Layout
If anyone here has a talent for webdesign, and would like to design a template (.psd, .jpg, whatever) for sporewiki.com that would be great. You don't have to worry about coding it, but if you feel you're capable of it go right ahead. The current layout is quite bland for something as grand as spore. If you do make one, you can either e-mail it to me at zorlac at sporewiki dot com, aim it at sporewiki, or just post here. Thankyou! Zorlac 00:49, 7 March 2006 (PST)
Misc
I basically included the info from "The Top Ten Concepts in Spore" and the icons. Needs a lot of cleaning up, but I figured I'd get it all in one place.
Once things get more organized, it'll probably be a good idea to mark things as actual confirmed Spore elements (that we've seen or heard about) versus ideas, concepts and wishes. --Jaleho 12:47, 9 January 2006 (PST)
I think that most of the links that are currently on the page should be turned into inter-Wiki links. I would do it, but I fail miserably at interWiki linking. Samog
There is a plethora of speculation -- what might be helpful is a collection of confirmed information. Rewatching the GDC videos, listening to the Gaming Steve interviews, and scanning the forums for "I got an email from Will Wright and he said this" and posting those elements in-depth will be useful. --Jaleho 15:07, 10 January 2006 (PST)
Linking to The Wikipedia proper at this early stage would be a wise idea, RE: Evolution, E3 2005 etc.
Yeah, having a dozen articles that say something like "A single player game is a game with a single player" makes the Wiki look, for lack of a better word, half-assed.
I think we need to remove a lot of the links from the main page, or link them to wikipedia... otherwise we risk the danger of spending too much time writing articles that have little to do with Spore itself.--Jaleho 16:14, 11 January 2006 (PST)
Look, we need the Afd movement! it helps the wiki!
- That doesn't belong on the main page. Foremost this wiki is for people looking for info, not people lookign to give info. So if they want to add something they will follow the "How can I help link" which will show them everything they can do that'll be useful to the wiki. References and such on the Main page
There shouldn't be references on the home page. It doesn't belong there. If the references gave us a piece of information, they should be in those articles which gave that information. 24.199.134.34 16:44, 1 February 2006 (PST) (will be making an account soon)
Several VIGILANTE JUSTICE edits later, the Main Page is now ready to be expanded into a real Main Page. -Samog 16:57, 1 February 2006 (PST)
Stub
I created a stub template to sort out all the articles that we have with little or no information. That way it can be monitored and people will be easily able to fill it in. This is the stubs catagory, and all articles that receive the stub template will be added to that category now :). Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 21:14, 1 February 2006 (PST)
Infobox
I created a Template:Game Infobox basically after the Infobox CVB template on wikipedia. For the Spore article, and did a copy-paste from wikipedia simply because something needs to be there. We need to rework it though of course. But a start was needed. Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 21:19, 1 February 2006 (PST)
The logo
Just a suggestion/thought... I think the SporeWiki logo should probably include the word "wiki" in it. I mean, I like it now (I like the style/design), but this website isn't a Spore website - it's a "SporeWiki" website. So, any other thoughts on this?

- This is just an example, it's too low-quality to actually go on the front page. Putting the text in the lower right-hand corner works too. Samog 21:02, 13 February 2006 (PST)
- Not bad, did you screenshot it or did you save the file from here then change it. Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 21:25, 13 February 2006 (PST)
- Here's the newer version, with much higher quality (and "wiki" in a different spot):
- PNG format. Samog 11:25, 14 February 2006 (PST)

Wow, I like them all, but I was actually talking about the logo on the top-left corner of the website, lol. (And by the way, I am loving the color theme of the site!)

...Hey, I liked the space ship, lol. =P Oh, well. - Miss Gigi
I liked the graphics (the UFO and the spore) more than Brushstroke Font #5. -Samog
Hmmm...I liked the spaceship too, and if that can be tossed into the top-left log, that'd be cool. But for the main page I think more then simply the text is needed, maybe have all of Sporewiki in that font (I think it looks nice for this style), but instead of the O in spore, do the cell, if that's possible, I think it'd look cool. I may mess with it a little bit and see what I can get, then post it here. What do you think Zorlac? Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 07:17, 15 February 2006 (PST)
- So what do we think? Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 07:24, 15 February 2006 (PST)
Looks good to me, go ahead and change it. -Zorlac 13:01, 15 February 2006 (PST)
Spore-Net TopSites
To all those who don't vote for SporeWiki on a daily basis. We are listed on the Spore-Net top websites list, and I recently added an image to the first page that shows our rank. At the moment it is 2, but since we can't use the php image code (due to the nature of the wiki) that the other sites on that list can do, I uploaded the ranks 1-5 images, which are , , , , . If you vote for sporewiki, and you see it listed as something other then what the button next to the link says, then change the button :). - Someone actually went through and removed it from our front page, and I seriously didn't notice it was gone untill recently. I wonder who is immature enough to do something like that, as if it really matters. Dirty compition I guess, they feel the need to be high on the charts but can't seem to do it otherwise. If anyone notices that it has been removed, please put it back up. Zorlac 14:55, 7 March 2006 (PST)
How'd we go down from #1 to #4? I think dirty competition DID do this...
- I'll make the spore-net thing something seperate and protect that, or just put it straight on the main page and lock that. The main page doesn't need to be edited by anyone really. At least not directly.
- There, I think that should take care of it, if anyone edits the voting template and does anything they aren't supposed to, then they are banned outright. Seems fair to everyone else? Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 08:40, 12 March 2006 (PST)
