Natural Landmarks are unique features on planets that serve to decorate a planet and make it more interesting to explore. They first appear in the Creature Stage and stay there throughout the rest of the game.

Ancient relics[]

Temples[]

Temple

An ancient temple with obelisks.

Temples can only be found on a homeworld. They are the remnants of a long-lost civilization that was previously on a planet. They stand out from hills and mountains since they bear a tiered shape and are decorated with rocks and Obelisks (see below) that have symbols on them. The Temple landform can be placed on the planet in the Adventure Editor.

Obelisks[]

Obelisks appear to be Monoliths made out of a heavily weathered brown stone. They are sometimes found alongside temples, or alone. When alone, Obelisks will have a crop circle around them. The crop circle will have circles around small Obelisks, and lines connecting the circles to a big circle around a larger Obelisk. Some Obelisks have been found in trios, two small ones standing along a big one. Some others can be found in groups of five, usually surrounding temples.

Monoliths[]

Monolith

A monolith.

Monoliths generated by the Monolith tool will also appear as a landmark on a planet. Monoliths can also be placed in the adventure editor.

Crop Circles[]

Occasionally Crop Circles like those generated by the Space Stage tool or the same name will appear on a planet. Crop circles can be found by the player in the creature, tribal and space stages. Crop Circles are also commonly found accompanying other landmarks such as Obelisks (see above).

Statue Heads[]

LlamaHeads

Two Llama Heads found in the Tribal Stage.

Sometimes, one or more Statue Heads will appear on a homeworld. They are massive in size, roughly the size of an Epic creature.

Crashed UFOs[]

Crashed UFO

Creatures approaching a crashed UFO.

Crashed UFOs will appear on a homeworld in the creature stage. Crashed UFOs are known to appear on only two planets: the first is a homeworld, and the second is the T-1 Planet the player is sent to during the first tutorial mission. In the Creature stage, they will be surrounded by fossils. If it is a Grox ship, it will emit harmless purple smoke and may beep before exploding.

Asteroids[]

Meteor

An asteroid.

Asteroids that have crashed onto a planet after an asteroid impact event in the Creature Stage. At least one fossil is usually found in the crater made by the asteroid. Asteroids can be placed onto planets in the Adventure Creator.

Hyper Epic Bones[]

Bones

The Hyper Epic.

The skeletal remains left behind by creatures of massive proportions dubbed Hyper Epics. Fossils can be found inside the massive bones. These skeletons are at least twice the size of a common Epic creature. They can be placed in the Adventure Creator.

Footprints[]

Giant footprints are larger than those of Epics and can only appear on a homeworld. They appear to be linked with the giant bones. Sometimes there are bones inside the footprints, maybe stepped on and crushed by the giant creature. They sometimes also come out of the sea, across the land, and back into the sea, as the owner seems too big to be troubled by the sea monster.

Ruins[]

City Ruins.

Ruins are the remnants of a lost civilization that was destroyed by the Grox. They take the appearance of a dilapidated city similar to those in the Civilization and Space stages. They will always appear on a spiceless planet the player must visit during the space tutorial mission. As part of the tutorial mission, the City Ruins will spawn two or three security drones that remained on the planet upon scanning it.

Landforms[]

These include valleys, craters, mountains, volcanoes, rivers, arches, crystals, mushroom-shaped rocks, spice geysers, mesas, canyons and more. All of them can be placed in the Adventure Creator.

Volcanoes[]

Volcanos-0

A creature being lifted over a volcano.

Volcanoes are an uncommon rock formation which can be found from the Creature Stage onwards. During the creature stage, if a creature climbs to the top, they will a boost said creature into the air, sometimes even out of the atmosphere.

Premade volcanoes are not available to place in the Adventure Editor but can be made by placing a lava pit on top of a hill or elevated surface.

Spice Geyser[]

Spice Geysers are small cracks in the planet's surface that emit a pillar of colored gas corresponding to what type of spice the planet generates. Spice geysers give a huge boost of altitude to any creature that steps on it. Spice Geysers in the Creature Stage are always red as homeworlds will only generate red spice.
