Koldenwelt is a planet protected by the Source, and is the main location for the Fantasy Universe.

  +
Koldenwelt is a planet located in the Aethereal Firmament and one of, if not the most important planet in the mortal plane. Arguably governed by the supreme entity known as Isiris, Koldenwelt is a lush, living world filled to the brim with all kinds of creatures, ranging from humanoids to beasts and dragons. The planet is fundamentally linked to the magic essence known as the Source and god-like entities known as the Colossi have roamed it ever since its very creation, both aiding in its foundation and trying to destroy it.
Geography
The main continent of Koldenwelt extends from the Arctic Circle to the Equator, and thus has features ranging from frozen tundra to thick jungle.

  +
Through its history, Koldenwelt has been subject to constant shifts of power and conflicts where gods battled each other in its surface, and since times immemorial, the dreaded Simulacra had great degree of interest in the planet. Koldenwelt is a world of great variation regarding geography and climate, possessing tropical rainforests, arid deserts, great mountain ranges and volcanic hotspots. Civilizations are always sprouting on the planet, ranging from small tribes to great empires and kingdoms, and this is unlikely to ever end unless an impossibly grand cataclysm destroys the entire world.
The planet has a large ammount of water on its surface, which makes up at least one large ocean surrounding the main continent. These oceans are currently ruled the Sea Peoples.

History
Years in Koldenwelt's history are given in the BNA/NA (Before New Age/New Age) dating system. Koldenwelt's history is divided into five "Ages" - Prehistoric, Orichalcum, Adamantine, Old, and New –– each separated by major events.
The north of the continent, above and around the Arctic Circle, is frozen for all but a few months of the year. Above the Arctic Circle, there is little life, especially as the summer often brings with it perpetual sunlight and the winter often becomes a seemingly-eternal night.

  +
Prehistoric Age (Beginning - 40,000 BNA)
The Northern Region is home to the Urindalë civilisation; nearby races include the Voledari Clan, the Empire of Gorthúron and the Arakai.

  +
The exact date of Koldenwelt's creation is unknown to all, and the exact means of how the world came to be is often subject of legends in multiple civilizations. Some myths say the world was molded by Isiris and then had its oceans and landmasses shaped by the Colossi Tritonomarth and Venertimanoth respectively, while the Orichalcum Elves believed the world came to be after Caligaduro Provectus, the supreme god of Nothing, separated the planes of existence in thirteen realms, with Koldenwelt being molded by the actions of the three Celestial Deities Soldalatel, Aethereus and Akhemazdrís. Regardless of how Koldenwelt was created, its very first inhabitants are believed to have been the first Colossi and the entities known as Elementals, who were followed by the first of the True Dragon races such as the Storm Drakes, the Fire Drakes and the Sun Drakes.

  +
At some point, Koldenwelt was visited and colonized by the Echdrarothrayu, a race of extraplanar entities created by Soldalatel and Aethereus, who are responsible for introducing speech and agriculture to some Drake races and early Deiwos cultures, including the Orichalcum Elves and the Néva, and ancient civilizations of beastmen also became known with the rise of the Ondarei Mharinis, the Sohet and the Cobalt Kingdom. At this point in history, Caligaduro Provectus's presence in the world became more and more active until the Simulacrum launched an all-out invasion in the world alongside his two other Simulacrum creations Vargash and Kaicaiusarin, leading to Koldenwelt being infested by Void Denizens and resulting in the destruction of entire civilizations and landmasses, including the Storm Drakes, Sun Drakes and the Echdrarothrayu alongside the islands they called home.
The Northern Mountains, located in the south of Polar Lands and immediately north of the Western Forests, are home to the Tragnon, dwarves who have massive mines and forts there. The whole southern side of the Northern Mountains belong to them.

  +
The following thousands of years had Koldenwelt being a battlefield between gods and armies of mortals against demons of various sources. Other Simulacra such as Mortium, Nalashtannylor, Zran Kar and the Crux all became active around this era, as well as Colossi who were born as time passed and unique deities such as Pheonas. Some ancient civilizations such as the Sea Giants and the Sohet, found themselves being slowly destroyed by the forces of the Void alongside other dark entities who had risen such as the Lympharians and the Idkin, while other civilizations such as the Orichalcum Elves, the Aithrena Elves and the Kormacvarah managed to rise to power and survive the onslaught commanded by Caligaduro. This era also saw the creation of the dreaded locations known as Void Fortresses, which became the home of the Void Denizens who plagued Koldenwelt.
In the northeastern reaches of Koldenwelt lie the Forgotten Lands, which has been untouched by civilisation for hundreds of thousands of years. Even further north east lies Serenity Woods, a mysteriously dreaded place.

Orichalcum Age (39,999 BNA - 23,500 BNA)
Eastern Plains
  +
The beginning of the Orichalcum Age is determined by the date of the oldest records of the Orichalcum Elf Imperium, though other civilizations had records before then which have since been lost. Very little is known about this era, but it is known the Colossi and Soldalatel had allied in order to combat Caligaduro Provectus' presence, waging war against his servants. The Orichalcum Elf Imperium itself was at one point nearly destroyed by the efforts of the demon known as Lord Akharav, and civilizations such as the Sea Giants, the Sohet and the Kormacvarah found themselves close to extinction. It is believed that this era was also when the Sea Giant-Sohet-Ordnung-Kormacvarah alliance created the first Machine Drakes in order to combat the denizens of the Void. The era's end is marked by the end of the reign of the last Orichalcum Elf tyrants.

  +
Adamantine Age (23,499 BNA - 15,000 BNA)
Towards the east lies a large, semi-arid grassland region, which begins as heathland near the arctic circle, continues into a vast steppe and scrublands in the temperate regions and ends as savannah where it borders the tropical forests at the south. The grass is watered by rivers, such as the Rin, most of which run from the mountains in the far east towards the sea at the western and southern coasts of the continent. There are large areas, dozens of kilometres away from these rivers, that are actually desert.

  +
The Adamantine Age marked the end of the war between immortalkind and the Colossi against the denizens of the Void through a mutual defeat of both sides. The Sea Giants, the Sohet and the Kormacvarah were completely extincted during this era, while the Cobalt Kingdom was defeated and forced into hiding. Around the age of 20,000 BNA, the organization known as the Dawn Wardens was founded in an attempt to fight off the forces of the Void, and while they achieved success for about sixty years, they were eventually destroyed and razed off the face of the world, becoming little more than legend. The last of the Colossi would also die out around this era, many of them dying to either Caligaduro or his servants.

  +
The forces of the Void would also find themselves defeated after Vargash and Kaicaiusarin were imprisoned deep in the earth, and several thousand years later were followed by Caligaduro Provectus himself, who was imprisoned beneath the islands known as the Archipelago. To keep the Simulacrum trapped, Isiris and the other Simulacra would create an extremely powerful artifact known as the Eye, created by a combination of the supreme entity's powers, the powers of Caligaduro's enemy Simulacra and the souls of the dead Colossi, creating an item of enough power to act as a counter-measure against Caligaduro Provectus' powers, keeping him buried beneath the Archipelago with seemingly no way of getting out without external help. The denizens of the Void were either trapped with him, destroyed, returned to their realm or went into hibernation, causing the war to finally end. Caligaduro's defeat caused a great flood which hit the Tropical Lands and destroyed what remained of the Orichalcum Elf Imperium, with survivors of the race leading an exodus to the region of Abyssus, pushing out the native Klaxxa of the region and settling in it. These Orichalcum Elves would come to worship Caligaduro Provectus as a god and be corrupted by the powers of the Void, leading to them being turned into the Shiarchon.
Close to the border with the Northern Region lie the Stormlands, so named because of the constant, violent storms that affect the area. Inhabiting it are the Lunsincth, a race of large Dragon-like beings who can fly gracefully through the air without lifting a wing. It is almost impenetrable, and the weather causeed by a mixture of climatic activity and the Lunsincth's magic.

  +
Despite the great destruction in this era, it also marked the rising of a new generation of great powers such as the Throne of Qliphoth and the Sovereignty of Dryada, which would eventually replace the Orichalcum Elves as the largest and most influential elven empire in Koldenwelt's surface.
Southeast of the Stormalands, in the two inland seas of Xa'in and Korishimia, there are a few large islands, where a rather secretive race inhabits. They may well be another tribe of Elves, but not even their name is known, and they are quick to defend their territory from any intruders. As no one has ever been known to penetrate their defenses, they may have strong naval forces and a perimeter around the island. The Lunsincth may also have came from this region; if so, there might be a cultural connection between the two races.

  +
Old Age (14,999 BNA - 1 BNA)
West of this is where the Seven Knights Council's homeland is. They are led by Lord Tyrborin and Queen Alibellath, and they only control a enough space to meet their civilization's needs. The villages of the Nand'ieos Clan, a tribal group of creatures that just evolved from their creature stage and also led by Chieftain Menatr'olieos, are around the Seven Knights Council's capital city of Kyroitriteqi.

  +
The Old Age is marked by the rise of hundreds upon hundreds of new civilizations after the denizens of the Void were defeated, alongside the birth of a new generation of Colossi known in the current days as the New Colossi. The early stages of the Old Age were also marked by the founding of the dreaded Legion of Shiarchon by the now disfigurated survivors of the Orichalcum Elf Imperium and the creation of vampirism after the Simulacrum Zran Kar created the first generation of Pureblood Vampires. The Dweorg, a slave race of the Cobalt Kingdom, would also rebel against their masters and achieve independence, eventually giving birth to several races of dwarves across Koldenwelt.

  +
More recent and eventually influential nations were born in the Old Age such as the Merovar Dynasty in the deserts, the Dalmiric Kingdom in the northwest, the Honsaru Domain and Min Lagosi in the west, the Undine Sphere in the south seas, the Ar-Klith Sky Empire of the eastern mountains and the Urindalë of the north. The Sovereignty of Dryada would find itself in a civil war once its human population rebelled against elvenkind, eventually leading to the birth of the Empire of Man and to humankind becoming widespread across Koldenwelt's eastern continent, primarily in its east. While wars most certainly existed in this era, none of them were as bad or caused as many casualties as the wars against the denizens of the Void, though one particular event is considered to be the closest in these terms.
Further south, the temperate parts of Plains contain the Ar-Klith Mountains, a small group of active and dormant volanoes that are the home of the Klaxxa civilisation.

  +
The largest war in recent history is known as the War for the Eye, which was marked by the Legion of Shiarchon waging war against the world and launching an attack at the Archipelago for the purpose of obtaining the Eye and freeing Caligaduro Provectus from his prison. Many of Koldenwelt's most powerful nations united forces to combat the Shiarchon threat, and the war eventually ended in their defeat, with the Legion being forced to retreat to Abyssus and enter a state of seclusion. The war was not one-sided though for many lives were lost, including the complete destruction of the Archipelago Elves.
In the southeastern savannah grasslands are the Vrorekaa Territories.

New Age (1 NA - Today)
  +
The end of the War for the Eye marked the end of the Old Age and the beginning of the New Age, which lasts to this day. This era is currently marked by the surviving allies of the War for the Eye rebuilding the damage caused by it and so that they may prepare themselves for a future conflict, while more new races join international affairs after being so far unaffected by such conflicts. Technological, military and magical advancements have been made through the world unlike any seen in thousands of years.
In the west lies a large forested region, although large areas of it have been cleared by systematic deforestation by native civilisations, and there are long coastlines where the land meets the ocean all along the far western edge of the land. Like the Eastern Plains, the type of forest depends on the latitude, varying from thick conifer forest where it borders the Northern Region, to deciduous woodland, where it eventually turns into subtropical forest. This small region is considered to be where the Western Forests end and the Tropical Lands begin.

  +
By the year 31 NA, the Legion of Shiarchon has rebuilt from its losses and now prepares to wage war against the world once again, thanks to recent events which have not only boosted their power but also granted it allies against the other races of the continent. Caligaduro Protectus' influence is growing once more, and at the same time granting his servants the power of affecting the world once again, with activities from factions such as the Lympharian Collective, the Insomnolence and the Merkan Underrealm becoming more common and visible. It is only a matter of time before a new world war is declared, and whether the world is prepared for it or not is yet to be seen.
The Western Forest are the home of numerous spirits which protect the woods, as such, the inhabitants of the western forests tend to have a spiritist culture/religion. The most famous of these spirits and the most powerful is named Okaima, residing in the largest tree of the Woods. Its roots easily influence a third of the entire forest, providing the trees with magical power.

In the centre of the region lies the city state of Reneath lies, home of the warrior race called Maern'Ren. On the southwestern border of the Western Forests sits the Everwinter Highlands, home of the Dèlwen, The Knights, Panssari and Nobi. Members of the Cult of Pilgni can be found scattered across the whole of the Western Forests, with followers from various races. It is possible that members the Cult can be found in every city and village in the Forests, although there is little evidence for this theory. Other races of the Western Forests include the Shaeg and Screeg, and the races of Eierland.

The world of Koldenwelt is not a unified society, being composed of various tribes, cities, and nations. However, it can be roughly divided into two regions based on cultural and trade links, seperated by the deserts of the Eastern Plains. These areas of influence resulted in several languages, the "common tongues", becoming widely-used across the planet in diplomacy and trade. These first of these was the Old Tongue, an ancient Elvish language which fell into disuse at the end of the Adamantine Age. It is still sometimes used for ceremonial names, and its descendants make up the majority of languages on the planet. The modern-day common tongues are the pidgins Kolden (in the west) and New Common (in the east).

History

Years in Koldenwelt's history are given in the BNA/NA (Before New Age/New Age) dating system. Koldenwelt's history is divided into five "Ages" - Prehistoric, Orichalcum, Adamantine, Old, and New –– each separated by major events.

Prehistoric Age (Beginning - 40,000 BNA)

Orichalcum Age (39,999 BNA - 23,500 BNA)

Adamantine Age (23,499 BNA - 15,000 BNA)

Despite the great destruction in this era, it also marked the rising of a new generation of great powers such as the Throne of Qliphoth and the Sovereignty of Dryada, which would eventually replace the Orichalcum Elves as the largest and most influential elven empire in Koldenwelt's surface.

Old Age (14,999 BNA - 1 BNA)

New Age (1 NA - Today)

The end of the War for the Eye marked the end of the Old Age and the beginning of the New Age, which lasts to this day. This era is currently marked by the surviving allies of the War for the Eye rebuilding the damage caused by it and so that they may prepare themselves for a future conflict, while more new races join international affairs after being so far unaffected by such conflicts. Technological, military and magical advancements have been made through the world unlike any seen in thousands of years.

Geography

The main continent of Koldenwelt extends from the Arctic Circle to the Equator, and thus has features ranging from frozen tundra to thick jungle. The planet has a large amount of water on its surface, which makes up at least one large ocean surrounding the main continent.

The Eastern Continent

Polar Lands

The north of the continent, above and around the Arctic Circle, is frozen for all but a few months of the year. Above the Arctic Circle, there is little life, especially as the summer often brings with it perpetual sunlight and the winter often becomes a seemingly-eternal night. The Northern Region is home to the Urindalë civilisation; nearby races include the Drow, the Empire of Gorthúron and the Arakai.

In the northeastern reaches of Koldenwelt lie the Forgotten Lands, which has been untouched by civilisation for hundreds of thousands of years. Even further north east lies Serenity Woods, a mysteriously dreaded place.

Eastern Plains

Eastern Plains

The Eastern Plains.

Close to the border with the Northern Region lie the Stormlands, so named because of the constant, violent storms that affect the area. Inhabiting it are the Lunsincth, a race of large Dragon-like beings who can fly gracefully through the air without lifting a wing. It is almost impenetrable, and the weather caused by a mixture of climatic activity and the Lunsincth's magic.

Southeast of the Stormlands, in the two inland seas of Xa'in and Korishimia, there are a few large islands, where a rather secretive race inhabits.

Further south, the temperate parts of Plains contain the Ar-Klith Mountains, a small group of active and dormant volanoes that are the home of the Klaxxa civilisation. In the southeastern savannah grasslands are the Vrorekaa Territories.

Western Forests

Western Forests

The Western Forests.

On the southwestern border of the Western Forests sits the Everwinter Highlands, home of the Dèlwen, The Knights, Panssari and Knobi.

The Fernia Domian lies on the edge with the Tropical Lands. This region serves as the home of the Fernia Tribes and the Trofandalorians. Off the coast of the Western Forests lies the relatively small island continent of Marmor, home to four distinct and currently unknown species. Marmor was once home to a kingdom of a reptillian kingdom near the south of the island known as Marmoreal, however, this kingdom mysteriously vanished recently, it's once verdant grasslands replaced by a volcanic wasteland. The northern half of Marmor however, remains green, uncorrupted by the dark magic that spreads from the South. At the central mountains of Marmor, there are special part of forest which keep untouchable for many millenia, Forest of The Ancients.

Tropical Lands

Tropical Lands

The Tropical Lands.

The southern edge of the continent lies a few hundred kilometres north of the Equator. Its primary features include sand-covered beaches, which continue from those along the Western Forests, and tropical rainforests. Locations within the Tropical Lands include Abyssus (home of the Shiarchon) in the Southern Mountains, the Enigmar Rift, and Sprak Island (home of the Caxildiz) three kilometres from the southern coast. Further south, fifty kilometres into the ocean, lies the Archipelago, although it appears that the Archipelago was part of the mainland many thousands of years ago.

The Fernia Domian lies on the edge with the Western Forests. This region serves as the home of the Fernia Tribes and the Trofandalorians. More further to the south, just around the equator is located Lepthakalian island, homeland of Khoyan'Xa. It is mostly covered by rainforests and deserts, and eastern part of it is covered by uninhabited volcanic wasteland Ayredthúr. Around the southern edges of the Lands lie the Great Cliffs, an area of cliffs located in the shore. The tallest cliff houses a large cavern known as Skull Cave, the lair of the Sea Witch. Near the cliffs, lies a small forest inhabited by the strange and bizarre Dark Caxildiz.

Society and Culture

The world of Koldenwelt is not a unified society, being composed of various tribes, cities, and nations. However, it can be roughly divided into two regions based on cultural and trade links, separated by the deserts of the Eastern Plains.

Other beings, the Colossi of Koldenwelt, are beings who live outside of society and are considered to be above it, or too different from it. The Colossi have been called 'too dangerous' by the people of Koldenwelt, who often choose to avoid them.
