I'm no Wiki edit expert. I'm not sure Ose is the right "sysop", but the only one active? I'm not sure this page (Ose's Talk) is the right one for this discussion.
Two approaches suggested:

I dream that all the current "fact" pages to have a big red box on top saying this is an old page containing informed speculation about the game. Now that the game is released, we can gradually replace all guesses with facts. As an exmaple on the FAQ page we "guess" the release date as the 5th (it came out on the 4th), further down the game name is "guessed" as being spore... and so on. Editing each page will take time.
Can you (or other Wiki-expert-sysop) do a "quick-n-dirty" edit that will mark all the so-called-fact pages, which are linked from the main page, out of date? I presume it will be "easier" to remove the flag as they becom uptodate.

Can we use the wiki archive "mechanism" some way? I am fantisizing about taking all the fact pages linked from the main page being reduced to a very short text (one/two lines) and a link that points to the page as it was before, but now renamed to <pagename>_PreRelease.

Yea I didn't intend on that image being a permanent new logo. It's just that I think the current one looks like crap haha. It so plain and has no color. I'm currently trying to find a font similar to the latest Spore logo, so that I can design a possible new permanent logo. I'm thinking about a transparent image with SPORE at the top, WIKI under that, and a creature below that. As for feedback about the skin... I think it looks quite good. Wow! Lots to cover...
Fictional taxa: These are marked with {{tax-concept}}, which contains the tag {{delete}}. These were created erroneously before I realized some of the creatures in the SporeWiki were purely conceptual. I have stopped classifying concepts, and now I am verifying they are real in advance by looking for an image, which is necessary anyway for a justified classification. The image just says so much that words can't, like the posture or positioning of certain features.
Ha, does Kirkburn realize I joined 11 days ago? Even at that, I'm only a Yeoman Editor on Wikipedia (Bob the Wikipedian). (By the way...what are the chances I could get my username changed to that? I know you can do that on Wikipedia, but I wasn't sure if you had the proper tools to do that here. I'd rather not have my last name displayed, if you know what I mean.) But hey, who knows? Maybe I would make a good admin. I've been adminning forums for three years now, so this is just another step forward. I am honored that he has nominated me and will accept the nomination. :)
Maxis creatures...um...tell me what to do, and I'll try. I definitely can see where these are important to distinguish from fan-created creatures.
I wish I could say taxonomy was simple and just invite you to join in the project, but unfortunately, it's so hard I still haven't learned how to classify the birds! In fact, as best I can tell, no scientist has come up with a good way to do it. Mostly, it involves studying the structure, and occasionally habits, and a lot of appearance. I wish I could get it through some people's heads that an image will really simplify the process, and it will also help verify that it's not just a concept. I'm happy to see that Neini8 has taken up the challenge and is at least classifying his/her own creatures, and doing a very nice job of it, too.
Redirects...hmm. In Wikipedia, it's never been a problem to do that, but I can see your point. Since each scientific name is mentioned only once, it might make more sense to do a direct link instead of a redirect. The genera will eventually need their own pages once multiple species exist, but until then, they only serve as single-instance redirects. For now, I'll stop creating redirects on the genus and species.

Yeah... I guess you have a point. What I don't get is why we nede another wiki. This is a wiki revolving around a game, a game that revolves around players making their own universe. You can move my talk pages if you want, but leave my content. The massive effort needed to move all that data is not justified by aesthetics in my opinon. I'm sorry, but the game comes out tommorrow; Most of us will be to busy playing Spore to care. Hey Ose. I wanted to give you a heads up on a new project that we, the Wikia Gaming Team, are starting. I'm going to the top gaming wikis and adding relevant videos (from YouTube) to a few of the most visited articles. In the case of Spore Wiki, I found a couple articles that already have an embedded YouTube video and a few more that have links to YouTube videos. So what I'll do is simply replace those links with the embedded videos. We'll be tracking their usage to find out if it could be an extra enhancement that people will use (ie. a possible new widget). Just as a head's up, it supports every input supported by {{creature}}. As for {{creation}}, what it doesn't support, at least according to the box on Template:Infobox creature, is:
- type = creature/building/vehicle/ect.
- id = your creation's id on the sporepedia
- file = PNG file of your creation
- large = (Optional) large PNG version of your file for display
- matingcall = (Optional) mating call stat (blank if none, 1 if you have it)

- It looks like there's a parameter for CreatureCreationInfobox called backcolor that does nothing, that can just be eliminated in the replacement. I tried to work on it, but there are still some issues, if you look at MediaWiki:Uploadtext/dev, they should be fairly obvious. Also, we might want to keep the red color scheme. Ose, I wanted to let you guys know about a wikilicious event we are running to promote the release of Community Blogs across Wikia the first week of April. The event will give you a chance to test out blogs while earning some major mojo with the community. Here's are the details:

Hi Ose. As you noted, you have some uncategorized pages that need to be cleaned up.
The site notice is a bit awkward, although admittedly not as huge as I feared from what you said. Perhaps you could further shorten it by simply saying "No fanfiction accepted" with that linking to a fuller explanation of the policy, and by simply having the "Useful links" section itself be a single link to a page with all the other stuff? Or shorten the list of useful links (or the text to describe each one). That would get it to two lines.... Truthfully the collapsing is a bit awkward for me as javascript loads last so my page jumps around as it loads uncollapsed and then collapses. I prefer the simple click-away type of messages but this is ok as long as it meets the two-line request in the spotlight criteria.
Finally, I noticed that you have no pictures on your main page. Could you add one?
We have just cleaned out the spotlight list so I think there should be no trouble in getting you guys on it in time for a late June spot.... However looking at the detailed stats on quantcast it looks like your traffic has been holding fairly steady since the spike in January with the interview. -- Wendy (talk) 01:37, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Get this, the Grox's unique physiology points to an ancestor completely different from any other. Every creature in Spore is carbon based.( Proof: When you communicate with the Grox they sometimes call you a "carbon wad". This also points out that they themselves are not carbon based.) Their unique molecules point to completely unique and different origins. You can't just ignore the fact that they are made of a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ELEMENT! You have to account for that!
