The Planes of Existence are the disconnected spaces and distinct subspaces that exist within the wider Omniverse, which itself encompasses everything that exists and can be described or located by using the concept of space with dimensions and metrics. Given that the Omniverse contains fields with spatially-extended quanta (branes), logical self-consistency ensures that it is described by a total of eleven dimensions, of which one is time.

Reality can be used synonymously with "Omniverse", or it can be used in a more limited sense to refer to the Manifoldverse as the Realitos Realm.

Realitos Realm[]

The Realitos Realm, Axiom, or the Manifoldverse is a plane that is built on mechanistic laws of physics. The First Gigaquadrant is the central nexus of the Realitos Realm. Although it may appear simple in relation to the rest of the Planes of Existence, the Manifoldverse has many features that are alien to those beings that reside in other planes: its adherence to the laws of locality and quantum mechanics means that it possesses an arrow of time, and this in turn allows for different timelines to coexist within the realm and for biological life forms to evolve and perceive changing subjective realities.

The Realitos Realm is contained within the five-dimensional realm of holospace or Sequencium. Sequencium, as with all higher planes, exists only due to Essence and, being non-quantum in nature, beings within it are capable of viewing and editing timelines without being themselves subject to the schema of branching timelines that affects the branes of Axiom. Indeed, as higher planes are beyond not only the branching timelines of the Manifoldverse but also Sequencium and the reach of Chronoscopic, it is often said that "time does not flow" within them.

First Gigaquadrant

Realspace is a brane in the Manifoldverse that possesses three spatial dimensions. This allows realspace to sustain complex material structures such as atoms, molecules, organisms, planets, stars, and galaxies, all of which would be unstable in lower- or higher-dimensional realms.

Many universes are part of the realspace brane, but are separated for one of three reasons: either they exist vast distances from each other, they are pocket universes with altered physics inflated out of hyperspace and accessible via connecting wormholes, or they are different timelines. These groups of universes are known as the Type I, Type II, and Type III multiverse respectively, although there can be overlap between them.

Hyperspace

Hyperspace is the higher-dimensional region of Axiom that includes a fourth spatial dimension. In contrast to its cosmic overall size, the 3D realspace brane is folded on a microscopic scale within the fourth spatial dimension, and hyperspace is the space between the folds. This folded structure gives hyperspace unusual properties that are accessible to technologically advanced societies, allowing for them to use such technologies as faster-than-light travel, hypermatter power, and the manipulation of gravity and time.

Main article: Multiverse

The realspace brane is only one brane within the Manifoldverse, alongside many other branes that have different geometries and topologies, including different shapes and curvatures, closed timelike curves, and even fractal structures.

The ability to reach beyond the realspace brane and to other branes is a feature that marks a civilisation as being Ultraterrestial. Higher planes are separated from Axiom along the remaining six of the ten spatial dimensions and are often inaccessible except through the consent of their ruling gods; furthermore, without Essence-empowered teleportation, matter must travel through the Abyss to reach them, which carries a high risk of spontaneous annihilation.

Essential Realms[]

The Essential Realms are planes constructed out of Essence, and are either created or inhabited by Essentials or other powerful supernatural beings. Two of these realms, Erratsactum and the Realm of Dreams, have been marred by the creation of Shard and the Nightmare Region respectively.

Some Essence planes do not fall into the category of typical Essential Realms, namely the Aberric realm of Marrow (a Chaos Monster plane), the Demonic realm of Inferno (a Xhodocto plane), the Psionic Iluvii Realm (a mental plane), and the Void-dominated inter-universal space that is the Abyss.

Celestial: Illum Alta[]

Kkia'Sihm's realm, Illum Alta or Heaven, was a realm of Celestial Energy and the home of the Obvia'Atra. A grandiose realm of ivory towers and golden landscapes, it was treated as a form of afterlife by many mortals, who believed their souls would be granted eternal rest if they behaved well in life; the accuracy of this is contested, however. It was destroyed during the Annihilation alongside most of the Obvia'Atra population.

Chromatic: Terra Incognita[]

Main article: Terra Incognita

Queen Alice's realm, Terra Incognita, is a five-tiered realm made of Chromatic Energy. Matter is stable in, and only in, the uppermost level; mortals can use this level to contact entities such as Stitches and their deities and to travel faster than light more efficiently than through hyperspace.

Chronoscopic: Sequential Realm[]

Main article: Sequencium

Vyro'Nazdea's realm, the Sequencial Realm or Sequencium, is a utopian realm made of Chronoscopic Essence that surrounds the Manifoldverse. Sequencium is divided into two regions, Vyronia for the Vyro'Narza and Light Chronoscopic and Ralzacia for the Vyro'Ralza and Dark Chronoscopic.

Dream/Nightmare: Realm of Dreams[]

Main article: Realm of Dreams
Dreamworld

Sonhadromerith's realm, the Realm of Dreams, is a plane composed of Dream Energy which resembles a paradise of rest and comfort; some say all dreams in reality are mirrored in this realm, and those who visit it experience bliss and tranquility. The native Thoi'olerthae are among the most empathic Essentials towards mortals, welcoming them and aiding them when they need it.

Main article: Nightmare Region
CranialNightmare

Shu'rimrodir's realm, the Nightmare Region is a portion of the Realm of Dreams that was corrupted by Nightmare Energy after Shu'rimrodir was imprisoned within it; his presence corrupted the plane around him, causing a new pocket realm to be born from his essence. The Nightmare Region is the home space of the Corruptus, invoking all nightmares, fears and phobias of mortals to torment and horrify them.

Life/Death: Erratsactum/Shard[]

Jivanavartin's realm, Erratsactum, is the realm and home of the Vi'Navitum. Composed of Life Energy, it resembles a palatial landscape dominated by unending expanses of raw nature where life proliferates without pause, with immense Da-lan structures piercing through them from which the Essentials watch over the omniverse. Access to it is largely restricted by the Vi'Navitum and their Da-lan servants, who eliminate any intruders on sight.

Shard682013

Mrityavartin's realm, Shard, is the realm and the dominion of the Xi'Arazulha. The plane of Death Energy, Shard is a broken realm of violent energies which resembles a dead, ruined counterpart of Erratsactum, with surreal landscapes resembling shattered glass culminating on a massive jagged throne where Mrityavartin resides. This realm came to be as a prison for the Xi'Arazulha, but the entities have since gained the ability to come and go at their own leisure.

Mystic: Atlantica Realms[]

The plane of existence on which the Mystic Atlantica dwell is divided into separate realms, heavens and hells of both the Atlantica themselves and the peoples of the Quadrant Galaxies. From these, the use of the word "Realm" to describe an entire plane of existence is derived.

Dinoman82's realm is known as the Reflective Realm, an exact replica of the Rambo Nation's homeworld and various other planets found in the Quadrants. It is for the people who die within their home area; their spirits wander the realm living a life the same as they did in their previous life. It is possible for the spirit to go to and from the Reflective Realm and Selenyia's realm. The Reflective Realm is under the power of the Ultimate One, though the entity himself is rarely seen outside his palace. His representative, known as the Mouth, seems to rule in his stead. Anyone that is punished in this realm is sent to Artmyris' realm, whereas the Ramboidae consider the Reflective Realm as their heaven.

The Reflective Realm lies in the middle of the Atlantica Realms. During the Intergalactic War, the Rambo Ancientia Capitol was added to the Reflective Realm, which was the Ancientia's destiny, and now the Ancientia Capitol is the first line of defense and entrance to the Reflective Realm; everyone who arrives at the Atlantica Realms does so by passing the Ancientia Capitol.

Artmyris's realm is known as the Chaos Realm, a cold, stormy place where the Rambo Resistance or the evil individuals of the Quadrants are sent for punishment. A common phrase by the Ramboidae is: "Go to Chaos, where Chaos is endless and eternal" (they only tell this to the persons they really dislike). It is possible for the punished in Dinoman82's realm or Selenyia's realm to be sent here for a trial for forgiveness. Artmyris also had absolute control here, and spirits of Quadrantians wander this land forever, seeking solitude and peace. However, after the defeat of Artmyris the Chaos Realm became a dangerous place, with demons fighting for power as the Chaos Realm was left without a ruler.

The Chaos Realm lies underneath the Reflective Realm and the other Atlantica Realms. Considered as hell by the Ramboidae, it can be reached in two ways: falling down in the Pit, or using the massive and lengthy stair case.

Selenyia's realm, the Paradise Realm, was a sunny world and full of life. Its water came from the Spring of Peace, a place where Selenyia roamed. The Paradise Realm was a reward for spirits who deserved it, but there was also a part of the realm called The Forsaken Land. The punished of this realm were sent into this pit, and stayed there until they were ready to come out, which usually took almost a thousand years. Otherwise, the Paradise Realm was for the good in life.

A neighbouring realm to the Reflective Realm, it was located south of the Reflective Realm and it was considered to be a paradise. Only the most notable persons could be found here, and those who made a difference in the Quadrants' history. After the death of Selenyia at the hands of the Mornûnendur, the Realm ceased to exist and all inside fled to the Reflective Realm.

Otherwise known as the Jungle Realm, Horus's Realm of Perfection is a place where all life co-exists with each other. If life in this realm goes out of order, Horus cleanses the realm in order for life to co-exist again. The cleansing usually goes in a 2000 year cycle. The spirits on this realm are actually live citizens that are given by Dinoman82. This realm is also called The Experimental Realm, as Horus puts life in order. Horus's realm is a modelling realm to see what the Rambo can live with. None can enter it without the permission of Horus or the Ultimate One.

Xhodocto Planes[]

The four Xhodocto are associated with one plane each: Angazhar with Inferno, Draguros with Equilibrium, Santorakh with Insomnia, and Krathazhrukhal with Arx. Each realm is ruled over by the Xhodocto but is also home to its own native species of Chaos Monsters.

Main article: Inferno
Inferno2017

Inferno, known also as Hell, is a plane governed by Angazhar and is the home realm of the Samut'angar. Likened to the ancient Gigaquadrantic perceptions of the afterlife of eternal punishment, Inferno is a supernatural dimension that contains laws and nature alien to common understanding. Out of all supernatural dimensions known to the First Gigaquadrant, Inferno is one of the most threatening and among the most well understood, having been a source of near-universal threats during the War of Ages. Inferno is a frequented plane of existence by certain individuals of the Tuuros Galaxy, as several rifts towards Inferno still exist in realspace and hyperspace.

Equilibrium

Equilibrium is the realm of Draguros. Only understood as something and none to those of speak of it, Equilibrium is the very fringe of existence and non-existence, inaccessible and impossible to understand to all beings. It is said that nothing but Draguros observes this realm, gazing upon its vastness with an unwavering eye.

Realm of Forget

Insomnia is a perplexing dominion ruled by Santorakh. Oddly similar to that of thick and verdant forests, Insomnia has winding and interconnecting lands, and it is often thought that one easily loses their way without proper direction. As the realm of the God of Madness himself, the mad inhabit this plane and are adherents to its lawlessness and ever-changing customs. As a result, denizens of Insomnia are frequently haggard, decrepit and in most cases are harmless. There are those who thrive in madness and stand above the idiocy of the supernatural peasantry, although they themselves are under the control of the Mad God. Though there are no laws concerning the safety of Insomnia's denizens, there is only one, immovable and unchangeable rule; do not defy the will of Santorakh. Defiance of the Mad God brings terrible consequences upon those who are mad enough.

Arx

Arx is the immense and perfect realm of Krathazhrukhal. Lorded over by innumerable entities beyond mortal, Arx is sometimes defined as a perfect order ruled by the God of Order himself. However, as these beings live within the perfect realm they also believe that all other realms harbour imperfections that must be erased. Whilst Arx is lawful and orderly, denizens of Arx wish for little more than the destruction of imperfect realms, which they believe are an insult to the eyes of Krathazhrukhal. Despite the zeal and dedication these denizens have to their god, Krathazhrukhal has no real concern for the destruction of other realms nor is he concerned for his denizens. Krathazhrukhal is only concerned for the harmony of the realm, and those that disturb his harmony are erased without hesitation.

Chaos Monster Planes[]

Some planes are ruled over by powerful Chaos Monsters.

Main article: Marrow
MarrowRealm2

Marrow is an immense and chaotic realm ruled by Khi’voranix. Marrow is inhabited by an order of Chaos Monster known as the Ozax, who have a transfinite population within the realm. Marrow is sentient and constantly expanding, absorbing various realities in Axiom into its ever-expanding fold. To walk into Marrow is to walk into a dead realm, with an immeasurable cold air and an aura that causes those to walk into Marrow to steadily lose their sanity and their body, warped by the ambient energies of Marrow into a ravenous, mutant, beast.

Erebus

Erebus is an abyssal realm known only by name and by its ruler, Anzilanarus. A realm of darkness, bathed in a drowning malevolence, its inhabitants are as fluid as water and are invisible to the eyes of those lesser, and their minds and very power they possess make even the Essentials appear simple in comparison. Erebus is one of the highest and most inconceivable of all realms, and opening it upon any lesser realm will tear it asunder.

The Abyss[]

Void

The Abyss is the higher-dimensional space between planes. It is extremely unstable, as parts of it phase in and out of existence at random, a phenomenon known as The Interplay. While it is possible to traverse the Abyss, the act of doing so puts the individual and every object that came with them in danger of being subject to the Abyss' nature. The person could be adventuring in a patch of the Abyss one moment, and then obliterated by the sudden shift of non-existence the next. However, the energies that penetrate the Abyss are known to grant incredible power to those with the ability to harness it.

Mental Realms[]

AstralPlane

A psychedelic experience of one's reality tunnel.

Most sentient species have altered states of consciousness, and unique realms can be constructed through these states, not by an Essential or an Essence godform like the Essential Realms, but in the mind of an individual. The astral and nether planes often involve Essence, and so can be accessed by most species even if their mental experiences differ, while the Technoosphere is a mental realm created through technological means.

Astral travel is a transitional state of Essence-perceiving consciousness which is experienced when mind is altered to any other state. Sometimes this can be used to access the subconscious and the collective unconsciousness of ideas, memes and even thoughtforms. Psychonauts are people who do this to explore their reality and to seek meaning or control, while practitioners of Essence walk the astral planes to discover their psychic powers or to talk to telepathic entities. They do this by learning how illusions are covered by appearances in their reality; the more subjective, the more lucid. And yet this can extend their conscious awareness of Essence itself, allowing them to achieve psychic powers that seem magical to those who not understand.

Surreal astral plane

An individual's astral plane is an inner sanctum, unique and subjective. To those whose purposes are yet to be fulfilled, their astral planes are vast and empty, while others' contain things, some with no relation to the material plane. Once the proper psychonautic state of consciousness is achieved, influences from ideas and emotions often fill the plane, and sometimes this can spill into dreams or normal life in the form of synchronicity. It is the path of elemental energy to peer through even the astral plane to the Nether-plane and beyond that still, until enlightenment is achieved. However, the revelations revealed by the astral plane are often in the "come-down" towards consensus reality. Astral planes are often governed by the magical rhetoric of ideas, sympathies, language, and intention, as opposed to natural laws.

Purgatory (Eola'Nar: Laran'Naeo "land of mind") is a realm of thoughts and emotions; every kind of thought changes the realm and makes it different. Being changed by thoughts, Purgatory is in constant chaos, except for an island of order in the Realm of Law.

Main article: Realm of Law
Spore 2011-03-02 21-38-55

The Realm of Law is the part of Purgatory controlled by Eola'Nar. It is in contrast with ever-changing chaotic uncontrolled Purgatory, for it is a strict organised land of purple light. Something close to concepts of building and towers are here, made of the same purple light. Two Sanktanaars are leaders of this place; nothing is changed without their permission.

Spore 2010-07-05 21-20-19

This concept is largely based on Eastern Philosophy.

The Nether-plane is a mental plane of being used by adepts of elemental energy to experience a duality of concepts where one cannot exist without the other - concepts like hot and cold, light and dark, life and death - where both exist as one, like a monad. Elemental essence is often generated by merging dual-spiritual concepts, and only when the contrasts evaporate (an act which is neither willing or doing) will an adept transcend them on their way to conceptlessness.

Warlord Kilnok once entered a reality tunnel that forced him to inhabit Nether-plane for a subjective eternity, in order to resurrect Master Kroc so he could save the universe in the War of Ages.

Spore 2011-03-14 02-06-30

The progress of knowledge (in many forms) and related things such as language can profoundly change the lifestyles, beliefs, values and even perceptions of sentient species in Realitos. In particular, once a species has created technology which can both replace their lives, and even fundamentally rebuild their parochial minds, creativity of mind becomes unlimited.

While cyberspace and virtual worlds were nothing new, by the 28th century, the progress of major civilisations has come together, linked by networks of superintelligent minds. A brilliant noosphere of knowledge and experience from sentient minds across the known universe. At the very least people joining the Technoosphere could create "designer reality VRs", be immortal, split copies of themselves only to merge later or travel unbound by distance, alone having profound effects on society and perceived limits. For example, it would be the norm for people could pop in and out of existence unexpectedly, meaning that privacy would be have to be re-evaluated. It is conceivable that one day such progress could evolve even being, as some of the AI intelligences had already emerged into something beyond consciousness, redefining even the meaning of a "mental plane".

Of course, many portions of the Technoosphere are limited. Sometimes Superordinates may impose rules or active features that can prevent crime. Other Artificial and Emergent Intelligences were off-limits to cyber-surfers, being far too hostile or self-referenced, or just not understandable to lower subsets in the Technoosphere. It should be pointed out that although many uses for the Technoosphere are novel, many are also mundane, only strange in retrospect, and for many people they become absorbed into the normality of everyday life.
