Talk:CosmoSpore/Reviews

From SporeWiki, the knowledge base dedicated to Spore

Jump to: navigation, search

Here you can write reviews for the fansite CosmoSpore, all reviews are to be completly mature in nature and are not to be flames. Of course reviews can most definitly be negative but if you are giving criticisms, try to make them constructive in nature. It'd be best if reviews don't come from staff of the site itself, but feel free to leave comments. If you are a member of the site or especially if you are a member of it's staff, let that be known in your review. Comments on reviews are also welcome, simply indent afterwards. Seperate each review by a horizontal rule "----":

You may want to give a rating based on some important criteria, here are some good criteria to review on:

  Content - 1/5
  Navigation - 3/5
  Update Freq. - 2/5
  Community - 5/5
  Presentation - 0/5
Overall - 4/5 or letter grade maybe: B

Many Stars Short of a Cosmos - 33Arsenic

(In efforts to actually use the review system, I've chosen CosmoSpore to be the first to recieve a lengthy review to aid in creating a guideline of how to critically review sites.)

Upon arriving CosmoSpore, I found it to be a forums themed fansite. This is to say most of the content on the website should be generated by the forums. A brief glancing at the central forum proved elsewise. At the time of this writing, there are less than 50 posts and the last reply was August 27th. This implies the site does not have a big community backing it.
Continuing on, I proceded to investigate each of the subsections of the site. Much of what I found in each section was merely a copy of the section before: nothing. Put bluntly, CosmoSpore lacks any articles, downloads, and FAQs. Of course, this may all be due to the lack of a community and the depressing fact of Spore not being yet available. For what little content they have, it is not impressing. They have a few videos, thanks to YouTube, and a handful of pictures many have seen at least a half dozen times.
To compliment the website, I would like to say it does have a clean interface. Everything is easy to get to, despite what very little it has. The site has some promise, but it lacks the forum activity to bring the site together. Updating the empty sections of the site would be the best way of getting the site off the ground. A forum centre website should be run by the forums, and without an increase of community, this site is doomed to failure.
