Parsec, or pc is a real life unit used in the game measuring the distance between star systems. One parsec equals to 3.0857×1016 meters, or 3.16256 light-years.
The mathematical definition of a parsec is the length of a single line that allows the placing another congruent line such that it creates a one-sixtieth of a degree angle at one of the end points of each of the lines and the other end points are one astronomical unit (the distance between the Earth and the Sun) away.
Your spaceship can only make an interstellar jump within a certain amount of parsecs in which your Interstellar Drive can travel in one jump.
