the Void, a Korideble-class battleship. Starting his life as a terrorist and a threat to stability, Carchal's life was rather unstable, due to the lack of a father figure in his clan. Feeling the shame of having no father to recall his deeds and brag to other children about, Carchal developed a desperate need to belong, leading to him falling in with anti-alien terrorists, who felt the Kulaung needed no foreigners corrupting their culture. He adopted this view, merely because the cell leaders made him feel at home, a sense of belonging he had always missed, convinced it as well was their fault he had no parent and his Clan was so depleted in battle.

It was upon visiting the homeworld, however, when he was sent to bomb the Holy Palace of Eire, did Carchal see what he was fighting against. He saw Kaguran and Kadalian alike in the market places, joking, drinking, dueling and arguing with Kulaung and human alike. Seeing such beings brought together snapped him out of his twisted way of thinking, causing him to turn himself in and his conspirators. Giving him the chance to redeem himself, the Mendel authorities offered him the chance to join their military forces, which he accepted.

His years of study would bring him to command the Blade of the Void, and, his first major assignment would be involvement in the Neraida War, eager to bring fire power and blood-thirst to the war and end the cybernetic menace. He would later serve honorably in the Second Cyrannus War.

History[]

Early Life[]

Carchal was born on the sacred world of Daimyo, a place where it is said that the High King, Brennus Merdoc the Reformer, was blessed with a vision from Kadaii Hoorangiir himself, telling him that all aliens should be allowed to stand with the Kulaung people, so long as they prove themselves worthy and their culture can be brought into the Pact. Many Ugandalorians embraced this idea, welcoming such races as the Kaguran, Kadalians and many others. However, not all would accept this change, those being a cult called the Sons of the Axe, who felt the King a liar, and the aliens corrupting their culture.

Carchal, himself born years later, was a young Kulaung, who had lived much of his life without his father, leaving him envious and angry towards his peers, as he had no deeds to recount of his own, not knowing his name, or any of the glory he had achieved. Carchal drifted, when he came of age, from port to port in Daiymo, until he joined the Sons of the Axe, and was convinced by their leader to join him. Longing for a sense of family and belonging, Carchal joined them, swearing to help them drive out the aliens from Mendel borders. Carchal's need to belong brought him much favor, believing the cult's ideals in the right.

Trusting him now, The Sons of the Axe sent Carchal to bomb the High King's palace on Eire, to send a message to the Kulaung and their leader himself. Upon arriving, however, Carchal saw the market places of Eire, and it's star ports, filled with various races, arguing, laughing and enjoying life together, united despite their differences. Seeing all this, and finally questioning himself as to why he was fighting this, turned himself in to authorities, revealing everything he knew to them.

This would lead to the arrests of much of the Sons of the Axe and their group, and Carchal was given the chance to either serve out a reduced sentence, or serve in the armed forces to repay society. Deciding the latter, Carchal would rise to the position of Commander, gaining the trust of many of his comrades along the way, and the ever-lasting friendship of other captains and commanders. Though he had no father, he had found a true group of friends worthy of his time.

Neraida War[]

When the Mendel people where informed of the Neraida War, the Council, under Docarrick Beroya, thought quickly of their options and decided to assign Carchal Nal command of the Mendel Warpath Fleets that would operate in Cyrannus, alongside their New Republic/Persan/Waptoria Allies, among other aliens. Carchal selected his troops carefully, choosing to operate under him, would be the famed Orgaat Shifter, O'Cari, a famed Shifter who had breed her warriors to resist high levels of radiation through the consuming of unknown creatures. Joining them was the Togunda Warchief Belgar Stone-brow. This fearsome force, massive by Mendel standards, and quite capable of doing ungodly amounts of damage to their foes. But Carchal knew this power had to be directed intelligently, for his Neraida foes, as soulless as they where, were fierce foes all the same.

Carchal's first battle would be in the Viridescent Nebula, leading the Mendel fleets, and using their lumbering fire power and strength to blunt much of the Neraida assault, and meet them head on. Although his Mendel ships could not match the Neraida's advanced technology, the Togunda certainly could, and, with the help of the lumbering Orgaat War-Spheres, helped the allies greatly in their battle.

Carchal would lead his warriors in many great running battles with the Neraida, using superior speed and maneuverability to try and flank and leave them behind. Still, he knew the Neraida would sooner or later, most likely sooner, move against his forces and evolve to counter them. As such, he hoped his allies could find a way to defeat them soon enough, placing his faith in his New Republic allies.

Indeed, the New Republic would return to their comrades, a "cure" for the Neraida in hand, and prepared their last fight, one that would see them face the core matrix itself, and bring an final end to the insidious Gigamatrix. Carchal eagerly organized his troops, prepared to finally help end this war.

The Mendel arrived in the core, and although bothered by the presence of the Bisistar, brought their all, everything from their Vengeance-class Frigates, to their Togunda Citadel vessels clashing with the Bisistar in a historic battle. Ultimately, Carchal, with 8 of his best Super-Commandos, would board the cube of the Neraida to offer a distraction to the main team, despite Carchal wishing to be in front of the action. He was joined by several Orgaat packs, as well as the famous Cogsangui Voro Acetenus, and his own warriors, as well as Persan warrior Forterra and the Precore Dragon, Bloodfire. Their battle was hard, many Orgaat valiantly dying to give the Super-Commandos and others a chance to survive the battle, one Cogsangui giving his life to save Carchal's own. Despite, their gambit worked, and the allies celebrated, the virus the New Republic had developed claiming every drone, from the high Triumvirate that ruled them, to the lowest drone. For their sacrifice, Carchal swore he would name his children after those that fell for this victory, before returning to Frenal.

There, he and his warriors returned, celebrated by the Mendel people, Carchal leading his troops in a great celebration. Although it had been hard, Docarrick Beroya, leader of the Mendel Cyrannian Colonies, came to celebrate and congratulate his comrade, informing him that he had preserved the future for not just the Mendel, but for all Cyrannus. The Draiothe, solemnly, gathered the names of the fallen Mendel, Persan, New Republic, Cognatus, and others, promising to erect a great stone to celebrate their sacrifice.

Carchal, after finish the celebration, returned to passive duty and guarding trade routs.

Second Cyrannus War[]

With the beginning of the Massive conflicts of the Cyrannus Galaxy, Carchal found his ship and himself thrust onto the front lines once more, this time under the Command of the famed warrior, Ryaler, who Carchal held great reverence for. Carchal and his ship would stationed in the front line, and be the first to engage Imperial Naval forces once they arrived in Frenal, after they had smashed through Persan and Waptorian resistance. The gathered fleets fought above and upon Frenal for many hours, massive loses encored on both sides, though, ultimately, the Imperial leader, Titus Dromaeo escaped with many of his forces, and, despite their loses, remained a massive threat to the Mendel and their allies.

Knowing the dangers of the Imperial Fleet if left alone, Ryaler and his allies gathered their forces to follow the Fleet and take it down, Carchal among the warriors joining him. After being made aware of the Allied push towards the planet of Laurentia, Ryaler could not afford to divide up his forces, but instead sent Finn Shesara and his Mendel Protectors to help secure the world, joined by a fierce but loyal Clan of Orgaat, out for their own glory in battle, separate from the rest of the tribe. Carchal wished to partake, but knew his place, and obeyed Ryaler's command to remain with the Main Mendel fleet, as Shesara and his loyal Clans pushed into Laurentia with the help of Persan and Waptorian fleets.

Second Siege of Saxhleel

Carchal would lead Mendel forces into Saxhleel alongside many allies.

Carchal, however, would get his chance to lead an attack of his own. Word had spread of a rebellion against Apollo's government, dubbed the True Republic. The Mendel Clans had already sent warriors to fight in Mirus, and Kiun, a student of Curiantau'va alongside Ryaler, sent word to his comrade of what needed to be done, including tactics to defeat the rebels. Ryaler, secure that Titus was not as massive a threat as before, was comfortable enough to send a fleet under Carchal's command to The Second Battle of the Saxhleel Station. While Carchal felt the President should've taken up a blade and challenged the traitor Adelheidis to a duel and mounted her head upon his wall, Ryaler informed him things where slightly different with the Republic. None the less, as a species known as the Rihanaen and the Jenassian Regency arrived with their three warbirds and Jenassian Crusiers, Carchal, an a flotilla of Mendel ships, aided by Persan ones, arrived, eager to do battle alongside the likes of the Republic and the Cognatus once more. Using his ships' powerful hull and shielding armor, Carchal got right into the middle of the fight, his fleet's arrival merely speeding up what was already to come; the destruction of the True Republic's fleet, and the flight of the Jenassians and Rihanaen. After the Station Commander surrendered, celebration broke out amongst the Mendel and their allies, and Carchal contacted Ryaler, informing him of the great victory.

While eager, Carchal waited for the order to come, knowing that to enter another galaxy was to invite serious diplomatic issues with the nations there, Carchal only followed the rest of the fleet when the order came from Apollo. The Quadrants awaited, and within them, glory.

Carchal would be part of many clean-up operations and fighting alongside his High Queen, Kirta, before the final Imperial Diadochi were defeated and subdued, or surrendered and accepted peace.

Traits[]

Personality[]

Carchal is considered highly aggressive, loud-mouthed, and fun loving. Whenever he enters battle, he always does so with a great shout, telling of the deeds he plans to commit, and his plan to destroy the enemy and garner glory for his Clan. Carchal, outside of this, is a capable military mind, though does not wish to attain any higher position, as doing so would put him in a more command position, rather then one on the front lines with the rest of his men. Despite his love of battle and believing an honorable death comes from service, he still is known to pray for the souls of comrades lost in past battles, and hopes they have found peace.

Outside of his boisterous personality, Carchal hides some serious doubts, most centered around the fact he was a former terrorist, and often thinks long and hard about his life and where his path would've taken him had he not realized the gift aliens have brought to the Pact, as well as struggling to balance the respect for his culture, and those of other aliens, without losing sight of his own values. Due to this, he always eager to explore, to find new cultures, and truly find the balance the Draiothe of his Clan speak of.

Like most Kulaung, he is suspicious of Essence and it's users, even his allies like Ryen, though like many, came to honor and respect he and his Order.

Appearance[]

Carchal is an imposing Kulaung, tall and powerful of build. His body, due to his frequent sword dueling and practice fighting with others of his kind, is covered in scars and cuts, crisscrossing much of his chest and arms. His face is considered of a rougher quality then most of his kind, and is often described as rather plain, though his eyes are often described as striking and his most eye-catching trait. His middle finger on his right arm is totally robotic, as it was cut off in a sword-dueling accident long ago. His face has the sacred mark of Kadaii Hoorangiir tattooed upon it, as a sign of his devotion to seek out evolution, but to maintain respect for tradition as well.

Abilities[]

Carchal is regarded as a master swordsmen and marksmen by his kind, as well as a capable fleet commander. Though not the strongest or swiftest of his kind, Carchal never-the-less, never gives in to doubt or fear, and keeps fighting even when tired. It is this perseverance that helps him push himself onward, and makes him a worthy foe to face.

Equipment[]

Carchal is equipped with his clan claymore, and an assortment of long ranged weapons, including a Walgolorian Pulse Carbine, and twin Blaster Pistols, as well as various explosive weapons, such as grenades and wrist rockets. The armor he wears is white in color, with blue highlights, and is noted for a series of scars across the gauntlets, chest, and shoulders, ritually added there. On his helmet's face, is what appears to be a bloody hand print.
