[edit] About Me
I'm Dave (or dd790 as I'm known on the internet), 19, male, student at Salford University in the UK, big Spore fan.
[edit] Why "dd790"?
A question I get asked a lot and the simple answer is that dd are my initials and 790 is never taken as a user name. If I already have an account I have forgot the password too I add another 0 to the end (as you may of noticed).
[edit] About Spore
As I said in About Me I'm a big Spore fan, been following the development for well over a year before release. My first nation on Spore came out to be warriors with 4 red cards from the early phases! Since I have experimented with other combinations and still find blowing up planets the most fun. :)
[edit] About My Work On Spore Wiki
Mainly I have been working on the Space Phase Philosophies and produced a big table on every path from cell to space. Then noticed the patterns and that the path doesn't matter only the number of each colour of card! This makes the table a bit redundant but it still shows every path from cell to space, which is quite a few (81), and is quite informative and shows the colour pattern to the philosophy so I've left the table there.
- Great stuff on the Philosophy page, but I have a small problem with the table. You say that RGBG gives you the Zealot Philosophy, but the rules you gave indicate that this should give the Ecologist Philosophy. Which bit is wrong?
- I've started copying the bits of the table that applies to each Philosophy to that Philosophy's page, but as you say this is a bit redundant from the table. But I guess it can't hurt? Obandsoller 00:27, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help with the philosophies. You're right. I got the RGBG one wrong, it should of been ecologist. dd790 00:57 10 September 2008 (UCT)
- Pleasure, I'm just glad to have found what all the different paths take you to. Was expecting this to take much longer. Where did you get all the data from? Did you run through all 81 possibilities yourself?
- I think there are a few other errors here and there, are you sure the rules are right even where the table disagrees with them?
- I realised that one use of having the tables is that with the links it'll help readers see what different consequence abilities on can have with each philosophy. So it probably is worth having them. Obandsoller 01:14, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Have cut and pasted the big table, to make the small tables for each article. Whilst checking them I found that RGBR is listed as Ecologist, but your rule says it should be Knight. I'll leave it as is, until you confirm whether it's the rule or table which is correct. Also I've noticed that the entry for RGRG is missing, I assume that gives the Zealot Philosophy? - I have been using the setConsequenceTrait "cheat" in the console to change the traits of a space age civilization and I did go through them all but I'm sure the rules right and the tables just my mistake. I'll double check them and change them now. dd7900 02:14 10 September 2008 (UCT)
- Ah! I don't know any of the cheats, was trying the hard way. I'm now certain your rules were right, it was the kind of thing I expected. There was a small error you made when copying out the table (no suprise it being that big!) and that threw a few things out. I've found the error and am correcting it now. Thanks! - Thank you for the help, to be honest I was going cross-eyed after looking at the table in edit for too long, not surprised I mad a mistake or lots. Sorry for the inconvenience. dd7900 02:19 10 September 2008 (UCT)

- Greetings, Dd7900! I am broadcasting to you from the center of the Earth. By the time you finish reading this, I will have most likely gone on to perform other tasks. Just came to let you know that I am beginning to replace all the JPG images you uploaded for the Archetype cards. I am only doing this because the images you uploaded were, 1, In a JPG format, which is lossy and has trouble rendering sharp edges well, and 2, Some of your images have the creatures you used on them, which is not helpful for the wiki itself. I just wanted to notify you of this, and I would also like to let you know that I could benefit from you help. You see, I have yet to earn EVERY card, so if you could send my a full screenshot for a Diplomat, Ecologist, Knight, Scientist, Trader, and Warrior in a PNG, that would allow me to complete my work far more expediently. Thank you,

[edit] Moving Pages
I was going to do a little work on the different phases and realised that the cell phase, is currently called [[Category:Tide pool phase]]. I don't suppose you know how to move pages, do you? (other than cutting and pasting, which would lose the history of the page) Obandsoller 15:53, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know how to move pages sorry.
- I was just looking at phases too and was thinking about the best way to do the Cell Editor as it is mainly information given in 2005 during demo's by Will Wright. I may end up deleting most of it and starting again. dd7900 16:05 10 September 2008 (UCT)
- I'm currently doing the Diet page. I've deleted most of what was there because it was mostly overly optimistic speculation, which isn't relevant to gameplay. Maybe some people will want to see what the speculation was, but at the moment I think it's irrelevant. And they can always go to earlier versions and add it back to the page if they think it's really important. Obandsoller 16:09, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- I just realised that moving pages is easy, there's a link at the top of the page to move them. But since the page for the "tide pool phase" is a category it can't be moved, so I guess there's no choice but to cut and paste :-(. Infact I think I'm going to move most of the info from the "Category:Space Stage" to the "Space stage", since the category pages should be just a list of articles relevant to that subject. Obandsoller 16:30, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Theres bits all over the place and I've found a couple of empty pages that are basically the beginnings of new Philosophy pages. I'm currently doing the cell editor so let me know where you put anything about the cell phase so I can link it up to the editor. dd7900 16:39 10 September 2008 (UCT)
- I'm putting the stuff at Cell stage, seems like the place it ought to be. A bit later I'll try and fix all the things that linked to all those category pages. I guess we should add category tags to all the pages that we're doing, so if you could also put [[Category:Cell Stage]] at the bottom of the page then that would be great! Which reminds me that that category doesn't exist yet, but that's what it should be called because that's what it's called in the game. Obandsoller 16:48, 10 September 2008 (UTC) Editted to add the nowiki tags, to [[Category:Cell Stage]]
