[edit] Spore Page

Instead of de-wiki-ing that page, why not just impliment some of the info from there to here? This one seems more appropriate as the "game" page than the one copied from wikipedia given the nature of SporeWiki. Comments? -Yossitaru 22:11, 21 March 2006 (PST)

I think it might also be an okay idea to remove that article and just move this to Spore. Thoughts? Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 22:21, 21 March 2006 (PST)
One way or the other, I suppose it's just up to what title we'd want it under. -Yossitaru 22:25, 21 March 2006 (PST)
Well either way it'll be under Spore, either we add some of this to that and remove most of the wikipedia from it. Or we simply delete that and move this there (so it's called Spore) and add some details. Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 23:05, 21 March 2006 (PST)

[edit] System Requirements

I think we have our first glimpse of system requirements. This image from this post on Gaming Steve. Nevermind, this larger image of it disprooves it. Insanity. -Yossitaru 10:50, 15 April 2006 (PDT)

[edit] "Roleplaying-esque"?

I don't quite get that part. I can understand that you assume the role of your creature, but every game has the player assume a role, that doesn't necessarily make them RPGs. --Bastardman 09:40, 13 May 2006 (PDT)

Interesting, I don't get it eiter, feel free to change it to something more appropriate or change it outright. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 14:17, 13 May 2006 (PDT)
I'm removing it and putting in something more fitting. 33Arsenic 03:45, 01 July 2006 (EDT)

[edit] Looking at overhauling the page

I've been looking at this page for a while wondering how to improve it, and it occurs to me that the best way to do that might well be to make this article a brief overview to practically everything about the game, with links to the main articles on each topic, and to take the FAQ to a seperate page. We can have some elements of the most frequently asked questions, of course (perhaps as the bullet points at the top of the article); but I think this is one of the most visible articles we have and as such it demands our utmost attention. What does everyone else think? --Daxx (T C) 11:32, 29 May 2006 (PDT)

Agreed, I want people to read this article and be able to get to more info on almost anything about the game. People should read this and just realize that they MUST have this game. I think using the Template:main plenty of times would be useful. I see no problem with having a fairly large article to descibe spore when we have a whole wiki dedicated to it. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions - E-mail) 12:02, 29 May 2006 (PDT)
Yeah, Template:Main was exactly what I was thinking. I'll get on this as soon as I have the time to do so. --Daxx (T C) 12:04, 29 May 2006 (PDT)

Well I think the first thing to do would be to either move the FAQ section to somewhere else to a page dedicated to FAQs and answers or convert it to prose form as in like continuous text not point form. Also I think this page is in desperate need of screenshots or things like pictures from the trailers and stuff because the page seems rather bland without any pictures. Most importantly, I think the page needs more information and more links attached to it like interesting websites or links to a gallery of screenshots and videos and stuff. [edit] Game Infobox Style

In my opinion the Game Infobox style used on Wikipedia looks way better (sorry whom ever made this one, no hard feelings). Parhaps change to that one? What do you think? -- Drin 09:19, 31 May 2006 (PDT)

Give it a couple days and if there are no objections, feel free to replace. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions - E-mail) 20:56, 1 June 2006 (PDT)

[edit] Inconsitant Details

I was wondering about the inconsistancies between the line "The Maxis Senior Designer for Spore has stated that no console releases are planned" and the info box which states "Platforms:...360, Wii and PlayStation 3 confirmed." Has someone slipped up or have both angles been proven in some way? --Jmaci

Seams like someone changed it, I'll take that as my answer --Jmaci
I changed it, forgot to note it here, the 3 next-gen systems aren't "confirmed" -- Mason11987 (T - C - E)  22:48, 8 July 2006 (PDT)

[edit] Release Date

Is the Release date really March 3rd? 65.24.106.106 16:05, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Is Sept 8th final final release date? Methyl Orange (contact me) 11:02, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

It's supposedly coming out on the 5th sept 08 for EUROPE, but for everywhere else it's the 7th. Black87
