The Planet Buster is the ultimate destructive force in weapon technology: a doomsday-weapon! Capable of not only destroying the planet fired on but also any nearby moons. Although the exact process of this is unknown, due to the use of a relatively small bomb and the even shock wave, it is safe to assume that it functions as an antimatter weapon that travels to the planet's core and sets off an explosion powerful enough to rip the outer layers of the planet apart. Also it slowly disintegrates the remainder of the planet, preventing the molten mantle from cooling and forming into a new planet. The phrase "BIG BADDA BOOM" is from the 1997 sci-fi film, The Fifth Element.

- Breaks the Galactic Code
- Cannot be used on your home planet.
- Planets destroyed this way cannot be repaired. It will only be a floating ball of lava and the next time you come back there will be nothing left.
- Destroying twenty planets can give you the Quietus Star Achievement.
- Using on Earth in the Sol System will unlock the Oh the Humanity! Achievement.
- If used on the only planet in a star system, the spacecraft will simply fly over the star. The spacecraft cannot land, and will be repelled, as though the star is a gas giant.
"Testing"
Breaking the Galactic Code is only reacted to by local empires' systems that are at a maximum of 10pc from the the system where the destruction happened. If you want to "test" the weapon, do it far away from your neighborhood, in other part of the galaxy and record it if you want. Or, if you wish to ally The Grox, do it in a planet near one of their systems for a +10 relationship boost, you can do this a maximum of 5 times for a possible boost of 50 relationship points.

- The Planet Buster was actually the name of a weapon in Insomniac Games' Ratchet & Clank. It was to be used to destroy a planet.
- This could be the Spore counterpart of the superweapon the "Death Star" from Star Wars.
