Humanity is a collective term describing Homo sapiens and their variety of posthuman relatives that share Earth of the Milky Way Galaxy as a native home. Due to a plethora of reasons, ancient members of their race were transplanted across the First Gigaquadrant, causing many humanoid civilisations to grow across the cosmos. When humans from Earth developed space-faring technology in the late 21st and early 22nd centuries, they discovered other civilisations made up of both aliens and near-humans, their exploits with a precursor manipulated past and the various related powers allowed them to become one of the most notable species in the Milky Way.

Despite being misunderstood, humanity proves to be quite intelligent and adaptable, driven by imagination and curiosity that is perhaps among the most diverse of all sentients. Politically, Plazithian humanity is currently divided between the unitary Allied Terran Republic and the nation-states of the Orion League, though extragalactic human species such as the Quadrantia Humanoids are members of other civilisations such as Rambo Nation.

Origins[]

MonolithonEarth

The Kei'Un Tribe accidentally activate a Xhodocto monolith.

Humans originated on Earth between 400 thousand and 120 thousand years ago. It is unknown whether they were created by a precursor or evolved, although the latter has much greater scientific evidence abound. Homo sapiens at this time shared Earth with other Archaeohumans: the Hobbits of Indonesia, likely the descendants of a sister species of Homo habilis, the more broadly built Neanderthals, and the fast paced Homo erectus and some few remaining cousins. Unlike their cousins, Homo sapiens expanded around the globe, and in the last 20,000 years, became the demise of every of other hominid, nearly. During this time there was an Ice Age, and humans survived because of their creative abilities and early trade. Shortly after Homo sapiens were standing on their own as the last sapient species. But as the ice treated and returned, early civilizations long forgotten arose within the short-term fertile river plains and valleys, only to be pushed back again, some are said to have even attained advanced technologies and architecture but this remains speculative, not much is known before a couple of thousand years BCE.

Hundreds of thousands of years ago, a great civilisation rose from the island continent of Mu in the middle of the Indian Ocean. With great technology left behind by the "Old Ones", this civilisation which called itself Pamântia. Reaching into space, the Pamântians created a vast interstellar civilisation the envy of the entire galaxy. However, as they grew increasing levels of cultural and technological sophistication, the Pamântians soon encountered a threat that sought to banish their race back to Earth. A massive war ensued, resulting in the sound defeat of the Pamântians, whose entire culture was destroyed one planet at a time until the reptilian lords finally bombarded their home continent from orbit, sinking it into the very depths of the sea. However, a single ship of refugees managed to escape the carnage and using the last remnant of Old One technology on Pamânt, transported themselves to another galaxy. Here, they developed a new civilisation under the name "Homincyradae".
It is unknown whether the Pamântian civilisation was in fact the Ashtar, both were likely to have been the Denisova hominae, the Ashtar themselves became legendary precursors, building networks of wormholes. It itself was split by factions (possibly influenced by even older precursors) which believed in power and fear as a means to control the galaxy.

Destruction of Mu

A single human ship escapes the destruction of Mu.

Another long lasting culture were the Kei'Un, rising about 20,000 years before the 27th century. They reached a stage of advancement comparable to Early Egypt at around 2,700 BCE. Unfortunately, an ancient Xhodocto monolith found itself on Earth, where it was activated accidentally. The Xhodocto had awoken. They spared humanity, however, taking many to Inferno Realm where they would become demons. Some resisted, but the Xhodocto soon left altogether. The Kei'Un would rise again, until they disappeared without a trace 16,000 years ago.

Rise and Fall of Civilization[]

As civilization continued to rise and fall, alien races discovered humans. Primitive, they were taken as either slaves or protected on other worlds by empires like the Draconis or Ashtar-guided archaeohumans. On those other worlds, humans would evolve into the various near-human races, some the same species, others subspecies later on. For reasons unknown the Krassio declared Earth as the center of the universe, and prohibited further alien intervention.

Finally, the ice retracted to the poles once more, and humanity began to spread across the globe unhampered by the ice. First came Lemuria, Shambhala, Hyperborea, Rama, Dwarka, Uiger, Tiahuanaco, Yonaguni, Hy Brasil, Avalon and Camelot, these nations were actually quite advanced themselves. However, the flood waters continued to rise from the melting ice; Atlantis was consumed by the 'ocean gods', a nuclear holocaust was sparked and Rama was consumed by fire; and Uiger retreated under the Gobi desert.

Within several thousand years however, civilization returned in the Middle East, Indus Valley, Egypt and China, shortly followed by other classical civilisations. So to at this time did humans seem to equire belief in the One God, of whose culture greatly influenced a now extinct race of a different galaxy.

Expansion and Conflict[]

Battle of Persephonie 2

The Battle of Persephonie, a bloody battle of the Human Colonial Wars.

After another dark age science and innovation returned, and humans mastered forces of nature, water, natural gas, oil and coal, electricity and atomic power. But humans were still divided and fought many wars. After the second great war, nations competed for technology, and this paved the way to space. Information technology was also becoming a dominant source of communication.

But these times were still harsh, nations were divided, there was limited resources and despite environmental protection, the natural world was coming under threat. One such example where the bees, who were mysteriously dying out, later to be discovered that the bees could perceive another universe without humans so were committing quantum suicide to reach it. The bees were on the brink of extinction and humans were forced to consume more non-pollinated products like seaweed and genetically modify wasps to pollinate, until humans discovered why they were slipping out of reality. But it was not the only problem, several obstacles confronted humans in that era, causing them to change, and become more ecofriendly. It was obvious that one world was not enough so humans began to expand to the stars.

Meanwhile at the turn of the 21st century, conflicts such as the European Civil War and World War III continued to spread across the globe further pushing nations into space, where many established sprawling interstellar empires. However, in the aftermath of the devastating Inter-Colonial Wars, the United Nations was reformed into the Orion League in 2270, which many nations joined in the hope of achieving a lasting peace.

TerranCongregationConflict

The Terran Republic was instrumental in preventing the fall of the Milky Way during the War of Ages, at the cost of billions of lives.

Other factions however, such as the European Star Republic as well as a growing group of human unificationists seeking to unify their divided species sought membership and friendship from alien civilisations.

The Gigaquadrant Awaits[]

Perhaps the most expansionist section of humanity, the so-called Unificationists traveled deep into the Milky Way, moved on by the sudden need to evacuate the Earth and the Sol system, meeting new civilisations both near-human and alien alike. However, it was not entirely peaceful, despite making new alliances there were at least a dozen wars fought over the centuries. These Humans were also responsible for creating the Jovar in a project that ultimately saw humanity's children becoming one of the Milky Way's greatest civilisations.

However, during the devastating War of Ages against the Xhodocto, as well as the Cognatus invasions, Girdo Campaigns and New Grox Wars, innumerable human groups such as the European Star Republic and the near-human Kindred Coalition coalesced to form the Allied Terran Republic, a civilisation that would spearhead human interests in both the War of Ages, the Girdo Campaigns and the Plazithian Seismomachy. However, the Orion League remained a crucial representative of the human species in their own right, being instrumental in the Attero Dominatus campaign as well as expanding into far-off galaxies. Relations between the Terran Republic and the League remain cold and neutral, though there is significant cross-over of membership between the two.

General Information[]

Factions[]

Primary Factions

Plazithian Humanity is generally seen as being divided between the unitary state known as the Allied Terran Republic and the independent nation states constituting the Orion League.

Allied Terran Republic Orion League
HumanRepublicSymbol
Orion League
The Allied Terran Republic is an expansive federal republic primarily located in the Milky Way Galaxy. Though seen by many as a primarily Human organisation, representing one of the two bulks of the species, the Terran Republic is also home to hundreds of different alien species, as well as near-humans from throughout the Gigaquadrant. The Republic is a Plazithian superpower, known for founding the galaxy-wide Civilisation along with the Delpha Coalition of Planets and various Precursor factions. The Orion League is an intergovernmental organization established in 2270 at the end of the Human Colonial Wars to ensure peace and international cooperation between the Human nations of Earth. Since then, it has grown into a massive political entity encompassing many interstellar human, near-human, and alien nations of Orion's Spur and beyond. It also fields a highly professional, technologically advanced, but small peacekeeping force sometimes supplemented by the militaries of its member nations.
DutchFlagSpace
The Kingdom of the Netherlands, known in the Dutch language as the Koninkrijk der Nederlanden or amongst others as The Netherlands, the Dutch, Holland or Nederland. The Kingdom has its origins on Earth, where it originated from the Dutch Republic in 1518 when it was founded by William of Orange. Over the course of history, the Netherlands became a powerful force within Europe, dominating the seas with their navies and faced adversaries as England, France, Spain and Portugal.

By 2089 the Dutch exodus from Earth began crossing the Endless Space until 2100 when they became a dominant faction within the Finduila Sector.

Nation-States

Human nation-states are often members of the Orion League, though many are also associate members of the Terran Republic, benefiting from duel membership.

Races[]

There are many Human offshoots (collectively known as "near-Humans") that have evolved offworld. Most are still Homo sapiens sapiens, though some have evolved into other subspecies or were genetically modified.

Humans/Terrans/Earthers Vorgorman Rambo Humanoids
CyraHumans
VorgormanPNG
Rambo Humanoids
The most well known and populus species are the original Humans or Terrans native to Earth. Even without augmentations, Humans are quite intelligent, and their imagination and curiosity is greater than that of many species. Most are currently divided between the Allied Terran Republic and the Orion League. The Vorgormon split from human nation-states in the 26th century when currency was completely abandoned, believing in the extreme end of capitalist greed, they left for a long voyage to distant regions of the galaxy. The Vorgormon joined the Dominion of the Xhodocto, to contribute their vile greed and economic wealth. The Quadrantia Humanoids a race of humans native to the Quadrants. Formerly part of the Humanoid Empire in Quadrant 21 it fell apart after the Royal Family was involved in a civil-war- tearing the once proud Humanoid Empire apart. Afterwards the Rambo Humanoids travelled to Quadrant 82 and joined Rambo Nation.
Homincyradae Solarites Nebi-Mu
Homincyradae
Solarite
Nebi-Mu Monks
The Homincyradae are descendents of the once vast Pământian Empire, which controlled most of the space around Earth over 150,000 years ago. When they ran afoul of the Alpha Draconians, their civilisation was smashed, though the group later known as the Homincyradae escaped and established a new civilisation on the Cyrannian planet Amphryssos. The Solarites were somehow transported into the Andromeda Galaxy around 5,000 years ago. Despite having little recollection of their original home (referred to as Târa in their myths), they still retain qualities inherent to their species: they are active, inventive, resourceful, and extremely violent. The psychic inhabitants of Sol's closest neighbour, Alpha Centauri, who call themselves the T'aŋgiri-ki̯úne but are known among humans as the Nebi-Mu, were among the first non-Terran sapients ever encountered by Earthlings. Descendants of primitive nomadic humans of prehistoric Asia, they were somehow transported to their new homeworld, which would later become the Divinarium selenopolis of Sanctuarium, transformed by its energies into what they are now. Though once violent and barbaric, eventually their elemental abilities caught the attention of the Church of Spode, who would convert and uplift the Nebi-Mu, steering them towards a more orderly path. Now, these former warriors are a peaceful and tranquil race, who believe in harmony above everything else. Despite being worshippers of Spode, however, few Nebi-Mu swear allegiance to the Divinarium today: most are citizen of the Kindred Coalition.
Chandras Humanoids
Nahuan Chandras1
The Nahuan are the only humanoid race in Chandras, albeit it belongs to the broader plethora of subspecies of Humanity. How did the Nahuan arrive in Chandras is unknown, despite the fact that their loremasters often boast that a portal appearing in the Milky Way Galaxy invited a small population of their ancestors a thousand years ago. The Nahuans have bronze/terracota pigmentation and wear space suits powered with vacuum energy batteries, allowing them to perform feats like space-walking and bioengineered medicine imbued within them. The Nahuans have enlisted in all kinds of jobs, many which fall into the legal side, and others that do not. Nahuans are considered excellent traders and smugglers, prefering to leave more militaristic works to other more interested species.

Travelers passing by Nahuan worlds or stations will find great dealings and a vast array of products, with many Nahuans being willing to trade their goods, which are often basic tool kits and repair kits for ships or equipment. Nahuans are ingenious and extremely cunning, and those who conform to the rules of their Polity follow a spiritual code akin to that of other branches of Iluviism. Nahuans worship the Krassio, acknowledging them as demi-gods co-existing with them for protection and the spread of their vast knowledge, with many Nahuans travel to the Krassio Mandate in search for enlightenment, psionic training, and the study of the famed Krassio memorialist crystals.

Archaeohumans do not descend from Homo sapiens sapiens. It is currently believed that most of them were either pushed to extinction or crossbred with early H. sapiens sapiens.

Ashtar Greys Thals
Ashtar
GreyWormy
Neanderthal
Descended from the Denisovans, the Ashtar created great technology and watched over their less advanced kin, influencing their development in many profound way. Most either ascended to join the "First Ones", or evolved into the mysterious Greys. Now that they are gone, the influence of the Draconians grows... The Greys tweaked their bodies however, and very little of their evolution is actually natural. They have a huge brain capacity with as much as 3100cc, however, many of their bodily functions have been simplified to accommodate this. The Greys can either be benevolent or malevolent, many are cold, logical thinkers that abduct lonely travelers. The Neanderthals, or Thals for short, are another species of Human (although some suggest they are a subspecies of Homo sapiens) that is much older than sapiens. They flourished twice, once up until 28,000 years ago in Ice Age Europe, Earth, and again, on another world, transplanted by an interveining alien observer, possibly one of the the Milky Way's several First Ones.

These tweaked races were genetically Homo sapiens, but heavily modified to live on harsh worlds, either by Archeohumans in the past or themselves more recently.

Hosts Girdo Tweaks Amiaeria Fendrassi
WormyJaffa
FectonianPic
Amiaeria RN
Fendrassi
The Hosts were the enslaved Humans controlled by the Symbionts, and in turn, the Greys and Draco. The Hosts are now a member of the Terran Republic. They are one of the more powerful factions of Humanity and also one of the oldest spacefaring, ordered by their rulers to spread humans throughout the galaxy. The near-Humans of the Girdo Galaxy, a satellite of the Milky Way, are believed to have originated from a migratory wave that left the Milky Way at the end of the most recent glacial period of Earth's Pleistocene ice age. The Amriaeria are a race of humanoids, hailing from the Quadrants whom were working together with the Zarbriaek to build large ships and to protect their own territory. Upon there meeting with Rambo Nation, they decided to aid the Rambo and in return, they were given the title of members of Rambo Nation and were given a seat at the Rambo Senate. Deceitful and sadistic, the Fendrassi are perhaps the most devious species in the entire Dominion of the Xhodocto. Believed to originate from human colonists that were stranded in Andromeda and adapted to the watery conditions of their homeworld, Fendrassil, the Fendrassi are by nature paranoid, untrusting, but at the same time, nonviolent, preferring less brutish tactics to achieve their malevolent goals.

Some Humans were experimented upon, sometimes hybridised with other species from Earth and even alien DNA (more like hybrids than subspecies). Otherwise, some are cybernetically enhanced with either technological implants, nanotechnology or bionanobots; these posthuman races often have superior intelligence and form their own societies.

The Jovar are a carnivorous, four-legged and no armed creature in the Milky Way Galaxy, created by Human unificationists. Native to Jora, the Jovar cultivated vast empires that ranked among the most powerful in the Milky Way, only to fall during the Annihilation. Now, most find home in either the Civilisation or the Terran Republic. The Draconians have been creating hybrids and seeding their DNA into humans since the 20th century, distributing the genes across powerful bloodlines. This created the Chitauri, which plague humanity (particularly the Terran Republic) to this day. The Mantis are a telepathic species, possibly created by the Tall Greys. They are generally quite gentle, and live off plant sap and even light itself. They fly to meditate. Hachiman Shin-Ha, often simplified to Hachi, is a student of the Dream Energy entity known as Thea'Nhirara and is a galactic wanderer, travelling across the Gigaquadrant upon a quest to fulfill his destiny in defeating evil and assisting others whenever they need it. Despite his rabbit-like appearance, he is in fact a highly modified human.

Orion Spur, Sagittarius, Scutum-Crux Humans
  • Various near-humans populate the Orion Spur, Sagittarius and Scutum-Crux regions of the Milky Way galaxy, notables include the Roburans, Tritt, or the humanoids assimilated by the Grox, or several war-based factions of the Orion Spur that refused integration until they were forced to in the Girdo Campaigns. Most were discovered during an age of exploration and scientific discovery between the 22nd and 25th centuries, and joined various federal united nations such as the Orion League and later, the Kindred Coalition. They are culturally and physiologically diverse, but often can produce children with Homo sapiens. Some even appear to retain the cultures of Earth civilisations they were transplanted from. The origins of these cultures vary: some were slaves of the Precursors (the Pseudomorph dominion, Hosts, Archaeohumans and others), some were protectorates. Some fought for their independence and won long before homo sapiens reached the stars on their own, such as Scutum-Crux races resisting the Grox or Grob (otherwise known as Borg by humanity).

Quotes[]

Humans have such quaint nationalistic views. It is the primary reason behind their state of perpetual war.

- Grand Mandator Deoclet Caesarius

Regardless of your view of unification, humanity cannot allow interspecies conflicts to continue, as they have since the dawn of our species. We must learn that different ideas, different cultures and different attitudes are things to celebrate, not fear.

- Aidan Collins

I am sickened when I hear humans boast about how their species is special and more diverse than that of non-humans as if to imply that we are homogeneous. Races such as mine, have been space-faring for millennia before humans ever journeyed into space. We colonised a million worlds while they argued over lines on a map. They know nothing of diversity.

- Tereyn Aeresius

If we have to go by Hachi as an example, we're either terrified or amused by humans. The latter is more likely.

- Agent Tau

So much potential, but so much disappointment as well.

- The Salsetthe Republic

My species is special. We have Freddie Mercury. No one can top that. No one.

- Phase-Hunter

I do not like humans. They scurry around. They spread with such fervour. They expand far and wide across the Gigaquadrant, possess technologies of considerable nature and yet they forget their youth in this universe. As if they believe that they have been among us since time immemorial. No. Not in eight centuries can a race begin to fathom the universe around them. They play with toys they should not understand yet.

- Kithworto

The Delpha Coalition of Planets has a very low opinion of the Old Earth Nations that do not support the Allied Terran Republic. Humans have an interesting history in the galaxy, though they often act in ways we do not consider orderly, and despite the physical attributes of Terrans being average, cause damage by their often short-sighted natures. We have fought them centuries ago, they have a capacity for war that we also respect. But the DCP sees fruit in working together with the Kindred Coalition and ATR in the Milky Way Cooperative.

- Delpha Coalition of Planets

We are compassionate at heart, but humans pushed that to our limits. For centuries they hunted us, killed us for sport, destroyed our lives and polluted their own world we shared. Then they believed we needed uplifting, ironically, unable to recognise us for what we are.

- Uplifted Cetacea

Nice people to your face. Unfortunately, they are not a nice global species, we have much to teach them about the living world and how to look after it.

- Ectobiomality

Humans are a confusing sort. Too diverse and spread across the universe to summarise in a single sentence. They have potential to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the ancients, and some of them already have. Many of them will defer to a greater authority be it some commander or a confident politician. Yet at the same time the taste of power will give them any excuse to challenge their betters. They could one day become like the ancients were they not so overwhelmingly ruled by their passions.

- Torvos Ultanos

Despite their small frames, to underestimate what a determined human can do would be a grievous mistake.

- Uriel Ultanos

I do have to give credit to Humans where credit is due. Where would we be without them? We wouldn't have spaceships thanks to them. But if you were to strip away their technology, they are the weakest species across the galaxy. They have no fangs, claws, horns to defend themselves. Once you kill one, you can kill them all.

- Ansei

I have met few humans in the three hundred and fifty years I have lived; but when I have met them, they have either been wonderful, or despicable. I'm not sure where to stand on the matter quite frankly.

- High General Key'Tara

Humans are promising , and very interesting, they must be studied, and protected, since every sentient matters, but they seem scared of their interstellar neighbors.

- The Heremeticus

Trivia[]

  • Most of the subspecies and backstory of this page was developed by Wormulon.
  • On the wiki, humanity was first introduced as the Human Republic created by Sapius Prime, which would later become a shared fiction leading to the creation of the Intergalactic Human Republic (which was later renamed the Allied Terran Republic by Cyrannian and Wormulon). In late 2013, Cyrannian created the Division of Earth, which led to the development of other fiction such as the Orion League. Meanwhile, other users such as Dinoman82 created their own versions of humanity to live within their own empires.
