[edit] Categorization

May I ask why this is in the Spore concepts category when this is, in fact, a working mechanic currently in the game?

-- Andreas Blixt 03:27, 20 May 2006 (PDT)

A 'concept' doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't implimented in the game, at least from the wording. Just merely an idea, there is no indication in the word if it was put into action or not. Is there a better category you had in mind? Zorlac
It's true that the Sporepedia is, in a way, a concept, and so is every idea spawned from creativity. This article, however, is about the Sporepedia once it has been implemented. That is, the concept has become functional -- a part of the game. A game mechanic, if you will. And as such, while concepts might not be an erroneous choice of category, I believe "game mechanics" suits this article more. That way, things which have been implemented and things which have not been implemented may be seperated into their own categories to help the reader that wants to seperate abstract and concrete information.

Perhaps I named that category incorrectly but it was created when I was setting up the category hierarchy here, and needed something to include the game stages (now phases) as well as the pages like pollinated content and user created content and other such things that didn't fit into the stage categories. Hence "Spore concepts" was born. I have no problem with a name change for the category, perhaps the "Spore mechanics" category you put on a page earlier would be better, but it seems like that is a "harder" grouping that wouldn't include things like innovations and ideas, while concepts fits those as well as forumulas and detailed workings as well as mechanics. But if there is a better suited name, let me know :). Perhaps move this to the talk page of that category if you like? -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 06:17, 20 May 2006 (PDT)

[edit] Badge cards

Isn't this golden, then are having "badge cards" and we had a badge giving out idea before we heard of their even being cards. Not medals or ribbons or awards, but badges, that's awesome. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 06:17, 20 May 2006 (PDT)

[edit] Sporepedia and Content Pollinisation

The player will be able to bookmark or blacklist a certain creator in order to prioritize or ban content from that particular creator.

Does this mean that the pollinisation catalogue will be incorporated into Sporepedia, and what evidence do we have of this? --Daxx (T C) 09:51, 26 May 2006 (PDT)

Might want to put this on the original authors talk page too in case he misses this. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions - E-mail) 12:33, 26 May 2006 (PDT)
As Will Wright describes it in one of the videos, the player will be able to click on the creator name on the card and add him/her to a favorites- or blacklist. And he also says the Sporepedia is the representation of the content database (i.e. the "pollinated" content catalog).

Oh, ok. --Daxx (T C) 10:45, 27 May 2006 (PDT)

[edit] Sporepedia Badge

I created a badge for those who plan to make full use of the Sporepedia. As of yet, it's just a fun way to declair yourself a Sporepedian. --Navenfaux 02:39, 4 September 2006 (PDT)

[edit] Publishing Your Spore Creature

After creating a creature you will be able to share your creature online via a button in the My Creation page of Spore. When saving your creature you can choose a name, description, and tags to make searching for the creature on the Sporepedia on spore.com easier. Due to the high traffic of Sporepedia over the days after release tags are ways of finding creatures that interest you more or help someone find your creature. A common tag is nonspore. This tag means the spore creature is an attempt to recreate an already existing creature, monster, or anything that already exists. An example of this would be if someone made a spore creation of Yoshi from Nintendo's Mario games. The search is not limited to tags, it also searches through user names, creature names, and descriptions when being searched.

[edit] Updates To This Page

I saw that this page was pretty outdated,so I made a few updates. It should go down better now. By the way, I'm new in this community,so any tips would be much appreciated. --User:Furby98 12:37, 01 February 2009.(Furby98 10:38, 1 February 2009 (UTC)).

Thank-you for updating this page, you did a good job on it. But, please put two spaces after periods (or full stops) and one space after commas, so it's easier to read. Thanks, TimeMaster Talk Main Contribs 13:00, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Help

My game doesn't auto download. I checked the settings, and nothing happens, no matter what I do. Does anyone know why this would happen. Poisson14 19:35, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
