The Vi'Navitum, also known by the name Verezaph, are a formidable species of extraplanar creatures who serve as the Essentials of Life Energy. Hailing from the realm of Erratsactum, the Vi'Navitum serve as a manifestation of the cycle of life and death alongside their counterparts, the Xi'Arazulha, having the divine purpose of spreading the seeds of life across reality. They serve as perhaps the most mysterious of the quintet which includes the Vyro'Narza, the Thoi'olerthae, the Iluvii and the Obvia'Atra as the Essentials most empathic to the plight of mortals.

History[]

The Vi'Navitum are creations of the godform called Jivanavartin, who created them to fulfill a divine purpose across reality alongside his sibling entity, Mrityavartin‎, and his own Xi'Arazulha. In what is believed to have been a mandate by the Xhodocto known as Krathazhrukhal, the Vi'Navitum begun traveling across the various realms of reality, planting the seeds of life before moving on to the next, while their Xi'Arazulha counterparts devoured the dying and gave way for life to be born once more. Upon seeding an universe, the Vi'Navitum would leave behind an overseer in the form of a Da-lan, an incredibly powerful artificial intelligence, who would alert its masters should their attention be required for any reason.

At one point in their history, the Vi'Navitum were forced to wage war on most of the Xi'Arazulha after Mrityavartin‎ pledged himself to the dreaded Angazhar, causing a fracturing of Erratsactum which led to the rise of the realm of Shard; while the Vi'Navitum managed to confine their fallen brethren to the realm, it would not be an inescapable prison. They also attempted an experiment upon a pocket universe that led to the birth of the Aichatharna, a new race of Essentials - while the Vi'Navitum considered sharing their powers with them at first, the Aichatharna's eventual self-destruction caused the Vi'Navitum to give up on the idea, not trusting anyone other than themselves to properly fulfill their metaphysical functions.

The Vi'Navitum are believed to have visited the Onuris Universe shortly after its formation, leaving a Da-lan behind before moving on; from that point forth, their interactions with this universe were negligible. However, the Onuris Da-lan begun calling out to its masters with the coming of the War of Ages, as the surge of Samut'angar activity was a threat that the Vi'Navitum could not ignore. With the coming of the Annihilation, the Vi'Navitum worked alongside other benevolent Essentials and saved multiple galaxies from complete destruction by using their powers to envelop them in 'arks' which blocked off most of the damage, but were not perfect. Apalos was created from one of such arks, and were given the duty of overseeing the universe following the catastrophic damage it endured.

The rise of the Dominion of the Xhodocto is believed to have led the Vi'Navitum to fully turn their attention to the Onuris Universe and pay special attention to it. They were among the Essentials who aided Volzara in Time's Terminus, coming to her aid during the final confrontation with Zargoth.

Characteristics[]

Biology[]

The Vi'Navitum are creatures composed entirely of Life Essence, resembling tall humanoids with a translucent hide which shimmers in energy, sporting long horns, an armored body and a long tail. Due to the abundance of Life Energy coursing through them, their very bodies serve as catalysts for the growth of life, with plant-like appendates manifesting in their skin; often their limbs, which constantly grow, wither and repeat.

Behavior[]

The Vi'Navitum are characterized by a stoic demeanor, rarely reacting to outside stimuli outside of great distress. It is believed that eons of seeding life across the cosmos, only for it to eventually die out, has led the Vi'Navitum to grow less emotional in order to not grow attached to their creations. The fall of the Xi'Arazulha to Angazhar is also believed to have turned many of them deeply cynical, as they are now forced to fight their own brethren. Combating the servants of the Xhodocto is one of the few occasions where their stoic behavior fades, with them being capable of surprising acts of violence against them.

Abilities[]

As the Essentials of Life Energy, the Vi'Navitum hold supreme power over it. By manipulating it, they are able to accelerate the growth of life, or manipulate the necessary components that would lead to its inception. The very presence of a Vi'Navitum is said to cause plants to grow and bloom around them, to purge pollutants from the air, and to cleanse liquids of anything considered poisonous. Likewise, the Vi'Navitum are able to use this offensively, unleashing rays of energy which turn their foes into lumps of regenerating tissue until they are crushed under their own weight.

Individuals[]

Jivanavartin is the Essential God of Life Energy and the creator of the Vi'Navitum. Ruling from the realm of Erratsactum, he oversees the actions of the Verezaph and watches over any calls from the Da-lan that may require the attention of the Essentials. While considered among the benevolent gods of existence, Jivanavartin is as stoic and detached as the rest of the Vi'Navitum, leading him to be largely unknown through the Onuris Universe.

Notes[]

Quotes[]

It is by the will of the gods of life that we exist, and by their providence that we now preserve their creation.

Willingly denying the unstoppable design is tantamount to insanity; they should know this better than I.

- Hez'Kalka

Our kind observed and spent ourselves in the pursuit of life-creation. They believe this to be their vocation; we believed their one purpose was meaningless.

- Lord Zhuleshxi
