[edit] Idea for plant creation
Copied from my talk -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions - E-mail) 07:15, 2 June 2006 (PDT) What do you think of the ideas I had about plant creation?
The original idea is here,but I'll reproduce it here with lots of unnecessary bullets and some new stuff:
- Plant creations would be classified something like this (capitalization included, as the planet name is a proper noun):
- Flora of Thenvij'bix (Game)
- (this would contain various plants that are on Thenvij'bix, and would inevitably contain the equivalent of lots of very short articles on grass or something)
- with longer creations then being classified like this:
- Flora of Thenvij'bix (Game)/A tree that I wrote a lot about
- (this would be a long-ish article about a tree that I wrote a lot about, and probably linked to like this:)
- ==A tree that I wrote a lot about==
- Main article: Flora of Thenvij'bix (Game)/A tree that I wrote a lot about
- (a summary of what's so great about the tree that I wrote a lot about)
- Plants that don't go on a creature's planet or a different important planet would then go in an article something like this:
- and then it would all go in the Flora Database, which would then truly be a database of florae.

- Very cool, I like the idea, if you want to explain it so users can understand it and adapt to it then I'm all for it. This is good because it will go along with the idea of doing something like the Sporepedia with our content here. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions - E-mail) 21:26, 1 June 2006 (PDT)
- I believe it would like a Planets plants page with sections for each plant (because most would be minor, like grass and bushes and stuff), and if there was a plant in particular that you wanted to be larger you could have a small sectiona bout it and use Template:main to link to a full article of the form Planets plants/Plant name which would also be categorized as a plant concept or something like that, just like the main page. If there is no "planet" that is thought up you can just use your name and the plants you made because both methods of finding plants will probably be available in game (find a planet, and then a plant, then find the creator and find more plants by him). I think this will prove extremly organized, and since you can't write A LOT about a tree it is compressed and useful. We have to work out the specifics though, so I'm going to copy this to Talk:Flora database do continue the discussion. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions - E-mail) 07:15, 2 June 2006 (PDT)
- I made an example of what a flora page could look like, including an approximation of what the database template could be like, if I knew that much about wiki coding. Samog 19:12, 2 June 2006 (PDT)
- I think that's very cool. I think I'm seeing this as a big change for all the creation pages. I'm going to steal your idea and set up a proposal and invite all the active people (or people who made and update their creatures) to comment on it. See...
