SporeWiki:Post-release cleanup

From SporeWiki, the knowledge base dedicated to Spore

SporeWiki was created in 2006, long before Spore was actually released. In the time before Spore (and the Creature Creator) was released, there were made many assumptions on what the game contain. Now that it has been released, we can finally go through the information and remove assumptions made long before.

[edit] What to do

  • Change to present tense
  • Spore will not contain x, it contains x.
  • Remove/properly mark speculation.
  • If you see constructive speculation on a page, consider placing it in it's own section near the bottom of the page (beneath a == Speculation == header).
  • Unneccesary speculation should be removed altogether.
  • Mark unnecesary pages with {{obsolete}} or if necessary, {{merge}}.
  • If the information on the page could prove useful, place it on another related page instead.
  • Information about articles that are not in or we're cut are obsolete and need to be deleted.

[edit] How to do it

  • If you're able to do it yourself, do it.
  • Make sure to use edit summaries, so that other editors will be able to see why you've removed so much information.
  • If you don't want to do it yourself, place a {{Outdated}} (for general) or {{Obsolete}} (for cuts, and severe modifications) on the top of the page. That way other editors will be able to find the pages that needs to be changed.
