Talk:Civilization Stage
From SporeWiki, the knowledge base dedicated to Spore
Is there an official icon for Civilization phase? You know, the all-white cell/creature/tribesman things on black backgrounds like on the other pages? We need on here too. --Lynncreed 19:27, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think those are official icons. I think they are just images taken from the original spore flash intro or some related thing. I would propose using the icons for unlocking the different stages as their icons.
As a second note: After the patch I've noticed that economic is not necessarily the easiest way to win in hard mode. They increased the penalties for being a large nation, being a threat, and having your boundaries too close. So there is usually one nation that is almost impossible to ally with. I was (finally) able to win by using a hybrid method where I was economic at first and military second.
- I've updated the Hard Mode strategy. Feel free to change things/make suggestions.
My dad who is bad at video games, beat the cizalization on hard, without using ICBMs. I don't think cizilization is really that difficult.--Forteto42 15:40, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Peaceful
Shouldn't it be noted that the Blue path, Economic(Trading) is the only peaceful option, whereas Religion, the "Green" path, is instead linked to aggressiveness for the first time in the game? Revrant 18:31, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
I noticed that too. It was a pain to make my nation economic to keep them 100% peaceful. Gyromite 22:52, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- Well religion is not destructive like Military, it just doesn't improve relations like economic does. BTW one time I had about +120 with my ally and I attacked them religiously and the alliance wasn't severed. Also they don't have the Gadget Bomb which makes others mad just Black cloud which makes one mad. —Preceding signed comment added by TimeMaster (talk • contribs) 16:27, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Final Fantasy 7 Reference?
I dont want to add this until its ok to, but i was wondering if the Black Cloud ability could be from Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children, when Sephiroth summoned that big black cloud to attack Edge? Gyromite 09:45, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
The black cloud could be a reference to the mysterious black smoke monster in Lost. Wormulon 23:34, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Trade routes
in civ stage, often when i have trade routes (actualy only) my citezens move to gates and entrances and start to rip at the ground? if they are gathering spice or what ive seen them drop what they are talking about or practicing and do this? its not a glich because every game with a trade route does it. well for me. (i watch citezens alot) [1] [2] User:Delta1998
For the first vid, it just looks like a programming error.
Hey! I am the first to view the 2nd vid on youtube! Wormulon 19:11, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Instintanious Takeover/Join Us?
I was playing the Civ stage with an economic civilization,(I kick at economic), It wa slater in the game and it was down to me and another military civilization. I had been going for soem more anoying titles so I had gone ahead and set everything to easy. Probably becasue of the setting I had managed to keep an alliance with this civilization instead of them trying to take me over. I had trade routes to every one of his cities, though I was only focusing my fleet on 2 at a time. Now, without using the global buy-out ability, I got a transmission formt he other empire, saying that after much delegation and thought they had decided that it would to thier best interest to become part of my empire. I was then presented with two replies, one was a decline and I can't remember it, and the other was "It's about time you joined us." I chose the latter option, obviously, and was instantly awarded with all their cities, wich then all became economic without my orders. It was sweet, but I want to know exactly what conditions caused this.72.174.198.212 16:48, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
If there is one nation left and they have a green relation face with you then they will join you. Omnipotentdracoptyx 17:03, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
Is this true on hard to?
Yes. Wormulon 15:02, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
I'm green(135) With a military nation. I'm religion. I have two cities they have the rest. Nothing has happened.
- I've heard to you need four cities to do this, unless it's on easy. Also, this way of ending the Civ stage is called Diplomatic takeover. —Preceding signed comment added by TimeMaster (talk • contribs) 16:25, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
I've had more than one nation merge into mine at the end of the stage.--Liquid Ink 05:53, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Helpful Glitch
I don't know how, but I got this stage. I hadn't passed the Tribal stage on any planets yet. Here's a theory: When I made a vehicle, the game though I had the stage. So, it let me choose it on a planet. PepterPepper 20:42, September 29, 2009 (UTC)
- That's cool, could you add it here under the minor glitches? —Preceding signed comment added by TimeMaster (talk • contribs) 20:52, September 29, 2009 (UTC)
- Wait, were you at tribal stage on a different planet? Because it lets you do that, too.
[edit] Question
I know that if you're a military civilization, you can conquer a religious city and let it stay as religious, and vice versa with religious conquering military. But if you capture/convert an Economic city, will the game allow you to keep it as economic? Tangletalon 05:10, October 24, 2009 (UTC)
